What could the customization refer to?

In a perfect world, it means all three.

But I am going with body customization and a livery editor.

customization doesn't sound like track editor, more like the usual stuff (livery, body parts) and i believe that both will be included

It could mean a lot of things, but to start a new thread where you invite people to speculate one day before we possibly get confirmation what it all implies shows your timing perhaps isn't exactly spot on.
I do however hope we get as much customization as possible, livery editor, track editor, all sorts of tuning parts ( mechanical/visual ), hell if I were in charge I would even include a car editor ( designing your own cars from scratch )..........but I'm not.

To me it's livery editor because I want to believe and I want it.

By the gods I hope we find out tomorrow but my guess is a basic livery editor, a basic parts swap system for some Japanese cars and an extension of the wings and alloy wheels system of GT4.

Anything to help me believe that a car is truly mine would be very well received even if its just the ability to make a player logo or a similar set-up as the the fairly unobtrusive 'Mines' style simply line and name branding.

It would be a minor miracle for any form of track editor.

Livery Editor because it was in the features list of GTHD back in 2006, but I voted and hope it also refers to body parts customization.

EDIT: And I don't give a DAMN about track editor. All I want are real tracks like Spa, Silverstone, Mugello.. and historic GT-based tracks.

It probably means the same thing we saw in Prologue with the "concept by GT" cars. Meaning rims, spoilers, bodykits and so on (like in Forza). Those cars also had aftermarket steering wheels and racing seats installed, so I wonder if we'll have the possibility to customise the interiors of the cars as well. :D

Although I would love a track editor, it's probably going to be body customization, then livery editor then track editor (in order of importance to polyphony (most likely) to incorporate)

PD incorporating body customization is an absolute priority.. we may not have seen much in gt4, but Now it seems Sony really needs to compete with the forza franchise (even though we all know that's not necessary :P), and even regular titles like need for speed on customization.

Livery editor may be important as well, but i think everybody and even PD would rather choose incorporating body customization than a livery editor ( if they were to choose from one or the other)

To me it should be the ability to customize each race, series of race or a season. I should be able to limit the class, performance index, tire type and car type. Also the track, the number of cars (AI or not) and night/day racing.

Customization could also mean the tune shop where you can install parts like previous GT mode. Swapping body parts and adding livery can be part of the things you can do in the tune shop.

I reckon livery editor , but it would also be an added bonus if we could put our ID on the plate just for that personal touch :dopey:

I think people should forget about a track editor. It may be a possibility, but for a game like GT, thats a massive massive ask. Its not exactly like Modnation racers.

It would be nice if you could upload you racing teams logo as a sticker on the side of the car, for easy identification with online races.

Customization is probably the same like in GT4.
Which means:
Rims and Spoilers.

I would like to have a Livery Editor, but I think it is not meant by "Customization" ;)
But let´s see what E3 brings us :D

Since the issue is likely to be clarified on today's conference, I'm votting for Swap body parts, just to try a guess. A simple livery editor isn't discarded at all, maybe adding decals and some stickers.

I personally think it must be something different from GT4.
I also hope that livery editor is limited to certain parts of the car (doors and hood). If it is total is going to be too much IMO.

If its a livery editor I don't think its going to be like what we see in Forza.. Maybe putting up premade Manufacturer's decals and things like that or maybe even something as simple as paint change..

Could it also be possible that what they meant by customization is just adding manufacturer options???
I thinks all of these are possible.
I dont believe GT is one to copy what everyone else is doing.. it think they will come out with something unique (which may or may not be a good thing).

Why would they say customization if they mean like GT4's ?

That's my point as well (I was replying to a previous comment).
The video said DAMAGE, CUSTOMIZATION, DRIFTING, ONLINE...
These could be (possibly) considered new features.
RALLY :They shown us something much better, at least in video. Maybe they made big improvements
CAREER MODE : This is something we already had in GT4.... do they intend something different?

My stomach is upside down ... I can't wait...

+10 👍

i don't like to expect too much things about customization , may be they mean only customization about engine and tires ... etc .. not more

just waiting the releasing of the game and we'll see :)

Maybe it refers to the car modification that has been around for ages. (Probably been said, not reading all the responses.)

Then why would they make such a big deal of it then?

Maybe to help people decide on getting GT5 or Forza that are currently on the fence about it? So they can't say "Forza lets you customize and GT doesn't."

When it says customization all I can think of changing wheels, livery editor, and engine and other small upgrades. I don't see them letting us do drivetrain and engine swaps. Kaz is to precise.

I don't think he would let or want you to put a lambo motor in a civic. IMHO
