Should the proper title of the new release be Gran Turismo 5:Epilogue?
-I would not be opposed. I love GT and was disgruntled when I bought GT5P and it feels like the same kind of angst, so why not GT5E and then in 2015 they can come out with GT:tup::cool: !!!

-I do not think this title(GT6) will make the move to PS4 and it shouldn't. I hope PD can see the benefit of just moving on to Gran Turismo 7(6 if you take my new title) for ps4 and just obliterates us with pure awesomeness.
 
They didn't name Gran Turismo 2 (on the PS1) GT:Epilogue.

They didn't name Gran Turismo 4 (on the PS2) GT3:Epilogue.

Why, pray tell, should they name Gran Turismo 6 GT5:Epilogue?

Polyphony Digital has made two main Gran Turismo titles and a number of Prologue titles for each PlayStation system. I don't know why the PS3 should be any different.

The "GT6 is coming when the PS4 releases" argument doesn't work because GT2 came in 1999 and the PS2 in 2000.
 
I've heard people complain about GT6 being on the PS3 quite a lot, and it makes me wonder if these people ever played any of the previous games, GT6 being on the PS3 is as it should be. Not only has it always been 2 games per console, but if they decided that they wanted to make it for the PS4, we would have to wait at least another 3 years because they would have to re-build the game to work on the PS4. The main reason why GT5 took so long on the PS3 was because the PS3 has such a weird architecture, so going onto PS4 now means a completely different architecture to work on. People act like Polyphony just decided to release the game on PS3 just for the heck of it. If they could, they would release it on both consoles because then they would cover all bases, but it's obviously not that simple.

Besides, if you use a steering wheel and have played the new demo, the driving feel is a night and day difference between 5 and 6, it actually feels like i'm driving a real car now, the feedback is incredible for a console sim, it's up there with most PC sims in my opinion, whereas GT5 just isn't.

It's the next full game in the series after GT5, thus the name GT6. Don't see what's so hard to understand.

But the same fiscal quarter is completely different...PD had all this code and all these things for gt6 on the ps3, obviously they aren't going to scrap it. So to me it feels that they are just trying close the door on the ps3 and gain some cash while their at it and then open the ps4 and away they go.

I am going to be purchaser regardless of the name.
 
Quit talking about GT6 and the PS4. There is no relation, period. They've already said so. There is absolutely no way to make people here happy when it comes to GT6. If it's on the PS3, they whine because it's not on the PS4. If it's on the PS4, they'll whine because "this is a way more powerful system, why does the game still look like crap?!".

Call it GT6. It's a new chapter, with several improvements, and several new locations for us to race on. It's not a simple expansion on what we already have. GT5 Prologue and GT5 have similarities, more so than any other GT games, so the naming for that was appropriate.

HAHAHA I just really like the name...Probably to make me feel better for getting gt5p at full retail. I like how people are just stubborn as all get-up on non-issues.(Like ME)

There's a new tire model, new suspension model, new lighting model. New cars, new tracks, new menus, new ideas. Do you need more new?

Besides, for the real fans here, even if the game was called Fluffy Pink Cloud Riding Unicorn Adventure, they'd still buy it.........

We know what GT consists of, we know what the purpose is, we know (generally) what to expect. Who gives a damn about what you guys want the title to be.

You are more likely to get a game at full retail even though you don't think it's an entirely new game? How can you be any less likely to buy this if it's called GT6. If anything, I'd expect the opposite.

I'm getting it regardless. I DO NOT think that PD as a marketing technique should name it GT5:Epilogue, but I will be going into the purchase with lower expectations than the previous titles.

I am just asking if the gt5e title is more fitting since this title will be the last ps3 title I play.

GT5.5, GT5 Epilogue, GT5 Spec III, whatever you want but it definitely doesn't deserve a 6 on the cover. GT6 should have been a PS4 title. PD and everybody should have known that the moment GT5 launched the way it did.

I'm pretty sure 2 games per console is a good tradition.

There's enough new content to call it a new game to me... Going to be getting monthly DLC too.
 
GT4:Prologue and GT4 were very similar.

GT5:Prologue and GT5 were similar, but there were a lot of tweaks to the gameplay and physics between the two.

GT6 promises an overhaul of the physics engine and a lot more content... as GT4 did over GT3. Whether it'll be GT2>GT1 better or GT4=/=GT3 different (GT4 was superior in many ways, but it's hard to argue that it was as much fun as GT3), we won't know till it's released.

A "money run" would be simply adding new content on top of the same GT5 game engine. Which GT6, obviously (from feedback from the demo, incomplete as it is), is not.

It would not have to be on the same engine. If they had the engine in the works and were told by Sony that they need one more release before they start on the new ps4 architecture and they half ass'd it; I would consider that a cash grab. Maybe the new engine is going to be a great leap, I just don't see it from the new demo and from what we are hearing.

I hope Fluffy Pink Cloud Riding Unicorn Adventure 2 is on PS4. I'm holding out for that.

Gran Turismo has never really been about great leaps. Few fundamental things have changed ever since the first game. It'll be better than GT5 and that's enough for many people.

I don't know why everything should be kept the same. I'm so sick of the "Two games per console" argument that it makes me wanna puke. Yes, PS3 happens to follow this trend but it's as if people feels that it has to be this way.

Personally I don't see why they didn't just give us a Spec 3.0 update instead of an entire new game, being as similar to GT5 as it is anyway. Call me stupid but that's what I'd do if I were in charge. Release a Spec 3.0 update with all the GT6 content and upgrades for $29.99 - $34.99 and for those who doesn't have the game already I'd re-release the game with Spec 3.0 for $49.99 - $54.99.
