Hello! I have another progress update on Gran Turismo 5 Evolution.
This time, I gave some love to Special Events, which have always been one of the highlights of Gran Turismo 5, but weren't without their flaws. I noticed that there were several Time Trial based events with not as much racing as I would hope, so I decided to change that, particularly on the Sebastian Vettel X Challenge and the Sébastien Loeb Rally Challenge, which have been completely changed.
Starting with the Sebastian Vettel X Challenge, it now consists of two series with 5 one-make races each. The first 5 races will use the Red Bull X2010 5G, a tamer version of the X2010, which serves as an "introduction" of sorts to the real deal, while the second series of races will use the actual X2010. All 10 races will be long enough for tyre conservation to matter, so they will be a test of speed and control, and a couple also have variable weather. Since Sebastian Vettel is no longer the focus of this Special Event, it has been renamed to Red Bull X Challenge.
Next, we have the Citroën Elite Driver Program (now fka Sébastien Loeb Rally Challenge). It consists of a series of challenges organised by Citroën and Sébastien Loeb to find the team's next star driver. It starts with a set of 3 qualifier races on randomly generated dirt circuits, followed by time trials (identical to the original event, with tougher times) and finally, a series of 1v1 races on point-to-point, randomly generated rally courses against Sébastien Loeb himself. If you succeed, Citroën lets you in on their latest racing project.
These changes should hopefully give more variety and fun to Special Events, with less time trials and more racing.
A new event has been added to the Endurance Series, the Daytona 500, replacing the Indy 500. I don't understand why Polyphony decided to make an Indy 500 event without the Indy Car license, when they could have done Daytona 500 with NASCAR instead. Thanks to @BlazeTheCat05 for the suggestion.
That's the latest on Gran Turismo 5 Evolution, stay tuned for new updates, the next one could be huge. Thank you for the interest shown in Gran Turismo 5 Evolution.
