No Professional/standard physics options either - weird
And Kaz did say mechanical damage was an option

Unless Arcade mode now, is really arcade :)

There has to be another mode where you can play proper simulation, with tuning etc
GT4 had this in Arcade mode, where you can do one off races or runs by yourself with full tuning available

It's like PD decided to tone down their feature list overnight without saying anything.

Final copy with 3.50 FW, DLC etc.
Man I and appreciate what you are doing 👍 I really believe you but just as coolcolj stated its missing alot of features. are you in career mode while doing these videos, or just arcade mode?

Exactly man something is not right.

He said he hasn't tried career yet...

Kazunori said damage would be the most spectacular in Nascar races....and Top Gear magazine described debris and stuff on tarmac.

What's going on? Does tekken have only a review copy or is damage (aesthetic AND mechanical) truly castrated in arcade mode?

Well at least doing a burnout kills your tyres wear pretty fast judging by the tyre meter! So people who like to drift around turns in online races will lose their tyres :)

It seems that all the videos are from arcade mode, as he has a lot of cars to choose from.

Considering the amount of people who don't want damage and the amount that do, there must be an option to switch it on and off, something isn't quite right here folks, either this isn't the final version, like some are saying or something else is going on here.............

Hell, even in the Top Gear article Kaz was proud of the "Big crashes!" he cheers. "All the time!"

There is no way in hell thats the final damage model, Tekken90, did you pay money for this copy?

Guys quit complaining. in 10 days we will all have GT5 and know everything about it. Maybe there are options and menus that Tekken hasn't found yet.

Everything will be explained soon just stop crying about the damage and things, and enjoy the videos that we are getting.

they did say the damage will depend on the setting chosen ( simulation, Arcade or professional and standard)

we saw the back smoking in the end of the video? and also those things we looking red, right next to "Tire grib level"?

There are 4 blocks, 1 for each tyre, they turn red when they're hot, and each one has a 'tank' that empties to represent tyre wear. I like it.

No internal damage was shown but if it exists that's what the car in the middle is for. Obviously it isn't doing anything in this mode at least.

Yep.. I am with you on this one !!

If he really has the final version of the game, he could take a look at the instruction manual and read how to change the damage settings... but til now he hasn't commented anything about that.

He could at least take some pics of the instruction manual - I bet there is some mentioning about the damage settings.

Oh I'm so happy! It was a shame seeing people burn up their tires in GT5P and not suffering for it.

I saw that man. 👍

If it's because it's in arcade mode then that is some relief.
On the other hand why not allow the user to specify how he/she wants to play it.

My head is pickled.

The problem is, Tekken90 titled that last video as if to imply that what you are watching is GT5's damage model, if it isn't then alot of people will be wrongly put off GT5, for no good reason.

No way that is the full extent of the damage I have seen better in Best buy demos. Also a 12 car Grid.Something is definatley strange even the Sti at Monza were 12 only.

I hope I can turn tire wear off in practice mode, that'll get annoying unless I can use softer tires to compensate for that.

As is mine.

Guess we'll just wait it out and see, patience always pays off.

Unfortunately I think that's his intention.

Or maybe you should learn how to drive the car correctly. When you race online you will win a lot more races because you saved your tire rubber for grip. 👍

I'm starting to wonder if there won't be an "unlock features" patch released on the official GT5 release date (November 24th).
It's as if PD knew in advance that copies of the game would have been leaked before that and therefore, locked most of the best features in order to surprise people later on.

Surely this doesn't feel like the result of an almost 6 years development time.

Anyway, thanks tekken90 for the NASCAR video! It clarifies how the new tire wear chart works!
EDIT: now downloading the Course Maker one. Thanks again!

I would imagine that the damage model has been designed to factor into endurance races over many laps with pit options wasting more time to fix maybe? Afterall, if you wrote the car off with one mistake then there would be no point in having it and everyone would (if they could) switch it off?

Harder compounds you mean :)
He was using racing - soft tyres, so that's to be expected.

And there was an option in the menu for tyre/fuel useage

You ungrateful sod.
Many members asked for this combo.

He previously posted a gallardo vid which did show some damage. A bit crap I know but.

I think he's genuine. Anyway Tekken if you don't post up anymore I'll know why.
Thanks.

I forgot to say drifting in my earlier post, it'll get annoying after a while unless the effect isn't that profound.

@ Shirakawa.

What about people offline. How would they sell copies to them?

well...

First, tanks tekken90 for the videos posted.

But I´m asking myself "where are roll overs?" Of two, one: or PD cut down damage features or this videos aren't from a final version.

I'm bugged...
