The centre of the wheel (with the logo) serves as a horn button, just like in many road cars. Probably you can assign a horn button for your G27.

I thought all the (Sony) GT5 rigs at Gamescom were DFGT's?

You'll have to wait till Saturday for that good video footage (when Alba arrives with the recording equipment), because my phone camera is really bad at video. Might take some high res. pictures though tomorrow. :)

I know you two are teaming up on Saturday so that's what I meant really, I won't be upset if it doesn't go online until Sunday though ;)

It's getting difficult to keep on top of the posts so I'm hoping Alba will be adding video links to the first post. :)

Actually on the topic of getting the videos online is it possible upload them to Vimeo? The quality seems much better than youtube although that may just be the content and uploaders.

@its him. First thanks for the reply and detailed feedback on the demo.

Nice to see tire marks are in the game. I havent seen a single video showing this but its a welcome detail that should have been in the other 4 versions of the game. I have also noticed the tire audio is finally improved from the other 4 games.

Your comment about Forza 3 vs GT has me quite excited. I think the handling, physics and graphics in F3 are beyond the best I have played for a sim game. So if you say GT5 is better then that is excellent news because as much as I love Forza 3, it sounds like GT5 really could be the next best sim game.

Hey ItsHim. Is your favorite game Shift? Erm... did you judge GT5 as a racing game like Shift, or as a racing simulator like iRacing?

Yeah, will try to get as much video as possible, there's no time limit on the demo so we should be able to do each track with as much cars as possible on each :P
Also need to update the first post with all the news we've had so far, so much stuff to cover :P

Why do i alway see videos which is always done by people who dont want to drive properly
Because a few of them actually can't drive a car ingame and the rest are merely testing the damage, physics etc... .

👍

You can only do so much mate so I wouldn't worry too much about updating the first post with new info. I'm sure most people have read the Famine's news posts and the official info from the Gran Turismo website so just concentrate on getting those tripod mounted professionally recorded HD videos posted (yes I am being totally selfish) :D

That would be nice if the G27 is even in the menu. I'm sure it will be. It would be nice to actually have assignments for the six buttons on the wheel.

Please look for rotors turning red under braking.. Thanks

Won't get that until release or unless PD release a video of it ingame..

I suppose but how come this has sound. It's F1 2010 at Gamescom. If you read my youtube comment, I even ask if he can do a similar video for GT5. I said that his video was perfect, it had sound, you could see his wheel inputs, decent driving etc etc...Why can't this be done with GT5? Aren't our GTPlanet guys there with video cameras? or am I mistaken? (genuinely asking)

Agreed, that is a nice video. Also nice to see a grid start for once ;)

I agree. There are tons of GT5 vids, but a lot of them don't seem to provide the info we want... steering input, sound, etc... and yes, proper driving.

On a sidenote, theres also a vid of Adrian Sutil doing a few laps of Monza in F1 2010. How I wished they had him do a few GT5 laps! He's supposedly a racing-game fan, so I'm sure he would have been interested.

Yeah I saw the video with Sutil at Monza, amazing video. The steering wheel that was used wasn't really all that good as far as I could tell, he was turning it almost full lock but in-game it was hardly moving. It wasn't 1:1 with the game. I think that's why he struggled a little in the start but he picked it up incredibly fast! The rest was some amazing driving even though the wheel wasn't up to scratch. I'm sure he has checked out GT5 while being there, maybe just not on video.

IGN's description of the B Spec AI

Here, it's possible to have up to six drivers, and your job is to manage them. In-game, that means maintaining their physical and mental conditions, issuing commands to get them to speed up, slow down or attack the driver in front. It's represented in three different views; there's the command view where the action's restricted to a small window while the rest of the screen is taken up with telemetry read-outs. Another view offers up the live timings, with sector times fully broken down and a final one shows the racing off in full-screen glory.

A live demo shows it in action as a Ferrari 458 Italia is put through its paces around the Nurburgring's Grand Prix circuit. It looks gorgeous, as you'd expect, but there's another revelation in the action. At the player's command, the Ferrari attacking outside the first corner and then holding its line for the inside of the next as it pulls an aggressive – and impressive – overtake on a Citroen GT car.

The next opponent is a Gallardo, which the Ferrari hangs on the tail of looking for gaps at each turn. As the first corner approaches again, it dives for the inside but the Gallardo blocks him off. At this the driver's mental status takes a dip – as indicated by an onscreen bar – and as it continues to push it makes more and more mistakes, overshooting apexes and letting the rear-end slip out a little too far as it falls into the clutches of the Citroen behind it
. It's dynamic behaviour that suggests that Gran Turismo's A.I could, at long last, have been brought up to scratch.

Finally black marks. T/y Awesome! So much great info being released this week. Just an overload of awesomeness. I also just found out Halo Reach will have matchmaking for the co-op campaign and for co-op firefight! 👍 Just been a very exciting day.

Was Adrian Sutil at GamesCom?

The presentation is always fantastic.

Also guys have a look at the F1 2010 Monza videos while indeed Codemasters have great looking tracks its easy to see more detail in the GT5 version.

Look at the turbo gauge, it contains real values:D

For the first time, maybe we will be able to change turbo pressure:)

edit

The NSX and Skyline at that picture seems to be standard and not premium
