Gran turismo 5 racing.

Sorry if I'm in the wrong thread on this one, but here's my question. When gran turismo 5 comes out will there be official racing series online here created by a special group of people eg.WRS organisers or will you be able to have you're own series, or will you have to show you're idea to a mod and get it approved by them? Also, if there is official series when will they start and what race series can we expect?
 
There'll be officially run series, as there are now. Individuals will also be able to set up their own series if they wish, as they do now.
 
Official would be stuff like NASCAR or SUPERGT and individual would be stuff like nurburgring challenge. Am I right?
 
No, "Official" is sanctioned by GTP and run by approved staff members of :gtplanet: such as the WRS. It is run properly to strictly enforced guidelines and will be picked up by another organiser (or the burden shared) if one staff member cannot run it by themselves. It will not be abandoned.
It will be run with a view to being all-inclusive, there'll be some of each kind of car and track, but it won't be restricted to only NASCAR or only JGTC.

Unofficial is anything else run by normal users, which can have very different guidelines and is not :gtplanet:'s obligation to enforce. These series frequently pop up, generate a little interest and sometimes run to completion and are sometimes abandoned mid-way through.

Laptime challenges like the Nurburgring or Suzuka challenges are not necessarily "series", but they're not "Official" GTP events either.

If you, for example, wanted to run a JGTC event using only JGTC cars and tracks featured in the JGTC series, then that's fine, it'll belong in the Long Or Short Race Series subfora depending on the number of races, but it'll be your sole responsibility to maintain the series, races, results, etc. and will not be posted in the WRS area which is reserved for the official GTP sanctioned events, just as has been done with GT3, GT4 & GT5:P events that've been run (successfully in many cases) such as ARCAT, GTPCTC, GTPLMS etc.
 
Official stuff would be the Weekly Race Series. You can run whatever series you want.

Probably after GT5 gets here. Then everyone would re qualify on the new GT5 physics. Which might take sometime, i would guess probably a month.

It's under discussion by the WRS admin team at the moment as to how best to proceed, however, it's kind of difficult to know how it'll proceed when we've not even got the game in our hands yet!
 
Yeah, I'm wondering if how we're going to get the Divisions and the Qualifier set up, plus if Arcade doesn't have all the cars, we'll have to get them in Simulation and that might be a while.
