Can't wait to use these in custom races, glad the C5 is finally in as i've been holding off on doing a custom race until the C5 came as racing the Viper GTS against the C4 just felt off.

Ohhh! Excellent reminder that we can still complain there is no Cobra R. This game's still got plenty of complaint-life left in it! Business is good for GTPlanet :sly:

Looks like a fun update! The updates this year have been quite structured, a competitive duo of hatches (205 GTI and EF Civic), a run of crossover type vehicles (C-HR, CR-V, CX-30), and low end goofy oddballs (Carry, Kangoo). I think these are good and hopefully this bodes well for the next game having a far better variety of events in its main progression as GT7 lacked some of the more oddball events in its main progression. In earlier installments you'd be forced to drive cars you might not necessarily choose in order to progress, like the truck series in GT4 Beginner League. I think crossovers would be a good modern equivalent in a future title seeing as they're relevant to daily modern life (even if I don't like them).

I will always welcome more kei cars as they're so much fun, a Suzuki Carry is a great addition. And the Corvette C5 makes me happy because it means my excessive collection of SRII Vipers will now have its arch nemesis/playmate back.

Yes, as Nebu mentioned on the last update, PD is doing a good job on the end of GT7 lifecycle adding cars that will be the base for the beginner section on GT8, it will be a very interesting second half of updates in 2025🤭

Check out the real paint tab in the paint shop in GT Auto, they have a lot of pink tones. Addendum: In the other type of colors too they have pink.
I was mainly talking about the color of text in this thread. When I put it in, it was purple, but I love pink, also.

Hey, it's a Suzuki kei car, close enough.

Looking back on previous updates, I think I'm enjoying the vehicle content more in 2024/25 than 2022/23. Every month update has had at least one vehicle I'm interested in, and given the variety of tastes Gran Turismo caters to, I don't think it's realistic to expect more than that when the typical update only has three cars in it.

I'm super excited for the 812 Superfast. Depending on the customization Polyphony gives it, I may do an XX build and livery with it like I did with the F12. Just hope it has a nice-looking ducktail. The C5 may be cool for a C5.R build. The other two are just bleh. I already know I'm not going to buy them. Like, period.

Yet again there are many people who are complaining about regular traffic cars being added. Same was for the CX-30, same was for the HiAce, same was for the HiMedic. Y'all act like a game like GT4, which you hold so much higher than any other racing game, didn't have regular traffic like the Odyssey, Element, Ram 1500, the Avantime, etc. Everyday cars have always had a place in GT since the beginning, and personally I think it's great that PD are still doing this today. Not every car needs to be the same German supercar that's been in every other game.
The Avantime is by no means regular.

Bad meme is bad.
No it's not. It's a fantastic meme.

Yeah the updates this year have been really good.

The handling should be fine when tuned. Problem it’ll have is if it’s like the C-HR and can’t change the transmission.
This is a big gripe of mine. I have no issue with our little hybrid homies, but was extremely let down in the early days of GT7 when I found out the Prius/Prius C couldn't be turned into silly monsters. Such a bummer.

We should be able to do engine/transmission swaps to all the hybrid cars as well. Would be so much more fun, and add a lot of excitement to the new ones coming to the game.

That said, coming back to this thread for yet another update it's so funny, and also depressing, to see the same sad sack responses.

C5 Corvette! Awesome! Yet some people complain that it's not a base Vette or that it's not a C6?! Nonsense.

Kei truck?! Great! Cue the nay-sayers letting all of us know they have ZERO idea of what the Gran Turismo series has always about.

Honda CR-V? See above.

Thankfully, I don't see anyone complaining about the Superfast, although the F12 is already a wild one, and the 812 is likely to be more so!

Looking forward to this one.

The CR-V is going to surprise people, me thinks.

That Suzuki Carry is going to be a hoot and a half. I seriously can't wait to throw it around Tokyo.

The Corvette will make for a good Sophy car addition (if they add it), for Custom Races based on GT race series. I'm less enthused to actually drive it. I'll probably make a 700pp build for Le Mans, use it once, and then it'll sit in my garage.... forever. I'm just not a Corvette guy. Very Marmite car to me.

The Ferrari is probably my least favourite of the era. The 712, the 812, the FF, etc... Just bleh... I would have been happier with the 355, 550/575, or even the somewhat controversial 456 GT. The 812 is just not my cup of tea. Though, I'm glad it's in the game for those who have been pining for it. To each their own, as always.

This post - and some similar comments over the past few updates on our socials - is a good example of a thing that a lot of people don't quite get about Gran Turismo still, somehow.

Driving your own car is just as much a part of it as driving something aspirational, or a status symbol, or some racing cars. It's why we're getting some common CUVs, as they're increasingly becoming cars that people actually drive.
Exactly this!

Either someone on PD's staff has been watching The Price Is Right in daytime like me, or just a total coincidence:

This is the second time I've seen an SUV in a monthly update that was also somewhat of a Showcase prize on the show in this current era. First the Mazda (CX-30 or 90, not sure of the model) earlier this year, now a CR-V?

And nice to see the GT3-debuted, usually Standard model in the PS3 era C5 Z06 return, although personally, I'd prefer the '04 model that was a Premium in GT5 and GT6.

About 90% of cars in GT7 I never touch. I am missing 499P ferrari hypercar, audi rs6, bmw m5, ferrari sp3 daytona, a modern f1 car. Cars like kangoo I will never touch anyway
A modern F1 car? You’re playing the wrong game. We already have SuperFormula which is a modern single seater.

If anything we need a classic Formula Ford and I can get a variety of chassis for PD if they want them to scan!

+1.
Many racing developers act as if there were no supercars or high performance GTs in the 90s apart from Porsche, Diablo, McLaren and maybe the XJ220.
It's as if everyone else has been brainwashed into thinking that my favourite car, the 456 GT, didn't exist.

Well, I have no complaints about this update, including the 812, but I'm tired of the influx of 2010-2020s supercars and hypercars in racing games.
Excessive carbon exposure that seems more for fashion than function, childish spoilers that seem designed more for social media likes than downforce, way too many air intakes, and sub-colors on spoiler edges that make every car look like a Nismo or Abarth... I'm sick of it all. I want to see more simple and cleaner cars.

I can't seem to find any info that suggests otherwise, unless I missed something. It would seem obvious to use the 2004 model, given it's already premium quality mesh before.

And what is wrong with adding a F1 car from this year?

Licensing. Hence why the Lotus 97T is now known as the F1500 and the 90's F1 car that closely resembles a 1992 Williams is known as the F3500 in the game. If PD would want to bring a modern day F1 car into the game, they'd probably have to model a car by the specific set of regulations and put it in under their own brand.

Codemasters/EA holds an exclusive licence to do so.
The crew motorfest game has a bunch of cool f1 red bulls (as recent as 2024), judging by the fact that PD really likes to cooperate with champions as seen in GT5, GT6 and GT Sport respectively...
