C5 and Superfast is nice to see them appear in the game. Even though there's nothing wrong with the Carry, I'm feeling pretty neutral with it.
I may not resonating with the rest of the positive reactions, because of how common trucks like these been roaming around for years! It's like, "Oh, the sugarcane/food truck arrived." and that's it.

Just saying!…

I can't seem to find any info that suggests otherwise, unless I missed something. It would seem obvious to use the 2004 model, given it's already premium quality mesh before.
Not all PS3-era premiums were made equal (the C5 appears to date from around GT5's 2009/2010 era) - there is a reason the ST205 WRC were changed from Auriol's car in the PS3-era games (which dated from GTHD Premium/Concept, to boot) to Kankkunen's in GT7.

And we're back to wishlists and "x instead" posts.

See, what I don't understand about the 812 and C5 Corvette is that they were on the datamined list years ago and yet PD have only just decided to release them now. Yet, some fans claim that they're not holding content back. To me, it certainly appears as if that was exactly what they were doing with those two cars.
I'm not trying to say that it was a bad move, it's actually a business practice that makes sense but it sort of contradicts the notion that once a model is completed, it's added shortly after.

That would require one to believe that the "datamined" list was full of complete vehicles - which is not a safe assumption in the slightest.

I’ve questioned this too. One thing that it could be is it’s completed and being fine tuned. There was a BMW in an update not that long ago which I think is the ONLY car that you can properly tint windows. Throw a black decal on and reduce transperancy to whatever you want and it doesn’t start turning grey, the light actually hits it like it would in real life.

So maybe some of the cars on the data mined list are pretty much complete and being tweaked, or they’re left over from previous games and are being redone. Wasn’t Apricot Hill in the GT7 trailer? Why isn’t it in the game? I would hope it’s because they just gave us a sneak peek and they’re still building it up to look great? Idk. Speculation. I just wants tracks at this point but the C5 is something.

It's possible at the time they were found, they were not actually modeled or finished. Licensing is also an issue with taking these datamined lists.

Suzuki Carry most likely get Suzuki Swift engine and Corvette c5 will get c7 zr1 engine for swap
As of CRV, I don't think it will get an engine swap because it's hybrid. And Ferrari is Ferrari

Two straight updates that will be fully Brand Central, I'm just realising.

"Modern" might be a stretch when two of those cars are 2001, but this year's updates are definitely skewing "more modern" than previously, where it felt like there was a Legends inclusion almost every month.

NEWSFLASH: UK, Hackers obtain datamine from MatskiMonk's PC...

"...whilst many believe this is evidence that he's holding back completed liveries, other sources claim that many of these folders are either empty or only contain source images, or barely any decals..."

This is how I view the datamine... it might mean something, it might mean nothing.

The Corvette C5 holds a especial place in my heart. I could write a whole essay about it, but to keep things short, when I was a kid GT2 and NFS3HP were pretty much my main information about cars. For some reason, out of all cars in NFS3HP the Corvette C5 was my favorite. The game had Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Jaguars, one Aston Martin, two Mercedes... and yet, my favorite out of all of them was the Corvette, especially in red.

NFS3HP was my first NFS game and my 2nd racing game, right after GT2. Everything about it was just so mesmerizing: the funny tracks, the music and the police chases. The game had a "GT-style" menu talking about the history of the car and a bunch of real photos.

I remember booting the game just to hear the music while watching the slideshow. I really thought the C5 was the best car in the world simply because in my head it was the most beautiful car. The interior was cool as hell at that time:

To make it even more especial, around 2001/02 I was with my dad near a place that had a lot of dealerships. It was my first time there and I got to see unusual cars, they weren't especial or anything, just different/more expensive. However, everything changed when I saw this one. It was the very first time I got to see an actual sport car:

Silver, convertible, low and extremely beautiful. I remember my dad laughing way too much because I couldn't contain my excitement. "Dad, did you see that?!! It was a Corvette!!!"
Gran Turismo 3 had the Z06 and the C5R. When I got to play it I didn't even knew about the racing history of this car, I was just happy to drive both of them.

They withheld content it's a fact and can't be disproven
It's not a fact, but a supposition. And yes, non-falsifiable claims can't be disproven, which is pretty much what makes them not facts.
judging how career haven't changed that such since launch
Why is that a piece of evidence for content being withheld?
and Sophy being slowly added to tracks and so on.
It gets added to tracks as it gets trained at those tracks. That's also not evidence of content being withheld.

Additionally, the post I was replying to was about the "datamined" car list being evidence of content being withheld because the C5 and 812 are on it and subsequently arriving three years later. That's not a good data point.

We know that the list does not contain exclusively complete vehicles (or anything close to it); it's just a list of file entries, with some entries being mere carryovers from previous games - and some, at the time, being more complete. Indeed it's always been a spectrum of cars in various stages of progression towards inclusion in the game, from "never happening" to "soon".

Weirdly this is the second time you've quoted me today to give a response not related to my post.

Ferrari 812 superfast is the the star of the update for me. One of my favorite Ferraris ever. Was never much of fan of the 550-575 maranello. I think with 599 is where Ferrari steped up. Corvette c5 z06 is also a very good pick.

The other 2 is kind of meh for me. But cars that build the foundation for gt8.
We might have good selection of cars for gt8 so it can hopefully generate more choise as of the career mode.

BMW m5 e60 is one of the last on the datamine list to go i care for. But we see what happens. I dont think their be much going on for gt7 in 2026 as updates goes.

I like most updates, GT games keep people playing for Its lifespan and beyond, we will expect a TT with the Vette or Ferrari and a week challenge to test that SUV thing and a one make with the Ferrari. I see this like PD always gives us a reason to play the game every week and with the updates a reason to at least play it once a month. That’s more that I can say about most of the games.
