Have you at least tried to understand why I suppose this reference?
I don't really know what you're talking about. "The next update" doesn't refer to going from 1.38 to 1.40, because that happened in November 2023; we're on 1.61, so the next one will probably be 1.62.

Perhaps you could at least try to explain it?

Well, August doesn't seem to me to be the month of preference for a big update!! But it's never the case!! 1.38 brings together 3 basic Japanese vehicles and 1.40 which is a big update that contains 2 American vehicles (the only update with 2 American vehicles) which contains a total of 5 vehicles! My prediction is that the next update will contain 5 vehicles! Given that the next update will contain 2 American vehicles!! Here is my explanation to say that the next update could refer to between 1.38>1.40 and 1.61>((1.62))

I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but 1.38 didn't have "3 basic Japanese vehicles" - one was a Gr.4 race car and one was an American tuner car (based on an EG Civic, but not a Japanese car) - while every figure you have for 1.40 is wrong: it had three American cars (Challenger Demon, Charger Hemi '68, Tesla Model 3) from seven in total. 1.40 was also, pretty notably, the "Spec II" update.

I think you're trying to suggest that because 1.40 had multiple American cars and more cars in total than a regular update, 1.62 is going to do that as well? I just don't know why 1.38 and 1.61 are relevant to that.

update 1.38.webp
update 1.61.webp
because you see something other than Japanese in these 2 updates???

Perhaps you didn't read my post?
1.38 ... one was an American tuner car (based on an EG Civic, but not a Japanese car)
The Civic is the Garage RCR Civic, a GT Award winner at SEMA and listed in the game under Brand Central, America, Garage RCR.

If it was a regular EG Civic it wouldn't even be in Brand Central as it wouldn't qualify through age alone. But it's not, so it is - and is an American car.

Why would Gran Turismo's social networks rush to publish the latest information on update 1.61 if it's just to publish an ordinary update??? Knowing in advance that the update would be published on the last Thursday of August?? Or are the decisions made at the last minute? I absolutely don't think so!!

Only those who designed it are American, the rest are 100% Japanese!!

Again, I don't think you've actually read my post at all there. The Garage RCR Civic is a Brand Central/America car in GT. If it was a regular EG Civic it'd not be in Brand Central (because it's way too old) and not be American, but it isn't a regular EG Civic. I'm not sure quite what your objections to this are, but they're not based in reality.

I'm still lost as to why this is a point of any kind associated to this idea that 1.40 had two American cars (three) from five in total (seven), so 1.62 will have five cars because it has two American cars.

Sorry, my theory of 5 vehicles in the next update is based on the chronological order in which the updates of 4 or 5 vehicles appear and never having more than 2 times 3 vehicles in consecutive updates since update 1.46!! This may not be clear to you, but it is for me!!

Sure, but just so you know, two is also not three. That would make a two-car update also fit this pattern.

I think you’re jumping to conclusions and seeing things that aren’t there tbh.

I will happily eat crow though.

Let’s wait and see and not get crazy.

2 car update???
Yes, that would be an update with two cars in it. As you say, since 1.46 there's not been more than two consecutive three-car updates, so any number other than three cars in the next update would fit that pattern. Two is a number other than three, and would therefore fit that pattern.

As things stand, we only know of the Corvette CX and Corvette CX.R VGT thus far. That's two cars.

yes except that there has never been an update to 2 cars!!

There was never an update with seven cars, until 1.40 arrived and there was. There was never an update with six cars, until 1.49 arrived and there was. There was never an update with more than three cars, until 1.25 arrived and there was.

Just because it's not happened yet doesn't mean that it won't happen.

I don't see the point of an update to 2 VGT cars when there is a world event in 1 month!! If it's not to scare people away during the event!

Okay. So... you don't think they'll do that because you don't see the point of it?

It's just one VGT car, by the way. The CX Concept is a regular concept car (the third of three Corvette concepts produced by GM Design studios this summer) and not a Vision Gran Turismo. Only the CX.R is a VGT.

Excuse me, I forgot that Polyphony only sees its own interests, not those of the players! How stupid am I! Thanks for reminding me.

Something I think is important to remember in this thread, and this goes for multiple parts not just this current conversation: Part of using past patterns to predict future behaviour is being able to tell what is actually an explainable pattern with reason behind it, and what is just some data that happens to line up together nicely.
