Another information that I take from these numbers: 100 Million copies sold & 3 Million active users -> 3% of the sold copies are "actively used"
Considering that some users have "smurf" accounts that use the same copy these 3% become even less...
? Who said 100 million?

100 million is franchise numbers. GT7 is around 15 million making it the best selling entry

Just wondering if these "numbers" are suspiciously high because the "Gran Turismo 7’s Festive Login Bonuses"
It just seems too coincidental...
If one doesn't play that much why would they know or even care about the login bonuses?

People are getting hung up on the 2 million number itself, but the anomalous bit that the rest of the industry will be questioning is the bit where it's still increasing.

Most games' peak player count will be on their first weekend. Games that get huge word of mouth (think Helldivers 2) might be their third or fourth weekend. Still growing at the end of year 4 is basically unheard of for a traditional game in a traditional genre.

That’s because GT7 is not a ****** game like 9/10 of live-service games out there. Quality matters and people respond to it by not only sticking around but also by bringing their friends too. Wild concept for the slop the industry has been serving for quite a while now.
