Straight up motorsport sim racing games have a hard cap on the number of people interested in them, PD will never be too worried about what ACC or iRacing or Forza Motorsport are doing because the number of people who want to play a full-on sim, or that care that much about high-end physics, isn't that high.

The one game they'd be worried about is if MS get around to porting Forza Horizon. That's the one that has a good chance of just usurping GT's place as the default driving/racing game (in real life cars).

Microsoft has moved into the full on Western Media Netflix/Disney camp of subscription based ho-hum games that are generally agreeable. They dont wow but they dont offend either. There won't be any overlap between GT and Forza....probably ever.

If I had to guess Microsoft is either going to have to completely pivot their current approach to gaming or back out of the industry altogether. Though maybe they make enough money from their computers that this is sort of a vanity project for them.

This is a double edged sword for the GTWS people if it turns out from one of the qualifying makes, because they meant they have to relearn everything.

Imma go out on a limb and say those that have qualified will have access to any new cars/tracks well before we will (and before any live events, should that car/track be part of the event). I have to think there has to be a way for them to get said car/track and be able to practice. They would, of course, need to sign an NDA but I'd recon that's SoP anyway.

There was a big software update recently. Not always directly related to GT but... keeps stirring pot.

Not sure about cars but for tracks it happened during GT Sport world tour events.

The event build is usually different from the public release, so players will have chance to use new content at the events. I'm not sure an event build has ever been released outside of an event - even during the online era of GTWS.

I was referring to new tracks being announced and played at the events before they were released to everyone. Didn't this happen? Wasn't spa one of those cases?

Attendees too. I drove Catalunya and Tokyo South at the events, before they became available in the public release.

But only at the event, never any earlier.

Sure, but Spa appeared at the World Tour before it made it to the game.

Edit: the Montreal track was rumored even before the World Tour making a stop in Montreal was announced.

It really lines up perfectly. Fingers crossed!

Excited for the scenes when everyone rocks up to the haunted Montreal jam factory next to the Montreal circuit expecting Montreal to instead be met with GT7 Red Rock Valley but it's now a dirt track.
 
Whatever track is coming, they should really start teasing them in the live events once again. On GT Sport days, I remember it actually made me watch these races. I basically would come for the teased content and would stay for the actual event, and I sense a lot of people used to do the same. This is one hell of a trick to increase the audience.

That's why I don't exactly know why they stopped doing this, the players there use a special build of the game anyway.

This is one question I'd really like to see being brought up on those round table interviews. The only problem is that Kaz might answer it with his generic words, like: "There was no particular reason for it."

No new cars in either dealership tonight. I don’t recall that happening too often.
 
I'm sure it's been talked about before but I only really noticed it last night trying out the GR.1 cars since I'm in a Le Mans mood for some reason and haven't really used them since GT sport.😅

Anyways, the Hybrid LMP1 car's seem to be incredibly nerfed and the hybird deployment seems a little wack. It's weird having the hybrid cars basically run out of steam at 170ish mph down the Mulsanne.

They seem a bit weak, yes.
But have you configured them for low drag?
 
Hopefully we can get silhouttes next weekend if its not late.
But maybe pd switch to an early july update like it happen last year when their was a live event.

I believe we have had essentially every Le Mans and Nurburgring 24 winner added to the franchise, going back quite a few years. At least a decade for sure.

I'd wager it's a safe assumption the 499p and 296 GT3 come to the game eventually because of that alone - it has always seemed they respected the prestige of winning these events and selected cars accordingly.

I really believe we will see most of the Hypercars sooner or later. Maybe not in GT7 but GT8 or something but those will be available. The top le mans classes are very well represented in GT7

Well represented for old cars but very out-of-date for new ones, like the rest of the game. Of the hyperclass from this year's race they'd need to add the Ferrari 499P, Porsche 963, Cadillac V-Series R, Lamborghini SC63, Peugeot 9X8, Isotta Fraschini Tipo6-C, Orica O7, BMW M Hybrid V8, Alpine A424. The only one is the game in the Toyoya GR010.

Chances of even a few of those coming to this game or GT8 are pretty remote. If you want to race them, you're better off with Le Mans Ultimate, Forza, iRacing, etc.

While I think some LMDh hypercars will eventually come, I'm not confident we'll get the 499P specifically, just because of how the licensing situation seems to be for the current crop of hypercars.

LMDhs seem fairly easy to get the licenses for, probably from IMSA partnerships - the Porsche, Cadillac, Acura and BMW seem pretty common across multiple sims. But for LMHs, I'm pretty sure the GR010 in GT is the only non-mobile, non-Le Mans Ultimate appearance of one so far. And PD don't have the relationship with Ferrari that they do with Toyota.

In terms of Le Mans, we've ended up with most of the winners from the last 10-15 years, but I can't help that's more of a reflection of their not being many different winners (with 5 years being Toyota, so .. y'know PD gon PD), rather than any intention or indication that they're any kind of priority.

I can see the 499 getting added in the medium term, as much because PD seem happy enough to license Ferraris as because it's a two time LM24 winner now - but I wouldn't hold out any expectation of any other LMH/LMDh cars.
