Bit of an odd choice to have London as the location for the Asia/Oceania portion of the Manufacturers Cup. Wonder why they chose that instead of somewhere closer like Sydney.
Yeah, never been this long between the release and the announcement of a new game in the grand scheme of turismo history. Quite crazyShould be sillhouttes this weekend. I hope for something more exciting than the last 2 months. But we see.
Its 3 years anniversary for gt7, but i am not sure pd and Sony Will do anything to celebrate that. Last track was added in july witch should be time now for a new one.
But i dont see pd adding more than one more track for gt7. 2 if we are really lucky. But that something i find very doubtfull.
My guess is on another 25-30 cars for gt7, and then no more. Gt7 has proably have the longest update circle yet of any gt game.
Within this timegap normally a new gt has already been revealed, but i dont think thats long now.
GTS release + GT7 announced = 3.5 (or so) years differenceYeah, never been this long between the release and the announcement of a new game in the grand scheme of turismo history. Quite crazy
??? Gtsport released at the end of October 2017 and they announced gt7 in june 2020. It’s 2.5 yearsGTS release + GT7 announced = 3.5 (or so) years difference
GT7 release + GT8 announced = not yet, but not far off as long as would happen within this year
I feel corrected for being bad at math!??? Gtsport released at the end of October 2017 and they announced gt7 in june 2020. It’s 2.5 years
Not crazy, just the way things are at the moment. What happened in the PS1 to PS3 era is entirely irrelevant.Yeah, never been this long between the release and the announcement of a new game in the grand scheme of turismo history. Quite crazy
For sure and i agree but with PDI has always been different and i feel they struggled much more during ps3 era then nowdays. They literally rebuilt everything every single gen but now since gtsport they do not need to. So yeah lots of work but they finally have a continuity with contents and a pipeline on focus if compared to before where they needed to begin from the scratch every single gen. That’s not the case anymore. Not crazy, just the way things are at the moment. What happened in the PS1 to PS3 era is entirely irrelevant.
AAA games are taking longer than ever to develop, and recent Sony practice is to generally only announce games within 12 months of release (there are some exceptions like Wolverine).
5 years is a standard dev time this generation so that would be a 2027 release and a 2026 announcement.

Due to covid. Btw last year, Kaz during the finals started to talk about the future of Gt and made some sort of unofficial announcement but it was a statement anyway. So i really expect some kind of announcements before the end of this year. I would be really surprised if not.Gts was revealed 2015 just 2 years after gt6 released. Gt7 was revealed summer 2020 just little less than 3 years. So this is the longest gap yet without a new reveal yet. And gt7 was even supose to come out in 2021 but got delayed.

What type of announcement (?) Only saw the B-SPEC mode...Due to covid. He literally said that they are full working on the next iteration of Gran Turismo. We knew of course but if he start to talk about it, it means that the official announcement is not too far. And Kaz love to announce quite early his games and release consistently some infos. What type of announcement (?) Only saw the B-SPEC mode...
If Kaz announce something about GT8, he'll waiting the finals on Fukuoka, I doubt any announcement before...He literally said that they are full working on the next iteration of Gran Turismo. The hype is already here whatever is going to happen this year.If Kaz announce something about GT8, he'll waiting the finals on Fukuoka, I doubt any announcement before...
I feel the same. The base GT7 game is good. It's flawed, sure, but a GT8 would also likely be flawed. As long as they keep the DLC coming (ideally adding some tracks in the near future) I don't see a need for a whole new numbered release.I rather see them add to GT7, than come out with another game. It will only lead to, maybe they'll do such and such in GT9. When are they going to announce GT9? lol
Well, GT7 is still selling well but since Gt7 doesn’t have any content under pay wall they basically earn money just selling the base game and i suppose a small amount thanks to the micro transactions which are pretty useless. So they really need to pull out a new game if they still want to earn money.I feel the same. The base GT7 game is good. It's flawed, sure, but a GT8 would also likely be flawed. Or they decide to build the next Gran Turismo in a real evolving platform like a real nowdays gaas. GT7 was a bit too shy in this sense.GT7 doesn’t have a solid enough monetization pipeline to be a “forever game” and keep PD afloat for eternity.
They are already working on the next one and in some capacity even on the one after that because that’s how they make money.
My guess would be we hear about GT8 next year.

In my opinion is not going to happen until Kaz will be around. Every Gt has his unique vibes, style and direction. Every Gt is different from the predecessor. It’s going to be fun the future
I feel that the only reason GT7 has microtransactions at all is just to meet a Sony mandate/checklist. Otherwise they would have been designed in a way that makes people actually likely to buy them.Gran Turismo always seemed like a great fit for Sony’s now failed GAAS push. I was honestly surprised how little GAAS GT7 was.
I expect the next one to lean heavily in post launch monetisation.
It’s so weird. Gtsport had a post lunch Dlc and the mt had much more sense since you were able to buy the car you wanted for a more or less fair price.Gran Turismo always seemed like a great fit for Sony’s now failed GAAS push. I was honestly surprised how little GAAS GT7 was.

It sounds like the deal will end after five years... Was that the agreement from the beginning?
I hope that if someday we get Pikes Peak, it won't be removed 3 days later because of this kind of event. And they add the michelin tyres to the game just a few months back. Classic PD 😂😂😂
