Why do I feel like the silhouettes are posted on Thursdays or Wednesdays and not Sunday like you guys have been saying? Has there been recent exceptions to the rule?
No idea why you feel that, but the most common days by far have been Friday/Saturday/Sunday - though it does depend on what timezone Kazunori Yamauchi is in at the time.
Over the last year the silhouettes have been posted four times on a Friday, twice on a Saturday, once each on a Sunday and Monday. Last April's silhouettes were posted on a Wednesday, the day before the update, and one update had none posted at all.
I'm not expecting a track, with GTWS and Golden Week gobbling up a bunch of work hours.
I would assume if there's one in the pipeline it'd be better suited to a June update (maybe July?) as they've given themselves some wiggle room for a longer gap between updates.
Overdue regardless though, it's been what, coming up on a year now?
Better be a huge track if we have to wait an entire year (would still be disappointing from a time perspective thinking on potential new tracks once they move full to GT8)
Back on the car prediction game, I noticed something quite interesting to say the least in recent weeks.
Around April 19, someone made up a fake silhouette post for the potential April update which was still being expected at the time. The guy who made this fake image even used Kaz's posts style to make it more convincing. The weird part, though, is that I haven't seen anything about this here in GTPlanet. Maybe it got posted here but then quickly got deleted due to its misleading nature, which is understandable, but maybe this actually never got a post around here.
So far so good, just another fake leak, right? Well, if it wasn't for one particular car on this apparently fake selection, I wouldn't even be wasting my time writing this here.
Yup, that's a Fiat Panda there. Two weeks before we got the official information about the Panda being scanned for GT7 through the Giugiaro video. Sure it all can be one hell of a coincidence, but the rest of the list also feels very Gran Turismo if you know what I mean. So, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy leaked the right cars at the wrong time.
Am I saying these are 100% the cars for the next update? Absolutely not! But if it turns out to be true, that's a plot twist right there.
This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet: FIAT Panda Spotted in Gran Turismo in Giorgetto Giugiaro’s Polyphony Digital Tour A new video posted on the official Gran Turismo social media channels has shown more of legendary designer Giorgetto Giugiaro’s recent tour of Polyphony...

To be fair, I said it two weeks ago and you said it on Monday.
I was sort-of hedging that way in my GTWS calendar article in February too, when I pointed out the lack of gaps in the schedule for updates. Though I did originally think end of May after end of March.
Aaaaaanyway, now we have the cars (oops), so it's probably just tracks (lol no), events/books, Scapes, engine swaps, and Sophy supported tracks left to predict...
What seems to be a slip-up in scheduling has revealed the contents of the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 1.59 update, arriving on May 15 and now confirmed to comprise four new cars. While we were sitting and waiting for the usual update teaser, as regularly posted on social media by studio lead Kazunori
I think I've cracked their formula: 1 ugly-ass car that has no business being on a racetrack, one current soulless SUV or HRV or whatever they're called these days, and one racecar or high-end sportscar that is at least 10-15 years old.
Do I win?? In all seriousness I like the oddball vehicles, the C5 is fine, the Ferrari I'm sure pleases someone, and the SUV pleases the corporate partners I guess.
I have very little interest in the Vette and the Superfast (why the hype for either???), but the Carry will certainly be a blast to throw around, and the CRV (being AWD) should be fun in the 550-700 classes, as well as rally. The 812 and the Vette will likely be driven once or twice and then just sit there in the garage collecting dust. I'm sure this isn't a popular opinion, but I'm also sure I'm not alone.

The C5 will be good as it’ll complete the Corvette lineage as mentioned. It’ll also aid in making more accurate Le Mans GT class races of the era.
The 812 is another modern Ferrari. At least we’re edging closer to seeing current Ferrari models.

I'll probably make a 700pp build for the Vette, and add a period specific LM livery, just so I can add it to my 2000's GT Sophy Custom Races. I doubt I'll drive it much myself, however. I've never enjoyed how most Corvettes handle. Not exactly over the moon about the aesthetics either. Just not my cup of tea.
The C5 ZO6 isn't a looker to me either. No matter how good its real world performance is. Not a fan of the notchback and oval taillights. I did drive a C6 convertible for a week and that was much better looking with the round taillights.

Just thinking about engine swaps, we've had a couple of swaps for debut cars and a couple of swaps for cars with swaps already, but they're pretty rare. Usually it's existing swaps for sibling cars and one for a car from the previous update.
I'm going to guess at that being the Kangoo and, as we have no Renault swaps, I was going to say the Clio 220 engine but instead I'll go SR20DET like the Gordini and R5 Turbo. For a laugh, I'll say that'll go in the Renault 4 as well.
That leaves three. I think the C5 will get the C7 ZR1 and/or the Carry gets the 13B next update (although either might be one of the rare ones), so let's say the '03 and '09 Audi TTs join the '14 with the R8 V8, and the last update's Vantage engine into the Gr.4 Aston.
