Fine then...

Please use this thread to make your predictions for, and discuss, Gran Turismo 7's next update.

We're calling it the September/1.63 2025 update because... we have no particular reason to suspect it won't be either of those things, even if we don't know that it'll arrive in September or be called 1.63, but both fit existing information. While Kazunori Yamauchi has stated that the updates aren't monthly by design, we have grown to expect it - though September is a month previously skipped over for a GT7 update and we're currently in the longest unbroken chain of months with updates in a year. Actually the fourth-longest ever, and if one arrives in September that'd make it joint-second...

The pre-update social media posts highlighting content from the previous update can no longer be taken as predictors of an update's timing. GTWS will have its second live event in early September 2025, and we'd expect that some content will be teased at that event; certainly the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo will be there, though we don't know when that's arriving. The timing of the GTWS event - the weekend before we'd expect an update to arrive (fourth Thursday of a month), so this could suggest that the next update will arrive then.

Notes:

  • DON'T POST WISHLISTS
This thread is for predictions (guesses with evidence; see below), not hopes, wishes, wants, or abject rectomancy. If you can't post here without doing that, just don't bother - there are MANY OTHER THREADS for doing that, and this one is not that so don't abuse it.

There are no second chances on this because we've wasted too much time with people who want to divert threads from their purpose and we've gone out of our way to give them enough other places to get it out of their system... Continuing to ignore this very simple instruction will lead to thread bans, and repeat offenders will collect a site-wide ban.

Apropos of that, wishlists go in the Car & Track Wishlist Thread which we made specifically for that purpose:

  • Predictions are guesses with evidence. Given that the entire past history of free Gran Turismo game updates (with one exception) has given us the expectation of the number of cars (single digits) and tracks (one or zero), if you're posting ridiculously long lists of cars and multiple tracks then that's a wishlist. See the first rule. So are lists of brands (multiple) which have never been in the game series before or which have been cut and are showing no signs of returning («coughs» Lotus «coughs»).
  • bUt We DoN't HaVe AnY eViDeNcE. Sure you do. There's been more than 30 content updates now. That shows you what volume of content you can expect and what type of content PD is focusing on. Over the last year it's been filling in generational gaps of certain model lines (see the C5 from 1.59), but there's also been quite a few oddballs lately (Unimog, Kangoo, Carry), some day-to-day modern stuff (so... many... CUVs), some well-placed cars from our Suggestions forum (hey look, another place to express your car/track wishes!), and some 4K-era upgrades to cars from previous games.

On the basis of last month, I suspect it'll be both versions of the Corsa and two other cars which might be:

- Renault 5 EV (slash Alpine A290). We had the Afeela so another electric and it's a no brainer if you ask me.

- Mazda AZ-1. A quirky car in the vein of the Avantime and one that's datamine and people do request often.

Edit: only one Corsa then, I pick:

- BMW M2. Because we haven't got a real world sporty car. And since it got shown at the world series some time ago it's been on my mind.

both Corsas? I didn’t appreciate there was any difference other than the name?

Now the social posts have started I feel pretty confident this will be included in the September update, which I expect will be the 25th as usual.

We’ll go with the following cars (once again, I don’t see any new tracks this time around):
  • Opel Corsa GSE VGT: unveiled and known at this point so no further explanation needed.
  • Mazda RX-7 éfini Type R (FD) ‘91: first style of FD, Japanese 90’s car which was a GT6 premium and a datamine car so makes sense in that regard.
  • Renault Captur 1.6 E-Tech Hybrid ‘23: keeps the theme of family SUV style cars alongside the 2008, CH-R, Qashqai etc, predicting the E-Tech Hybrid engine as its output is about the same as the others (although the actual name they give if it does arrive may differ slightly).
  • Ferrari SF90 Stradale ‘21: a somewhat rogue option but a newer Ferrari as we saw with the 812 isn’t a terrible shout now and again. McLaren 720S more likely earlier than this but could be added to keep the Ferrari roster relatively modern in part.

The Opel Corsa VGT is coming this Autumn, but not specifically September. Assuming there’s going to be an update on September 25th, I think the Opel comes in the following update, otherwise why not say it’s coming this month?

  • 2018 Mazda Roadster (ND) (datamine)
  • 1990 Fiat Panda Super i.e. (from Giorgetto Giugiaro tour)
  • 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GSR (to fill in one of the missing generations)

This will be a typical update. I feel the holiday season will bring GT7’s final big (new circuit) update.

September feels like a likely skip month to me:
  • We've had four straight months of updates; we're kind of about due for a skip.
  • It's only four weeks since the last update, short four week months get skipped more often than longer ones.
  • Neither the Honda eSports event nor the GTWS viewer prizes end at a convenient time for an update when they easily could be - the Honda event especially feels like something that would prefer not to cross over an update.
  • The Opel only being teased for "autumn" implies to me that it, at least, is going to take a little time to show up.
  • There's an admittedly outside chance we get future GT news that would overshadow an update at the rumoured September SoP or Tokyo Game Show.
Lots of little indicators there that by themselves don't mean a whole lot but adding them up paints a solid reasoning to believe in a skipped month.

Going for what seems to be a typical release lineup:

One practical utility vehicle from the last 5 years: 2023 Toyota Rav4 Prime
One model gap filler that always seems to be the pre-facelift version of said model: 2008 Mazda MX-5
One oddball euro-youngtimer: 1997 Mercedes A210L Evolution

Alternate oddball: Mitsubishi Delica

We’ll go with the following cars (once again, I don’t see any new tracks this time around):
  • Opel Corsa GSE VGT: unveiled and known at this point so no further explanation needed.
  • Mazda RX-7 éfini Type R (FD) ‘91: first style of FD, Japanese 90’s car which was a GT6 premium and a datamine car so makes sense in that regard.

If this would be the case, it'd be the best updste since I've played this game ( since december). Just because of the SF90.

Tbh, I think we're done here. We'll get that Opel as promised and a bunch of small content additions(menu books, scaped ect.)

Corsa German Variant (LHD)

With Opel returning there is the chance of the old Calibra but I think that is less likely but they do make eCUVs in the Mokka or Grandland (don’t know what the continental variants are called)

With some of the updates there vision cars are offset by more current or iconic cars so the new M5 hybrid or M2 comp would fall in that bracket.

Otherwise scapes, bug fixes and some random geometry/texturing issues being fixed

The Opel VGT looks like a no brainer here.

For a while, Kaz filled up certain car families such as the Corvettes, the Lancer Evo, and the Audi TT. Now, apart from SUVs and quirky cars, he also seems to be interested in French cars.
Since the beginning of 2025, we've had two Renaults, two Peugeots, and one Citroën. So I would bet more on a new Citroën or a DS this time.

  • Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo '25
  • Citroën Xsara VTS 16V '00
  • Mazda Autozam AZ-1 '92 (datamided)

- 3 new events at World Circuits (VGT Trophy / European Sunday Cup 400 / Lightweight K-Cup)

- If we are given a Citroën or a DS that can be purchased at Brand Central : Citroën Museum added

  • no scapes
  • no extra menu
  • no menu book.

  • Opel Corsa VGT
  • I repeat: Since I just bought a 1998 MX-5, I’m calling the NB Roadster 1800 RS ‘98. :sly:
  • Toyota GR Yaris GTS (Automatic) '25
  • Ferrari 512 S Berlinetta '69

Subaru Impreza WRX '10 (not much to explain, it appears in the datamine and its and obvious car for pd to add)
Fiat Panda '91 (Possibly ready to get added)
And one modern-ish super/hypercar which can be really anything, like an 720S or M4 G82. Or maybe an F80, it seems like kaz likes modern hypercars (Mission X and Valkyrie) but no so much modern supercars. Or even Daytona SP3. I heavily expect something more from Ferrari, since in GT7 we only saw getting added the 812 and the VGT. I dont expect any SUV.

I dont expect the Opel coming in September, i see it in october or maybe november. They could have just said september instead of autumn. But im not sure

The only confirmed cars I know that will come for sure in the future are the Corsa GSE VGT, as well as the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra & the Xiaomi VGT. However, here are vehicles I believe might come for 1.63!
1. Opel/Vauxhall Corsa GSE VGT
2. Mazda Autozam AZ-1 (Datamine)
3. Fiat Coupe (Datamine)
4. Citroen 2CV
This is not a wishlist, but my prediction on which vehicles have chance of coming in the game, based on the latest few Updates.

The Opel Vision GSE could show up based on 'Autumn' as much as it might not.

A returning car, one that was treated with extra care by the devs from its first introduction with an open roof and interior colour changes - the Mercedes SL55 AMG.

The Panda 1000, for fitting in the quirky car mould of recent updates.

And I've given up hoping for a new track, now.

Your list sounds decent enough actually.

I would replace the Fiat with an SUV, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

This looks good as well, however i love to see them simulate the rather „slow“ (downshifts in particular) 5G Tronic transmission properly first.

Also:
  • new scapes
  • no track
  • 3 new events
  • …aaaand finally another new sophy track

I‘m going to go out on a limb and predict that we‘re going to get the following four cars:
  • Corsa VGT (it‘s been more or less confirmed by now)
  • Mercedes 500 E (part of the datamined car list and it‘s long overdue)
  • McLaren 720S (it would make sense since the latest McLaren road car is ten years old at this point)
  • Some Japanese sports car from the late 80‘s or early 90‘s, maybe a first gen RX-7 or R30 Skyline

I think the ho-hum content updates the past couple months, has been in order to facilitate a big wind up for one last big update in this game’s life. A Spec 3.0 if you will. I reckon it will drop in tandem with either the September or November rounds of GTWS.

  • Buick GNX
  • Silverstone
  • B-Spec Bob for custom Sophy endurance races.
  • Curated “as promised” endurance races for both PS4 consoles as well as Sophy-enabled PS5 players
  • Sophy added to Daytona, at a minimum
