Gran Turismo 7 trophies on PS5 & PS4

Hello there!

I know trophies are probably not a main concern for most of you, but I have to point some bugs in collecting them on both platforms simultaneously.
Right now, when you obtain some trophy on PS5 or PS4, you have to repeat the task on second platform to get it (example: you complete all licences on gold on PS5, so on PS4 you have to finish just one license to get that trophy, same with distance or buying a cars). It's like semi-pop.

Problem is with "story" trophies, like finishing Cafe Menu or reaching Finale credits. If you do it on PS5 or PS4, you can't obtain those trophies on second platform in any way possible, because your save file is stored on servers and game thinks you already did it (but doesn't give you the trophy for it). Even replaying whole championship or spending some time in Cafe Menu, it does nothing. So I assume this is a little oversight from Polyphony and I hope they will fix it somehow.

But maybe some of you know some secret way to obtain them on second platform? Maybe if we speak up, some PD staff will see it and fix it for us.

This is a major issue that has went relatively under the radar for now since not many people will have tried to play both versions. It is currently IMPOSSIBLE to earn the "LIVING YOUR CAR LIFE" "STUDENT OF MOTORING HISTORY" and "FINALE" TROPHIES if you have beaten the campaign / career on ONE VERSION of the game (in my case PS4 EU) BEFORE switching to another (in my case PS5) using the SAME PSN ACCOUNT. I hope polyphony can fix this as a matter of urgency! There are plenty of people posting about this issue here and there online so the more people that speak out the sooner it can be corrected 🤞🏻 rewatching the final credits, completing the race tournaments again, purchasing the cars used in the cafe menus again all solve nothing

Unfortunately we cannot transfer our trophy progress from PS4 to PS5 and Vice Versa. This is a major problem that probably don't many people know yet. All three story related trophies cannot be triggered while every other trophy pops once you make the same action needed for the trophy

The problem is, that we can repeat some tasks and get all trophies related to it (distance, licences, etc.). But when it comes to story trophies, there's no way to repeat task and get them again on second platform, that's why they should just auto-pop on each platform after getting. Save files are on server side, so it should be mandatory.
 
No not yet mate just on the known issues in game they state 4 different things at the moment and not one of them is the major trophy issue affecting everybody who starts a second version after they've beaten a first. Just gotta keep spreading the message no matter how long it takes 🤣🙄
 
I suppose this isn't critical as a lot of the other fixes they are doing as it can always be patched later without the bug really affecting current progress or gameplay. But it sure is quite a serious bug for the trophy hunters out there.
 
Nothing has changed as of yet. Important to keep this thread active so more people can see it and get the message out. I had to send photos out to a specialist playstation team yesterday showing that the trophies had not crossed over properly from ps4 to ps5 versions. I sent 9 different images showing how one game has 49/54 and the other has 52/54, the cafe menus are complete, the credits are unlocked, the championships have been won etc. I covered all avenues. I would highly advise everybody to contact live chat and do the same. The more awareness the sooner the fix 🤞🏻

Just start a new account on the PS4 and away you go only 1 account needs to have PS+ i have 4 accounts lol

Some of us have an account with hundreds of platinums and a 100% completion rate, it's the ps5 version that is currently locked out of trophies for me, why would I sacrifice all that to start fresh because some trophies are bugged? I'd rather people teamed up and got the message across rather than sacrificed years of hardwork and dedication to settle for one plat instead of the two they should have

They are not bugged you have received them on that account reset your ps5 to factory then retransfer your account over. Why should they give you 2 trophies for the same game on the same account.

You have no idea how trophies work... First of all, console see GT7 for PS5 and for PS4 as separate games, they are not the same game per se. Problem is, that save file is on their severs and works for both platforms. Normally you would have separate save files for each game and there wouldn't be any problems. This is how auto-pop works, because devs allows people to transfer save files from old gen to current gen, so trophies transfers too. With GT7 it's completely otherwise because save is on sever side, not console side.

Have you paid for 2 copies of the game? I know exactly how trophies work you just want trophies for nothing they are the same game unless you have paid for 2 copies. Just because you want trophies for free doesn't mean they have to let you have them.

Just so you're aware, GT7 has a single, automatically transferred and synched game save. That means that if you play the game on PS4 and PS5, the save moves between the consoles. It does not treat the PS4 and PS5 versions as two different games, but as the same game with the same savegame.

The issue with it is that the Trophy list is not synching with it. If you play some of the game on one console and switch to the other, you won't have the Trophies you acquired move with you.

In most cases this isn't a direct issue - you can do the thing needed for the Trophy a second time and it will pop on the other console. However there are three Trophies that are part of gameplay progress and you cannot repeat them.

This means that you cannot acquire a full set of Trophies on both PS4 and PS5, and if you pick up any of the three Trophies on one platform and any of the other two on another, you cannot acquire a full set at all and Platinum becomes impossible on both.


It's well worth checking up on this sort of thing before you start insulting other users for a lack of knowledge when it's actually your own knowledge that's lacking.

It would be great if you could mention this bug on one of your known issues sort of threads since they get an immense amount of views and polyphony are known to check this site for issues! I'm not sure if you already have or not but it would me a massive help to the many users stuck in this predicament :) thank you very much
 
One thing that has never been something I have looked at with any playstation game, since the first console, is trophies, not interested one bit.

Because you cant print them out to your 3d printer and stick them on a mantel piece because they are just digital and worthless lol

Plenty of cross gen games give trophies for doing the same thing. It’s called auto popping. Like you get a platinum trophy in the ps4 game and it gives you another for the ps5 version with the same save.

Like spider man, bugsnax, uncharted do this.

wow AND i truely dont care i get my moneys worth out of games i enjoy playing i dont waste real money on games to get fake trophies. There is more to life have you seen the news lately?

A problem they need to solve in a not too distant future. Unfortunately they’ve got quite a few other problems ongoing at the moment as we all know and I’m afraid the priority of this one may be lower than we hope.

@ZEGOLFMAN, I’m feeling shockingly friendly right now so I’ll just give you the advice of reading through this whole thread once again, including your own posts. You’d do yourself a favour, I’ll say that much.
 
Nice typical generic response from playstation not understanding the issue at all and completely wasting my time. Thankfully this is not from the specialist team, this is just a reply from a clueless agent who has no idea about the situation. Replies like this are wholly insulting, talking to us like we don't understand the basics of the trophy function after many years of trophy hunting and hundreds of platinums 🤣 hopefully the specialist team on my main email know better

It is indeed, I will sell most of my normal cars to stock up on credits and then I won't have to grind fisherman's ranch anymore 🤣 I have around 154 cars that I barely need, would have much more if I wasn't saving all my credits for the legendary cars trophy 🤓
