This is what I'm hoping for too. I'm very happy to see the Elantra N grace the game, is GT7 is sorely lacking in FWD 4-doors/5-doors outside of the Civic. Almost every 4 door has been RWD/AWD and most front drivers have been Coupes or 3-door Hatchbacks.Hopefully going off what we were able to do with the Ioniq 5N , we get the parts to turn the Elantra N into this:

Or if not, this kinda works too I guess:

Inside the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R
――The Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R, displayed at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, represents a significant project for Mazda Spirit Racing. What can you share about the model at this stage?
Maeda:
This car is, without question, the culmination of our race-derived expertise, know-how, and real-world testing results. The 12R model, limited to 200 units, features a 2-liter engine producing 200 horsepower—which is the maximum power we can currently extract from a production model Mazda MX-5 engine. We've incorporated race-developed technology into the suspension, with settings similar to our Super Taikyu race car. Each unit is carefully hand-assembled to ensure consistency, which adds significant value. It's completely different from other mass-production models in so many ways.
――Have you driven this model yourself?
Maeda:
Yes, I recently tested it at Okayama International Circuit. Naturally, it’s no match for our Super Taikyu car’s movement or lap times, but I’d say it’s the fastest Mazda MX-5 available right now. With its increased displacement, it has a slightly different positioning to the current model, but we've kept the lightweight, sporty character. And as it's a commercially available production model, we've designed it with everyday driving in mind, and gone for a comfortable ride rather than a stiff suspension setup.
――The concept model generated quite a buzz when it was unveiled at last year’s Auto Salon. Now that it's moving to production, do you see this elevating Mazda Spirit Racing's presence as a brand?
Maeda:
I want to be clear: we don’t see Mazda Spirit Racing as a sub-brand that uses racing merely as a marketing tool to launch cars. Our vision is to refine both our people and technology in the demanding environment of motorsports, and then translate those achievements into products. To put it bluntly, if our racing results hadn’t measured up, cancelling development of the production model was always an option. Having proven ourselves on the track means we can proudly offer the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R to our customers with complete confidence.
The persistence that they always refer to the car as a Mazda Spirit Racing with is making me wonder if MSR are going to get their own separate tuner brand that this will go into à la Nismo.About the Mazda Spirits Racing Roadster 12R:

The “MAZDA SPIRIT RACING ROADSTER 12R” drew great attention at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025. We spoke with Mr Ikuo Maeda, head of MAZDA SPIRIT RACING, about its launch story and his vision for the future.www.mazda.com
Welp, if it is the japanese spec ia closer to 200 hp so it is something else180 odd horses from 2L NA isn’t special dear Mazda..
I remember reading that some tracks new were ready for Sport, they just decided to "save" them for 7.How do you know ?
Well that's sad but his legacy is more than secured in the history of automotive culture.Aww, speaking of the Roadster, Tom Matano, chief designer of the NA Miata has passed away.
Maybe PD will pay a tribute.
so, you dont really know. do you..?I remember reading that some tracks new were ready for Sport, they just decided to "save" them for 7.
It would be very strange if the same thing wasn't happening now. I mean, the entire studio isn't working on the 3~5 cars that arrive monthly to 7. GT8 (or whatever they call it) must be in full production for more than 2 years now.

Almost none of modern Ferrari is Sophy-compatible as well and they've been in game for quite some timeHoping they finally add the C5 Z06 to Sophy as it's not been 2(?) updates since it's been added and it's still not available for Sophy AI to use.
I don't think we will get them until GT8 at this point. There needs to be proper multi-class implementation too and but just a lazy longer race time option. We need (more) Endurance Races...!
Subaru doesn't have a huge model lineup, but they do have a lot of modifications, which provides a lot of variety. Unfortunately, among older cars, the new ones are very boring. I understand this is a utopia, but:Crazy to thing about these two brands:
Chevrolet has 20 cars, but only one is not a Camaro or a Corvette. Subaru has 16 cars, but all of them are either BRZs or Imprezas/WRXs.
These two brands desperately need variety.
I will assume that you're being serious and agree with you 👍Good that we get another SUV, the game really needs more of those 👍
With double figures they’ll soon have their own championshipI will assume that you're being serious and agree with you 👍
Have they ever been this active on X? Have they ever mentioned so much the "awesome machinery shown"? These days even a kaz fart that sounds like a V10 gets me hopium. Also first time they reposted Kaz silhouttes on X
The main social media is now being headed by one of the chaps who used to do GT Academy back in the day.
If he’s ex GT Academy he might be one of those evil EsportersA real GT fan i guess, hope he gives some good ideas to PD regarding career mode![]()

Not as a player, one of the PR peeps. They are mostly GT5 era players. The last good GT, 1 or 2 things they definelitely know
Thrilled with the Elantra N coming, imo one of the modern stalwarts, that's not a sports car, or an SUV. A modern front wheel drive performance saloon, yes please.
To give the Elantra a rear wheel drive dancing partner, would of been great to have a Toyota RS200 or something similar over the SUV, but let's not start that.
Was half hoping the convertible sillheoute was an S2000 AP2, would have been the better car imo, and certianly no more of a clone than the MX-5. But it's still cool to see, I read that the 12R was one of the two special versions with the 200HP not the 184hp non 12R version?
It was great how PD modelled in the C West body kit for the Nismo R34 GTR N tune, once you apply the wide body feature to it in the game. It enabled us to resemble the final iteration of the Falken R34 race car the N tune was inspired from with the aesthetics to match!

This C-West body kit, also seemed to be the inspiration for the Gran Turismo original, the TC R34 race car. So you could argue it's practically back in the game. The wide body feautre when teased before GT7's launch was how I originally hoped some of Gran Turismo's TC cars would virtually make an appearance in GT7.

So I actually dared hoped PD would let us do something really 'special' with this 'special' 12R and have an option to add a hard top (maybe some how within the aero parts list in GT auto?) so we can visibly turn it into the super taikyu race car that the 12R is also officially based on.

The 12R would be a nice template to do this from, and it would be an extra modification in addition from what we can already do with the existing roadsters in the game.

SUVs are the best thing about GT7. The only type of car I use in the game.I will assume that you're being serious and agree with you 👍
