Hi guys i was wondering if anyone has done this championship yet in the expert series? what car did you use? i just brought a brand new Toyota YellowHat yms Supra tuned it up fully only to find my pace is nowhere near as good as the ai.. :( and theres nothing in the used cars

funny that i find this thread right now,

im racing that championship right now, 4 gold so far, 1 race left to go.

im using a ferarri 458 with slight tunes and medium slick tires, winning every race with 20 seconds ahead of number 2.

and its finished :)

get the 458, its a DREAM to drive!

thanks mate. ill give it a go right now

I haven't tried this race yet, but I do own the 458 and can confirm that it's awesome. Best car so far by a long stretch.

after that championship u get a veyron and a calefornia for free :)

godius strangely enough i just brought the car and though it handles well i could only manage just about 2nd on grand valley and I'm sure i was driving good. i don't understand how u managed a 20 second gap with the car. are you sure this was the same championship because you win a veyron in gran turismo world championship which is much easier. i hope you didnt get confused. what was your race time on grand valley?

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker here and this is my very 1st post. It was the very mention of the Ferrari 458 that dragged me in! I have it fully tuned (cost a fortune) and it's just sublime. You won't regret it.

See you around here.

im not sure about my lap times, im in another championship atm, so i cant check, but yeah im sure its the same as you are talking about.

5 races in total, each 5 laps. won each race by about a 20sec margin

There is Le Mans that is 2 laps and the Ring that is 1. But otherwise the rest are 5 laps.

I have been trying to win this All Stars championship (lvl 19) and my best is an all round 3rd place finish with a Veyron.

The only car that I've tried is the Veyron, and I managed to win the first 2 races, only through consistently blocking the AI from passing me. The 3rd, 4th and 5th races were much more difficult because the Veyron's handling is very stiff.

Anybody know how to obtain the Mazda 787 or 727 (think thats right)? I cannot compete with the LM Race cars etc on the technical courses because I have not yet got a car with a balance of acceleration, top speed and handling that can rival those on the All Stars event. I'm level 20 with about 2 million in cash.

Any help is appreciated.

Seconded, the 458 just doesn't have the aero to compete with these cars.

Guys... seems like Godius is talking about the GT World Championship, not the Allstar..... Coz he mentioned the Veyron being the prize.....

i'm level 20 and saved up a million bucks...tried a fully tuned mines skyline gt-r but still got destroyed...

any other options beside trying to snipe race cars in the used section? i'm thinking the sauber sounds like a good idea cause u can do historic with it too

I used the Toyota Minolta. You win it from Like the Wind and I completed that by using Corvette ZR1 - RM + Tuned.

Hoooooow? Just spend 600k on that car and mods and it has 890HP and after a few seconds i'm in last place!

Yeah, that would be the most sensible thing to do. In the end I managed to win the championship with my YellowHat Supra. I also managed to win "Like the Wind" with it, great car. Definitely one of the most enjoyable challenges yet for me from gt5.

btw does anyone know where to get the formula gran turismo car?

I have a Corvette Z06 RM (1090kg, 601hp) and I was thinking about fully tuning it for this championship. Do you think the money would be well spent? If not, what other cars?

I just read that you win the Toyota Minolta from Gone Like The Wind... Maybe I'll level to 20 first (I'm 19) before doing this championship

Try the Audi R8 :-) 888hp and 4 wheel drive.

What car did you use to win the Like the Win events?

I just tried a Nascar in like the wind and that didnt work

I used the Ferrari 458 Italia and it does the job up to the All-star event. But in this event, the Race Cars are much quicker and you have to be more than perfect to win. If a Race car overtakes you, there is almost to chance to regain the lead.

The Corvette ZR-1 RM is a much faster car than the 458, but importantly, you have to buy the RM kit. The RM mod gives you the aero package with wings.

I like to use Suzuka to tune as its a track I driven a lot and it has all types of corners. My 458 is reasonably tuned and I can drive Suzuka at 2:00.5 lap time. My ZR-1 RM is not well tuned yet, but I have no problems getting it to a 1:52.4 lap time, 8 seconds faster than the 458 Italia. It's in a different league.

I tested the ZR-1 RM in two of the All-star races, and performance is on level with the race cars. I even let one past me for fun (a C9 i think), and there was no problems to overtake it again and win. The ZR-1 RM is clearly a good enough car to get all Gold in the All-star events.

My conclusion. If you cannot afford a Race car (I can't), the ZR-1 RM might be the best car out there. It's about 600-700K credits with all mods including the important RM mod included.
