This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Yeah!
Yes.Has GTP ever posted a SoP link before???
There's apparently going to be a deep dive into Final Fantasy 7 Revelation which might be the main focus tomorrow.
It'd be nice to get something Gran Turismo related too, there will be other stuff. I'm looking forward to details of GT8 more than updates to GT7 at this point though. Not sure we're that close to a GT8 reveal yet though.
I hope GT8 is for PS6. The dream would be PS6 exclusive but that seems unlikely. There's apparently going to be a deep dive into Final Fantasy 7 Revelation which might be the main focus tomorrow.

I don't see GT8 being announced until the PS6 is officially announced, in a Future of Gaming show sometime next year or 2028.I can imagine GT8 being revealed during the SoP and then Kaz hosting a few minute long deep dive in the Japanese version.
Maybe unpopular opinion but I don't think Spec IV is ever happening at this point. Spec III had good marketing and generated hype for the game but barely introduced anything new feature wise.
That's what common sense tells us ... but I don't 100% discard an scenario where PS6 is pushed back even later than what we can foresee and that could bring the question to the table to whether PD release GT8 for PS5 or keep enhancing GT7 with some of the features intended for GT8.I don't see GT8 being announced until the PS6 is officially announced, in a Future of Gaming show sometime next year.
The Japan anniversary is so late in the year, in video game release terms, it may as well be 2028 and so tie-in with the worldwide release anniversary. I think Naughty Dog's next game is supposed to be the big late 2027 game for Playstation anyway. That's what common sense tells us ... but I don't 100% discard an scenario where PS6 is pushed back even later than what we can foresee and that could bring the question to the table to whether PD release GT8 for PS5 or keep enhancing GT7 with some of the features intended for GT8.
I mean, that late-2027 30th anniversary date looms big for GT purposes. So, if no PS6 on the horizon, would PD & Sony not use the big date for the next GT release? Because one thing is clear in my mind, GT8 will be cross-gen.
Indeed, I think the questionnaires served two purposes as you can deem them applicable to the current GT7 installment or the next GT game. I don't particularly have any problems with them monetizing thru GT7 (new powerpack DLCs) or a brand new GT8, as long as the ROI for us is fair! The Japan anniversary is so late in the year, in video game release terms, it may as well be 2028 and so tie-in with the worldwide release anniversary. I think Spec 4 is more likely and probably another DLC pack. The Sony/Playstation management have been quite clear recently that their current priority is monetizing the existing userbase as much as possible.
Well, not long to go now to see if Gran Turismo will make an appearance...SOP on September the 3rd.
