Sadly I've already been spoiled. He posted the race on his own channel a few days ago
Also true. I was in it a bit as well

I think you can hear me saying the end of "Oh great, I won't be able to blame the equipment now, and I've got to be in the seat a man six inches taller than me has been in for 20 minutes."

Seems that the Invitational race will be broadcast in two days' time, but if you don't want to know the result I'd advise not even looking at the thumbnail...

I too was in this stream.

If you're playing the Famine drinking game, you're going to be relatively safe to drive

...Oh? I wonder what do you know?
Cryptic from @Jordan
"A unique event for Gran Turismo fans"... 🤔

GT8 announcement ???
(Nah, seems too early with Spec 3 incoming)

Also, where's my 30% discount from London! :shrugs shoulders:

[Edit - toned down the post in case of others not appreciating my sense of humour]

I'm going to the LA one, thanks for the discount GTplanet

Anyone else going?
I’ll be heading there!! I live not too far away… with how much I’ve been playing GT7 it’d be a crime if I didn’t 🤣 I figure it’ll be a fun event to take the wife and kids to… might see some cool cars and my 3 yr-old son is basically fascinated by anything with wheels that moves fast 💪

I haven’t been following any GT esports for a while, but I’m gonna be in the area visiting my dad for a couple weeks while it’s on, might end up rolling through!!!
It doesn't matter if you are not following them, I was the same at the London event but when you're there watching it all live, you can't help but get swept up in the excitement of it all.

Yeah frankly I probably won’t even care, just being there to meet fellow GT fans and probably some of their dev staff is more than enough enticement for me.

If I can get tickets I’ll definitely have my physical copies of 5 and 7 and a sharpie on hand in case I’m lucky enough to run into Kaz. I got my copy of NFS ProStreet signed by John Hindhaugh (he voices the European DJ) while I was at COTA for WEC, I’ve had good luck in meeting Motorsport staff this year.

Despite all my beef with how 7 has played out I’d love to show Kaz my near 1:1 replica of my Celica I own IRL.

Once more, a friendly reminder I have a Discord group up and running for the LA live event. If nothing else, you can ask in there for rides in case anyone is offering or to split the cost of an Uber. It was about $70 to Uber from LAX to Downtown last time I checked. Also want to see if there's people around for a trip to the Peterson Museum on Friday/early Saturday.

Message me for the Discord invite.

Seems like a pretty big jump to make just 2 weeks before the event? They expect to get cars, for people to book travel, hotels, all that stuff?

That is why thr message is focused to people on LA area, also this bring more attention to small shops or personal projects while in SEMA usually are efforts from big well known shops or even brands

They realize that some people care about zero mileage in virtual cars.

Different dates for the prize redemption - Monday 10th Nov for the credits, Wed 26th Nov for the cars.

Race structure:

Road Atlanta for both quali and grand final in the manufacturers cup.

Daytona Road (in evil Red Bull) for quali, Watkins Glen (in a fridge) for sprint, back to Daytona (and the evil RB) for the grand final of the Nations.

Wed 26th Nov in LA would be Thu 27th Nov in UK, the last Thursday of the month 🤔

Thats the "normal" update day which is surely not a coincidence ?
Could this mean an update of some kind is coming on the 27th? Asking for a friend who might have to rearrange his plans... (cough @Famine cough)

WHO CARES ABOUT TWO ZERO MILE CHEAP CARS?????
GIVE US ONE OR 2 OF 20 MIL CARS TO BE GENEROUS!!!!
100%, and while we are in Vegas and all competition will happen on US tracks, give us US cars !

Not saying we should get 20M cars, but not 90's Japan car we can already get for low credits (I have already multiple of each one)

Having 2J and X2019 back-to-back in Nations makes me miss the fan versions of the X-series cars, I admit.
