The Gran Turismo World Series is officially returning to the United States for the first time since 2019, and it’s headed to Los Angeles on November 8, 2025.
For this event the chosen venue is the historic and beautifully restored Orpheum Theatre in the heart of downtown. With its ornate, French-inspired interior, the Orpheum will offer a unique backdrop for the competition, standing in sharp contrast to the modern stages that typically host esports events.
From what I’m hearing behind the scenes, this is shaping up to be a unique event for Gran Turismo fans. If you have a chance to attend, trust me: you won’t want to miss it. To celebrate, we’re excited to announce that GTPlanet has secured discounted tickets exclusively for our readers and community members.
If you want to take advantage of the discounted price, visit the official event website and enter the code GTPLANET30 during checkout for 30% off your ticket price. Tickets are going fast, with premium options already selling out, so be sure to make your reservations quickly if you plan on attending. I will be there and I’m looking forward to connecting with fellow GTPlanet members!

Outside of Japan, there is no city in the world with as much real-world history connected to Gran Turismo as Los Angeles, and the city has often been the stage for significant announcements.
Gran Turismo PSP was revealed in Los Angeles in 2009, where Kazunori Yamauchi’s translator became an internet meme. In 2012, the camouflaged Corvette C7 Prototype was announced for Gran Turismo 5 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and the following year, Gran Turismo 6 was playable to attendees at E3. The groundbreaking GT6 GPS Data Visualizer was also first demonstrated to GTPlanet not far from the city at Willow Springs Raceway.
Beyond the games themselves, LA has been central to Gran Turismo’s cultural footprint. The city was a key filming location for the 2014 documentary KAZ: Pushing the Virtual Divide, and more recently, the Gran Turismo movie held its first screening at the Micheaux Film Festival in Los Angeles in July 2023. This connection has also fostered unique collaborations, from GT Academy’s “Racer X” competition in 2013 to a pop-up “Gran Turismo Cafe” established to promote Gran Turismo 7 with celebrities like Sung Kang.
Fashion and merchandise have also played a role in the city’s Gran Turismo history. Exclusive hoodies from the “Undefeated” brand were released at the 2016 PlayStation Experience, where the first 4K GT Sport footage was also revealed. The following year saw more limited-run apparel from iconic brands like BAPE and Anti-Social Social Club.
Now this Gran Turismo World Series event is set to write the next chapter of the franchise’s historic connection to the City of Angels, and you can be a part of it. See you there!
