This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo’s FIA Partnership Could Return in 2023

A recent interview with the FIA’s director of innovative sports activities, Frederic Bertrand, has revealed that the relationship between the motorsport governing body and Gran Turismo hasn’t ended, but is merely on a pause right now...

So the entire reason SPORT was online only was because of the FIA stuff right? Well if thats no longer present WHY IS GT7 ONLY ONLY?

It’s the line people have been fed but the real scenario is likely inventory security.

In other words, if your saves are “always online” you can’t hack in free cars and credits, or fudge with game physics.

Not the first game to do it, won’t be the last.

"We’ve reached out to Sony Interactive Entertainment for any comment."

Why would you not wait for a comment?

This article is off 1 source. They claim this was at the French GP to promote the FIA Motorsport Games but only 1 person gave 1 interview to Motorsport.com?

Its Been A Long Time Reaction GIF

This article is off 1 source.
The source on the FIA's decision-making in this process being the person at the FIA making the decisions. And the venue and occasion are indeed real:

However, much though I trust Jon, paragraph 5 starts off with an entirely suitable qualifier.

I hope the FIA waits until we get a propper nativ ps5 version and not that overcooked ps4 version.
Then right now both console suffers from it. In my eyes gt7 looks and runs wors then gtsport on Ps4 and gt7 isnt that good, like the Ps5 deserved.
Its like cyberpunk. The next gen version is also nothing else then an overcooked ps4 version with a ps5 batch on it.

Cross gen sucks…..

They would have had to delay the game then (probably would have been a good idea anyways lol) because people still cant get their hands on a PS5 at face-price unless luck or extreme determination (like how I got mine + it was a gamestop bundle...). They'd be leaving out a HUGE portion of their fanbase and thus $$$.

I would have no prob to wait 1 more year.
Gtsport is still a good and moste important stabel and complete game.
It runs on both console together absolut fine without any problem.

Nativ ps5 code would prob. result in full 4k 60fps hardware accelaratet raytraycing ingame.

Honestly i dont think that gt7 will age the same way like gtsport.
They have to split or drop the ps4 version.

Ps:
PD split both already in daily races, i guess they know they cant fix the problem to bring both consols together without downgrading the ps5 version.

Theres no way of knowing if the PS5 is readily available next year. I have one since day one and am happy I can do the CE against my brother who's on the ps4. I don't give a **** about raytracing. I am happy they didn't wait another year.

But you could also play gtsport on ps5 vs ps4. I mean it overall. Gt7 would ended in a way better game. More content, better quality and the overall expirience.
Right now Is nearly unplayable in open lobby. The content for singleplayer isnt enough.

It isnt consistent enough for FIA in my opinion.

And a bit more bushes and trees are not a propper ps5 version.
Ps4/gtsport engine is limited and cant be streched more and cause the state like it is.

I feel that this just proved that GT7 was not ready to be launch, Sony push PD to Release the game and made sure it was on ps4 as well as ps5,

We all know the the game is broken in 2 place online and bop

I think pd should of got at least 3-6 month more befor it came out.

I'm really curious about this Sim Racing Ranking System. It sounds like something that will work across multiple different games but I wonder if it will be limited only to Official Leagues (GTWS, F1 Official Game, NASCAR eSports and so on...) or if Private Leagues can also apply to become FIA Accredited and qualify for points as well...

Sooner or later the issue of governing body is going clash. FIA or ESport.

In Canada FIA presence is small (they do own the rights to the F1 race though). But the ESport governing body is growing rapidily. Motorsport events are decreasing and aging, ESport events are growing especially among the young.

Globaly, considering markets like China and India, the umbrella for ESport may be much larger than Motorsport.

How long can the FIA stay relevant in gaming? EA/FIFA may have been a sign of change.

Yes! But it’s now out and they have to to the best out of it.

They were already given an extra year and a bit.

They've also now had another 4 months since release and not done much with it.

I would say the game is in a much better position than it was when it launched, but it's still much worse than GT Sport, especially lobbies

at least we don't have the Start Line Bug anymore, but we still don't have Post Race Results or the ability to save pre-set lobby settings
