GPEKC
The GPEKC was GTPlanet's first karting series for Gran Turismo 5 which began in Feburuary 2011 and ran for 10 series. After a break over the summer the second season of endurance karting is about to begin. The GPEKC combines the length of a Grand Prix with excitement of karting on Gran Turismo and a bit of strategy thrown in for extra fun.
The second endurance season will consist of 12 gruelling races between september and december of this year on sundays at 8pm BST and then GMT when the clocks change. There will be a prize for the winner of the series and also prizes for 2nd and 3rd places. Not to mention the amount of credits brought in by finishing the races.
Rules
Grip Reduction: Real
Penalties: Weak
Tyre/Fuel depletion: On
Time delay: 180 seconds
Fastest first
False start check: On if connection is fine
Boost: Off
Due to a vote last season bump drafting is allowed however not in corners.
This is strictly forbidden and may result in penalties after the race if the offending driver does not make up for his mistake (letting the driver he spun back through). Other rules are the same as the OLR guidelines on the GTPlanet with a link to follow. If you wish to report an incident please PM me via PSN or GTPlanet an I will check the replay. The points system is the same as the current Formula 1 system:
1st- 25pts
2nd- 18pts
3rd- 15pts
4th- 12pts
5th- 10pts
6th- 8pts
7th- 6pts
8th- 4pts
9th- 2pts
10- 1pt
In order to score points you must be on the track at the end. Finishing within 180 seconds is not necessary but being in the points and on track at the time is. Your best 11 of 12 results count allowing you to miss one race or someone with a bad connection to not be too badly affected hopefully.
Qualifying is 10 minutes and you are allowed an unlimited amount of laps in that time. Pit stops are not mandatory but will take place at most races if you
want finish. London does not have a pit lane and so the laps are limited to 36 fuel preservation there may be useful.
Calendar
The lobby will be open between 7pm and 7:30pm on sundays with qualifying at 7:50pm with an autostart at 8pm. These times may be changed later in the season if drivers feel it crashes with Top Gear (important but will be on iplayer).
