I used to play this as a child on my moms pc. Got older, forgot about it as I grew older. Got into console racings games cause of easy of access. Recently I've been fed up with the limitations of gt5. So I recently downloaded one of the best sims around, GPL. I've spent the last week modding and updating the game so it doesn't freeze or force quit the game. It's a blast to play! Im using my ps3 controller to play why I await word back from Fanatec support(We all know this is tiresome). None the less, the game is amazing. Anybody else still play?

Yeah I noticed but like you said not many people visit so I thought I'd try to start up some fresh GPL convo lol.

I pick it up from time to time but truth be told I prefer Project CARS when I want some classic F1 to happen to me. I only got it sometime last year though so I was only about 14 years late to the party, but I was and still am astonished by how good it looks and sounds for such an old game. I mean it even has cockpits! In 1998!

The game was my childhood. I still have a copy, and I fire it up rather frequently just to take the old Type 49 for a spin.

Well that's this thread killed then! I do wish these forums would be restructured, why GPL has a subforum hidden away over here and games like BF3 don't is beyond me.

But yeah, go get a copy from Amazon, it's only about two or three currencies now.

I haven't played it since early 2010 but I still remember blasting through the Isle of Man track. So much fun.

The forums have been structured to keep all the racing/driving games together which is why GPL, Dirt, NFS etc are here and BF3 is not.

I can understand your frustration, but things need to go where they should go, and until such times as Jordan re-structures the forums, this is where it should go.

And we all know where GPL can be bought from, so lets just stop the talk of torrents and downloading, or I will have to kill you.

Yeah, I understand entirely. I did open a thread about this a while back but as it only garnered three responses I guess it's not something many people feel strongly about! I can also appreciate there's definitely a lot more to running a forum of this size and age than I'm aware of, I just hope that the next time there is a big forum reshuffle this section gets looked at. Rather than continuing this off-topic, this is the thread I started on the issue last year: Gaming forum - slightly odd organisation (suggestion/opinion)

The only mod I've got installed is the GPL Launcher thing, I have no idea how to use it or what it's for exactly, but I heard it improves the game and lets you use more modern resolutions so I went for it. Took a while to get it working (I had to add a lot of .exes to the DEP list) and as I never played it without the launcher I couldn't really tell what it changed exactly, but all I know is it works, I can use my triple monitor setup, it looks stunning and is great fun to drive.

or I will have to kill you.

He'll do it and all, I've seen it.

I've not played GPL for years, but I recall it took a lot of work to get it functioning with full screen and proper sound, and my PC is fairly old (still XP.)

I played some GTR2 at the weekend, and I toyed with trying GPL again. I might give a go again soon.

daan
or I will have to kill you.

Ah yes. Threaten me with death. The perfect way to make people follow rules...>.> Anyways, I just installed the resterizer to get the proper resolution as my screen was flickering and such. Now I'm looking to up the frame rate to 60fps cause 36fps aint cuttin' it.

I thought the demo was completely legit. I guess not.
