After much hard work and research by Clonehead, we've finally managed to figure out how to race this brilliant (if somewhat difficult) racing game on line.

You'll need to head over to http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/vroc to download the software - it's a bit complicated, but if you follow the steps to the letter you should be okay (heck, I managed to get it working, and I've got no idea what I'm doing).

Once working, the software will log you in to a server with a chat feature and a list of available races.

So, I propose that those of us interested in racing on-line should, when logged in there, set up a race called GTPlanet, with the password 'planet' (I worked hard on that name and password). Races should be set to 'novice' as I know I'm certainly not capable of 7 laps in a row without hitting something.

Thoughts? Comments?

Damn!!

Just when you think your pc is working perfectly, it always has a way of telling you "I'm really the boss here"

Check out this little addon, I won't play GPL without it.
It is called GPL glance, and when you trun your wheel, the view turns too.

Man - it's driving me nuts - we need to get the laptop and the desktop networked through the ADSL modem. The big PC can't find the modem - it can see me download packets, but it can make the connection.

I'll speak to my partner's brother tomorrow - he'll know what to do.

Have you tried getting some info from the net ? there might be answers to your problem at google..

You use xp, right?

Nah - win98 on the lappy, 2000prof on the desk.

I've had a bit of a go at it, but being an accountant I rapidly hit my IT knowledge boundary.
