Lately my PS5's been turning itself off mid-game without any overheating warning, about 30 minutes to an hour of playing, and to turn it back on, I have to plug the console back in.

This has happened to me while playing GT7, Astro Bot and Stellar Blade. I even tried opening it up and cleaning it with a vacuum, and it still does this. But this doesn't seem to be the case when I'm like watching Youtube.

Any help?

What's the space behind it like?

Could it be that you set an auto turn off timer on your "smart" TV and after that long without any input to the TV, it just shuts down, along with the PS5... ?

Old post, but the most likely answer is that the Liquid Metal between the heatsink and cpu has started leaking out, causing sudden overheating and the PS5 to shut down immediately and without warning.

It will begin shutting down under less and less load, because as it leaks out temperature spikes will happen faster and faster.
