Yeah, I would like to do this again, with the Tokyo Route 246 300 kms. and the Laguna Seca 200 miles races. Whether or not I'm able to do more depends on the support of racers like you guys. I hope you enjoyed this one and will think about participating in future events.

I will agree the cars were quite uneven. I'm a little ticked at PD for putting only three good JGTC cars in there with a bunch from 2000-01. I'm hoping that for GT Vision, GT5, GT-whatever's next, that PD will put in 2004-05-06 cars, like the Calsonic Z, G'Zox Z, upgraded Sard and Tom's Supras and upgraded Arta, Raybrig and Takata NSX's. I know the NSX's aren't that bad in real life. I just wish they would put in a bunch of good, competitive JGTC/Super GT cars.

The only thing I can think of for car selection next time is to request that the faster guys choose slower cars to even out the field. Or perhaps inverting the car selection: those who completed the race last choose first, sort of like the drafts in professional sports. Or perhaps we can just exclude the 2003-04 cars like the WoodOne Supra, the Takata NSX and the Xanavi Skyline and the Motul Z.

eatsvipers4lunch: I look forward to seeing what you have to offer. Best of luck to you on your project.

Again, thank you very much to all who took part.

are you gonna do the whole race write up? i want to know what others strategy was. Maybe i should post a copy of my pm in here for others to see :)

Working on the full race review now. If anyone wants to go ahead and post their pit strategies and other things related to the race, go ahead.

- Total race time: 1”46’26.596
- Race times after laps 15: 26’21.783
- Race times after laps 30: 53’04.296
- Race times after laps 45: 1”19’43.853
- Fastest lap: (with R2's) 1’41.653 (with R3's) 1'40.xxx (last lap missed it :indiff
- Car’s horsepower 521hp before race, 496hp after race
- Number of pit stops and the laps pitted: 7 Pit stops.
Pit stop end of lap 8,16,24,32,40,48 all Runs where on R2’s (hard) final pit end of lap 56 switched to R3’s (Mediums) for the run home.

- Stuff ups!:
Lap 22 hit wall just before 1st tunnel.
Lap 34 slight touch at wall just before 2nd hairpin, all 4 tyres where on the grass.
Lap 50 4 tyres off, no wall hit just after T1 (got out of shape)
Lap 53 ran wide at the last corner of the last s bend and nicked the wall

RACE RECAP

Ran a very clean race - no off's or wall contact.
Ran a very consistant mid to low 1:47's (its about as fast as that car would run)
pits 10, 20 ,30, 41, 52* *-oops :dunce: was going to pit at 51 cost me about 8 seconds due to the tires being worn out. race hards front and rear.
Have the video if anyone's interested.

MULSANNE - have an idea - lets try the other lower horse power one's (under 300hp)(cost $500,000 each) there is like 8 cars total i think (JPGT) i think they all have 295hp each or very close to that.
Could post up the next race if ya want, give us something to work on this next month.

EDIT: there are 5 of them i could find (mazda don't have one unless its a prize car or version spacific)

Here's my info:

Nissan Xanavi GT-R, 517 Hp @ start, 494 Hp @ finish.
Racing-Hard (R2) tires front and rear.
5 Pit Stops, every 10 laps.
Fast lap occured on #16, 1'40.485. Pretty much every tire stint had at least one lap in the 1'40's.
Was a pretty un-eventful race, no major off's or contact. Just an occassional bottleneck entering a turn or tunnel.

Some times I wrote down:
End of lap 10- pitted for tires, no fuel. 17'34.170
End of lap 15- 26'11.692
End of lap 20- Pitted for tires and fuel (filled to half tank). 35'06.904
End of lap 30- Pitted for tires and fuel (half tank). 52'39.006
End of lap 40- Pitted for tires and fuel (half tank). 1:10'07.157
End of lap 45- 1:18'43.954
End of lap 50- Pitted for tires and fuel (half tank). 1:27'35.002
End of Race- 1:44'42.463

10 lap split times:
0-10: 17'34.170
10-20: 17'32.734
20-30: 17'32.102
30-40: 17'28.151
40-50: 17'27.845
50-60: 17'07.461 (no pit in to slow me down)
I was happy with the consistancy, and also the fact the HP drop didn't hurt too bad :)

My settings were:
SR 8.0/12.5
RH 70/90
SB 7/6
SR 6/7
CA 3.0/1.5
TA 0/0
ST 2/2

BB 4/6
AIDS 0/0/1

AS 1
Final 3.200
2.700/1.960/1.500/1.210/1.020/0.890

DF 50/50
LSD 10/20/10

Slowpoke: Thanks for posting your settings! Real class act. Wish I had asked before the race. :)

Driven: O.G. also proposed that we have a race for the GT300 cars. If there is sufficient interest, I would certainly do a GT300 race.

That's actually my next challenge, taking a GT300 car (probably the RE Amemiya RX-7) and doing the GV300, just to see if it's a more compelling challenge.

And patience, patience please on the race write-up. I think it's quite detailed (already two pages on Word) and I'm working to get it finished.

My ill-advised strategy.

Total 1:48'18.611

L15-27'11.217

L30-54'17.591

L45-1:21'28.026

FL-1.44.053 lap 23

Tires R1/R1

Hp 528

Pits 15/30/45

Slowpoke, i could barely get 8 laps from my R2's and not only that but your lap times are way faster than mine, great job mate 👍.

@iforceV8, it seems our supra hates tires :(

Hiya Guys...Sorry for the delay but I was kinda waitin' for Mulsanne to get the Write-up thread launched.

CONGRATS to ALL the Finishers! I quit hosting these things when I had Seventeen drivers sign up but only Four submited a time! :irked: Good to see that was NOT the case here! 👍

I was hoping for a mid-pack finish knowing that "Pokie" really shines in these races. Second is more than I expected but I'm most proud of NOT going a Lap Down to the Winner!

I started with a NISSAN/Motul I'd used somewhere else w/full turbo. Removed it & took a few practice laps at one of my Very Favorite courses. (YES, even WITH the changes I still like it!) I'm presently running the Formula GT with a "Vintage" Grpoup C ride w/5 speed tranny. As it turned out running the NISSAN as a 5-speed here made for near perfect gearing at crucial spots so I gave it a go. Something else I didn't discover until late in the weekend was the "Odd" Chassis set-up. I must have run the NISSAN at the Test "Curse" as the camber was 0/0. I dialed in a more "Normal" setting & although I turned faster laps the tyre wear was NOT Good! :irked:
Finally relented & used the "Tranny Trick" but in my first full race (NOT the ill fated 58 Lap effort) it was only good for 8 SECONDS! Got up Sunday AM & gave it a final shot "Finding" nearly a Minute over the 5-speed effort. Looking at the times it appears Small_Fryz led me through all the "Checkpoints" but I slipped by at the end because of his extra Pit Stop! (THANX FRYZ!)

Front Tyres: R2 / Rear Tyres R3
Pits: 10/20/30/40/50

Times:
@ Lap #15 - 26'31.700
@ Lap #30 - 53'18.400
@ Lap #45 - 1:19'48.450
@ Lap #60 - 1:46'15.163

Fast Lap: 1'42.594 (Lap #34)

HP: 509/487

NO "Incidents" (I drive a VERY Conservitive Line) of any kind & 99.9% "AI" Contact FREE! :sly:

Lookin' forward to the next round...O.G. :D

Nice Run OG, i must of done something wrong as my supra hated its tyres :(.

I saw you go past while i was in the pits but couldnt do anything about it. Gonna have to get up that race director of mine as he had a $hit strategy

I would glady do another race like this one again 👍

lol what is going on in here! I could barely get 11-12 laps out of my R1 tires and you guys pulled out 15 with R2 and R3. No clue how you can lap faster but still use less tire life like you did. That's just sick. :scared:

Anyway I'm in anytime this runs again. 👍

All right, the race write-up is finally posted in the GT4 Write-Up forum. (4 pages in Microsoft Word!) Hope you like it.

Glad to read that you guys would do this again. Let me know what changes could be made to make it more a enjoyable experience for everyone.
