Graphics card, and more graphics cards.

I've been looking for a decent graphics card like the radeon 6870...

Apparently the card is very noisy, so I learned that the graphics card can come with one fan, two fans, or three.

So here is my problem: There are way too many choices! If I choose one graphics card there are 4 different versions of it! Is there a card that's better than the 6870 (like Nvidia) but comes around $170-$200 (even $250+).

I want a card that won't max out BF3 but can manage to still play it on it's higher setting. What do you guys recommend?

:indiff:

I know two players with lower cards that seem to play it fine at 1600x1200 and 1920x1080 resolutions. One is using the GTX550ti and the other is using a GTX570. The 570 is probably out of your price range, but the 550 might be closer and worth looking at.

Next thing is that you would be complaining about too little on the market and the prices being too high. But now to get onto about a graphics card. I have this one which is an HD 6950 overcocked and has an non-reference cooling design. I've read that this card runs Battlefield 3 at 40-60fps on Ultra graphics. I know from my use on the card doing 100% load with furmark that the fan only runs at 54% of the fan speed and it's hardly noticeable. But of course if you would rather cut cost and lose a little performance you could get an HD 6870 or a GeForce GTX 560 Ti. Your budget has plenty of room for some powerful graphics cards.

I would rather get a GeForce atm. ATI is releasing new series of there card atm HD7xxx so the 6xxx series are a bit outdated. Sure it's always gonna switch but I would take a GeForce atm if I were you. GTX560 or 570 is waht you should aim at.
