have u guys noticed how far they came from GT2 to GT3? and now GT4 once that comes out how amazing will they be on that?

well your right but from what i can see gt4 is gonna be improved espically on the scenery parts lookin at that rally @ some kind of grand canyon look soooo sweet:D

Yea the replay of the Scooby, EVO and 206 at Grand Canyon on the video looked like a real rally event to me. If thats what we are getting in GT4 it will be nothing short of incredible.

Being that Gt4 is still on Ps2 i dont think that there will be the huge graphics jump that there was from gt2 to gt3 but the graphic still will be incredible.

yea it can only get better and better, the pics in the magazine i got look amazing!

delucani is right. A lot of the improvement between GT2 and GT3 is due to the change in platform, and the increase in capabilities of the hardware.

That said, GT3 followed hot on the heels of the PS2, so it's highly likely that programming expertise will have increased significantly. I'm looking to see a lot of the bugs removed from GT3.

Oh, and it's off to the Rumours and Speculation forum with this one methinks...

even the views of everything improved and shadowing especially how it moves and can follow your car in the light

I hope GT4 still has exaggerated reflections, though. I really like how shiny the cars look :)

From what I've read/seen so far, cars themselves are limited to the samme number of polygons so that they will not undergo a great transformation but the background is where the programmers seem to have spent more of their time so that it will be more vivid, especially the lighting effects. The stuff you've where rally looks like it is from a canyon is true. I believe the cameramen were at the Grand Canyon as well as Time Square in New York so we can be sure that there will be at least two new circuits if nothing else.

The landscaping is suppost to be incredible says ps2's Underground Magazine...

actually in terms of benchmarks, the graphics are going to be almost identical, seeing as how Gt3 pushed PS2 to it's graphical extreme. I'm sure it'll be slightly better and all, but graphic wise is going to be almost the same, the only difference is going to be how much time they put into those graphics i.e. Landscaping will contrain more parts as apposed to repeating 2-3 diff images for dirt, they may have 5-6 which is a huge difference to the naked eye. In terms of the "grand Canyon" I don't see what's so amazing about that. The background is practically a still picture, the playing feild is rivaled by alot of other rally games. But, we shall see when it comes out.

i feel the same way about the canyon track
i dont think it looks so great, just a track in mid air with a still picture behind it

I don't really think it pushed it to the extreme, but for the time it did push it. GT3 suffered from jaggies, which makes edges look like they're flickering at times. This was mainly because PS2 dosen't have built in support for anti-aliasing which defeats the jaggies. Now that PD will have anti-aliasing, the graphics will look a lot better.

those pics of the ralley track are so nice. cant wait to play GT4

Gt3 used 25% of the ps2's real power, see gt3 wasn't a technically game, it's all artistic and that will be the same with gt4.

What? Think before you post, you make no sense, and seem to know nothing about anything, if that's possible

It's true, gt3 is technically weak compared to other racers but PD relied on their artistic skills to make gt3 the most realistic looking racer made. You understand?

youve got to realise the PS2 is not the wonder system of the world, just look at the specs, there not that good (anymore)

and your only kidding yourself about that 25% thing (and yes i have read that ultra PS2 biased article)

and no i dont think xbox is special ethier

/hits cobragt over the head with a large fish ;)

Yeah that is true. The thing is, that most of the time it's running at 25% but some times it goes to 100%, you need that buffer zone or else you get slow downs like in the wet tracks when you play 2 players. That's also why you can't play 2 players on Cote.

Yeah it only uses 25% the power on menu screens & when loading/saving memory cards :p
