Great attention to detail,

I brought the 2002 Caterham Seven Fire Blade the other day which if your not sure is a car where you can see the driver driving the car, well during a replay I was a amazed to see him actually looking around at various things while driving, and his arms actually move realistically with the motion of the car. He also looks at his instruments when driving slowly and moves the gear to on occasion, I was blown away at the attention to detail.

Anybody notice when driving the Nike One 2022 you can see the drivers foot pressing the pedal down and when accelerating really fast he puts his head down too.

Amazing stuff!

i also noticed this while drivin my caterham severn frieblade it is amazing well nothing to complain about there then, i havent tried it with the nike one 2022 but i think i will lol the game is just amazing and i don't think there is much they could do to make it any better (within the capeability of the PS2) who knows what GT5 will be like!!!!!!

I noticed while doing the BMW Z4 slalom test. I tried launching in second gear, so I shifted during the countdown. Sure enough, my driver reached down and eased the stick back.

It's a shame there's no Caterham you'll be able to use in races against 5. However, it is a very nice touch for this very popular car company. I really wish I could have a one-make series featuring Caterhams. It's not a great touch. It's a BEAUTIFUL touch.

That Nike One is hard for me to figure out how to use. You can hear the driver's heartbeat with the in-car views. But when I seen replays with the cheap plug of Nike shoes, the driver sits in a strange position. It looks like the driver is in a crawling state trying to pilot the car. It looks like when you brake, the driver tilts the joystick forward. As you turn, the joystick is tilted to whatever direction.

Since this is a 2022 model, I'd sure like to see if this Nike One Concept Car will be the future of racing, if the Toyota MTRC doesn't show it already. I bet you'd have to be at a certain height and have a certain body build to pilot those things. If I had one of those, skinny little me would want one customized in royal blue, then a much brighter blue windshield, then I'd want a black suit. By far, it's one of the most unique machines in GT4, and is actually fun to drive with all 8 gears of it.

yeah it is great that PD have gone to that much trouble for driver movements and stuff, but with that Nike Car, how come you can here the drivers heartbeat so easily? i cant here it in any other car

The driver's heartbeat should be loudest of all during driving mission34!

The detail that I noticed; the rear spoiler on the Crossfire raises and lowers its self automatically.
Raises up when hitting higher speeds and then tucks back away when gettin on the brakes.

Speaking of details. If you get the Bathhurst RX7, in real life you can adjust the car height in the stock suspension. In GT4 if you go to the suspension adjustment sure enough, you can adjust the height without buying a suspension upgrade. I thought that was neat. 👍

Yeah the drivers in the open cars look great, my favorites are the old school boys on the Model T and the Mercedes/Benz Motor Carraiges. When they change gear it looks great, ker-chunk. On the other hand, the open cars you can race with, like the Suzuki GSX-4 and particularly the Audi R8, the drivers look a bit funny - watch it come into the pits, his helmet looks fine but is body looks thinner than his head. He's got no shoulders! must make it easier to get into an LMP at least.

A few days ago I realised the drivers in open roofed cars tend to look towards the racing line, when you're off the track all togeather.

Aha! Maybe that's why the opponents always rams you off the line. They aren't even aware your there because they're watchin' the line!!! ;)

I think the reason for that is that they're just so stupid they're not aware that you're there at all, idiots :dopey:

The Cien does this as well, and probably a few others.
I'm a few months behind everyone else, I'm still being impressed by the backfiring. :p

I liked the detail on the driver. But he looks a little stiff to me. He does move a little due to g forces, but even with a racing harness, you still get moved around more than that.

I think they should have loosened him up a bit.

He still looks great though. :)

Also, on the SLR Mclaren, when you brake heavily from high speeds, the airbrake pops up.

You can kinda see it here...I thought that was a nice detail :dopey:

Similar happens with the Merc AMG- Mclaren - the rear spoiler comes up when you brake, and drops down when you hit the gas

mitsubishi concept, HSR has those crazy flaps that go up and down

plus the 2003 WRC subaru...look on the side view mirrors and u can see the little animal thing on them, just liek the real car :D

Oh yeah! They're fantastic!!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh detail detail, im sorry everyone, (this might atart a few arguments) but nothing beats half life 2 and ESPECIALLY metal gear sold 2 and 3.

although this is a diffrent genre altogether. so i was inpressed.

The rear spoiler is powered by an electric motor located directly below the spoiler wing in the spoiler assembly. When the vehicle reaches 62 MPH (102 km/h), the rear spoiler deploys, giving the vehicle 40 Lbs. (356 Newtons) of downforce at 80 MPH (129 km/h). As the vehicle decelerates, the rear spoiler starts to retract at a speed of 39 MPH (62 km/h). When retracted, the spoiler nestles between the rear quarter panels and the rear liftgate window.

The spoiler can be manually deployed at lower speed using the override switch mounted in the center console. Pushing the switch up raises the rear spoiler. Pushing the switch down lowers the rear spoiler.

I'm a service tech. for a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer so I have access to a bunch of engineering information on Chrysler products which is where that stuff came from.
At any rate, GT4 is reproducing what the car actually does.

Of course, the question is... why? I can't see a point in deployable wings beyond the gimmick. The mechanism has to add (unnecessary) weight. There's no gain in acceleration by retracting the wing since speeds too low to get significant downforce out of it are naturally also too low for it to provide any significant drag either.

Now I _can_ see the point of wings that dynamically change angle with steering/braking. As in, they go flat for least wind resistance on the straights and then angle for maximum down force in the turns. Or heck, you could even do a rudder. These kinds of systems were banned in all forms of racing before they even got started as far as I know. It was clear that if they were allowed, you wouldn't be racing cars anymore... but rather very low flying airplanes.

Shoot, if I was racing the Nissan R92CP around Le Mans (either configuration), my heartbeat would be so fast, I'd damn near die each lap! But it's these little details that make the game better than it already is. I've been looking forward to GT4 ever since I've joined GTPlanet. GTPlanet had the best stuff I've seen for GT4 before I joined the 'Planet. And now that I've been on here for a little less than a year and a half, I'm really honored to check out all this information and sense all these little touches. Everything from planes flying overhead at Le Mans to watching your driver's arms and head rock while in the turns. I think Polyphony Digital did an impressive job overall. I could live without many of the features not in GT4 that my counterparts wanted. I think we already know what elements other people wanted, so I'm not going to go into specifics.

One of the more unique touches was that during night races, you can actually see the blue underlighting for the Blitz ER41 D1GP car. Whether you think it's a "fanboy" car or not, it's still fun for drifting. Every chance I get, I try to run drift cars around the Special Condition tarmac races (except Tsukuba Wet). So for many of the cars, there are certain interesting touches. Same can also be said for some of the tracks, so it's been an overall good job, I think.

GT4, made in japan.

that should sum up everything.

wow! where was everyone when the game came out? all this is really old info.

U should see the driver in bspec - foto mode in a f1 car
O M G!!!
i got a GREAT shot ... in the tsukba track.. i luv tht track .. anyway
i got a GREAT shot.. i dont know how to import it tho... thinkin about usb.. anyway

the shot.. you can clearly see heat waves and some tire smoke and you can see the blur of the crowd behind... and its just ... AAMMAAAAZING!
speechless lol

Has any1 treid driving a full modified (but not finely tuned) Caterham around The 'ring? it takes of in so many different locations its scary.

the going up and down of the spoiler in the Chrysler and the Skyline GT-R prototype also happened in GT Concept. I was amazed by it even then. Anyway, I have a complaint: True enough, when your driver changes gears in a convertible, you can see him changing gears... that is awesome. However, once you tune the car (i.e.: get a full racing transmission), the driver doesn't reach down anymore to change gears... has the gear shift been transferred to the wheel via paddle shifts? Well, the gears do go faster, so it would be an option... but it doesn't say so anywhere.

Still, I love the detail. Have you noticed on the Toyota Triathlon car how each drivers steers each wheel via a joystick?
