Well, give your opinions based on :

Performance given engine specs
Looks
Quality of engineering
Estimated driveability
Emotions they stir.

Personally, I vote fo the Carrera GT. All the reviews I have read on it describe it as on of the greatest supercars ever. The looks are softer on the eye and IMO more beautiful then the Enzo. Porsche have designed new clutch technology which gets rid of the heavy clutch problem apparent in past lambo's, and the Zonda just cant match the refinement of the Porsche.

EDIT: This was supposed to be a poll, but I unticked the incorrect button. Nevertheless, give you opinions.

I would also vote for the Carrera GT.

The new clutch you speak of was built so that the engine could lay as low as possible in a beautifully enginnered car. All though it seems a bit long in pictures, i think that its looks magnificent (one of the most beautiful cars of recent years IMO). I have read that the clutch is quite tricky, but i can forgive the car of that for the beauty of its engineering. I doubt that any other car on the list was better planned than this one. Something about porsche leaves me without doubt that every aspect of this car was done in a manner of accuracy and explained by mathematics that no other manufacturer even approached. I would venture on a limb and say that this car might be even better than the 959 was in its time. For heaven's sake it has an engine straight out of the porsche F1 team's garage  and without much modification they made it street legal :D...

SLR cause it suffers little damage when a golf crashed into it!!!!!!
No, just joking.

IMO, I guess the Enzo and Carrera GT will be the best choice financially because they can retain their value or even increase in price(until gasoline is no more on earth).

For me......Pagani. 2 to be exact. 1 roadster and 1 normal version.

I read something similar which said just about EVERY person who has jumped in the car has stalled it at some point. Either you go screaming away blowing your tires off, or you stall. It is supposed to be hard to get the kind off smooth launch that you would want if say if you were caught in a traffic jam.

I forget where I read that though. :banghead:

The Enzo is an ugly *****, and it's a Ferrari, so it's the first to go out of contention. Next up would be the SLR, because it's fat and ugly, has an automatic transmission, etc... The Gallardo goes there next, simply because it's outpaced by everything. I'd rather see the Murcielago. The Zonda and the Carrera GT are fairly equal, but i'd give the upper hand to the GT, simply because it seems more involving.

When reading a Top Gear article i believe clarkson mentioned that the jurnalist before him blew the tran by shifting from 5th to 2nd. And Clarkson himself may have mentioned that he stalled the car and that he never stalls cars. Maybe that is where you and i read about it Rumple.

I have a funny story about traffic jams and manual cars... well i guess its not really funny, but its not for this thread anyways.

I agree that Mike Rotch made a mistake in selecting the Gallardo for comparison, and not the Murcielago.

Speaking personally, I would (given the choice) take the Murcielago. It's the only one that really engenders aches of desire in me. Admittedly, it's not the fastest, and it's quite heavy. But I think that the 4WD system would save you from your worst excesses, and Audi have done wonders for the build quality and after-sales service. They do still break down though.

The Enzo is ugly. I don't buy the futurism thing, I just think that Ferrari set out to style something in the wind tunnel and hang the overall shape. To me the rear is too low and too wide, it's out of proportion, and I think visually needs the hoop-shaped rear wing of the F50. By all accounts the engine and gearbox make it very fast and very easy to drive, but it broke down in New York on a CAR magazine feature, and Ferrari took 4hrs to come to the owner's rescue. And the floor fell off. So build quality is typical of Fiat.

The Porsche is probably the best-built. It's a great looking machine, and by all accounts great to drive. It would be my second choice in the list.

I've never understood the fascination with the Zonda. To my eyes it's ugly. It's not even classically ugly (Countach) or wilfully ugly (Impreza), it's just ugly. It's ungainly and contrived. It's got a great engine, but that's really it.

Oh, and the Murcielago is half the price of the other cars in the list.

I did mean to add the Murcielago, but :

a) it didnt fit in the title
b) i mistaken omitted a poll
c) everybody knows I am the worst poller in GTP
d) it was before breakfast

Yeah. It's kinda like an oversized overpriced SL, but without the trick roof.

The best of all is of course Enzo.

Sorry, but I would have taken the Murky Lager.

The Enzo looks as if somebody tried to melt it. :yuck:

I'm gonna be an old grumpy man and say that I'd have none of those, if I had the money to spend :irked: . For some reason I just don't like any of them
The Ferrari Enzo: If you were to ask a 9 year old to draw their dream car, they'd probably come up with something better than that  .
Lambo: Basically a flashed up Audi and to me it just looks...........not that special, just another super car.
SLR: meh....
Porsche: IMO a road version of a GT car, and again just doesn't stir it for me.
Zonda: IMO doesn't look quite right....:odd: . I dunno again like all teh others just doesn't give me the x factor a proper jaw dropping, wet dream producing super car.
Personally if I had the cash I'd go for something a little bit more unique that really gets me going. Maybe the new MG that can be tuned to up to 800bhp:eek: . Now for me that's a car! Or I'd also rather save the cash and maybe get a road going version of the T440R by TVR. ooo or a Dauer 962 :D , but I think they're all owned by the prince of blahekhustink, what ever.

Murcielago for no other reason than it's the best of the least.

Ferrari continues their downward spiral after the F40.
Porsche ... doesn't inspire me.
Zonda is just weird.
SLR? Who?

What about sub-super car? Ford GT!

Ooh, I think it's something like £330k.

wee_man: Have you seen a Murcielago in real life? I've seen both that and the new MG, and I would say that the MG is cool-looking, but the Murcielago is simply stunning. I've never wanted anything material like I want that car.

Obviously though it's all personal taste, and I fully respect your opinion.

Of the £300k cars, I would add the Koeningsegg, which I saw at the British GP. That's an amazing-looking thing too, I suspect that its production volume is probably too low to count in Mike Rotch's poll.

Yea, I've seen the MG at the touring cars this year :) , and as you said Giles it was a cool looking car. I haven't seen the Murcielago in real life, but from what you said, I'd imagine it's one of those cars where you really have to see it in real life to get it's full glory. :)

Yea, otherwise low volume tuners like Gemballa and Brabus would get thrown into the mix, and too many others come into the picture.

I prefer my amateur poll just the way it is. :D

Saleen S7 would figure in there for me. I would take it before the SLR, and the Enzo.

Worst Poller equals Grape

EDIT: Blasted character map!

Carrera GT.

Or possibly the Saleen S7.

I don't think he's the worst poller ever. Looks good to me ;)

'Xactly, its the thought that counts :)

EDIT: Aah thanks dude!

The Enzo all the way.

Simply stunning and I bet it drives amazingly.

Awesome car.

Zonda =not bad
Porker =mmm to bland
Lambo= cool but a bit to err Audi ish
SLR= McLaren ethics sellout job (but bloody cool looking)

zonda ain't bad, but i've touched a few lambos and holy mother [Language edited by moderator], it's gotta be a lambo for me...or a TVR if I could only get a sub-supercar. Though the Mercielago is a beautiful car, I personally prefer the more gritty looks of the Countach & the Diablo. Thinking about them also brings back childhood memories since those 2 were my favourite cars growing up.

enzo all the way!! when I first saw it i thought the looks where a little off, but thats what everyone said, but then anyone who has seen it in real life thinks its absolutly stunning, after watching videos of it over and over, I think it looks beautiful!!!....and people think the enzo looks wierd...what about the zonda???? have you seen that thing from the back...those pipes just arnt doing it for me......
