Targa Florio is the short Piccolo Circuit

Corrected now.

TBH, probably my local area. So many memories.

One of my pet peeves is when people call the Madonie circuit "Targa Florio". The Targa Florio isn't a racing circuit, it's an event held on a racing circuit. It's like saying you want the "24 heures du Mans" in the game instead of Circuit de la Sarthe.

Anyway, Grand Prix, you have an image of the 67 mile Media Circuito delle Madonie in your post, not the more common (and more recently used) 45 mile Piccolo Circuito delle Madonie. Either your mileage is wrong or your image is wrong.

Fixed.

So what are you saying? You only want the track in GT5 and not the entire race? Are you mad?

Come visit us in Colorado and you'll see twists, turns, switchbacks, elevation changes, need I say more.

If you're ever in socal, try highway 18. Runs from the 215 freeway, all the way up to Big Bear. Once you pass the 3000 ft level, it is tight and windy. Great fun when there is no traffic. We did it many times using both lanes. Many blind turns, and 2000-3000 ft drop on the right most of the way. Winter driving is more of a chore than a sport.

myth confirmed.

There are 3 mountain to desert roads, the S22 and Hwy 78 in San Diego, and the Palms to Pines in Riverside that are very scenic and will reward you with a horrific end to your life if you lose your concentration.

US Highway 129 (411) also known as "The Tail of the Dragon" in southeastern Tennessee stretching into southwestern North Carolina. 11 miles of road with over 318 curves. It's a motorsport enthusiast's dream.

+1 for the road to Bear.

Welcome to SoCal :)

I have to give it to you, that looked like fun! :-D

Oh man I would love something like that! I've driven Tail of the Dragon (Deal's Gap) numerous times at speed. Taken it in my Evo X and S2000. Best fun road on the East Coast USA. Would be a blast to drive virtually without the fear of speeding tickets and uh, death!

The road is ****.
I bought into the hype and pulled my Ducati up there from Florida last year with some friends. Sure, 3xx corners in 11 miles is excellent in thought, but when you actually ride, er, try to ride the bloody thing at speed it's crap.

It's a ridiculous blend of squids trying to go fast, harleys trying to cruise, car traffic which constantly crosses the double line, and did I mention it's a state road. That means there's 18 wheelers, really?
Let's not even discuss the road surface while having your knee down mid apex. Slippery mixture of stone and tar with the occasional bit being smooth.

You want good roads in the states, head west.

The road to Hana on Maui, on state highway 360. Very fun tight road. Too bad my mom & wife were worried we were gonna get hit, and I was driving a rental chevy malibu.

It's a time lapse video so rather jerky to watch.

Ha. Awesome. That road is hairball. Was driving back in the Mazda3 rental after a day of hiking to waterfalls and these local kids in an Datsun 720 pickup (or something like that...they are everywhere)...came up behind me blazing...I pulled over when I could to let them by. The thing had mismatch body panels...the camber was jacked on one of the wheels...some guy is chilling in the back. I was like WTF! He was straight blazing...crazy. If you miss a turn at the wrong spot, you WILL die. Locals.
