Online services have been down on this game for about 10 days including the weekly events and it is not possible to login to EA Play when starting the game (this doesn't happen on other active games).

I know you are not involved with this game anymore, but could you pass this info on to whoever is responsible for maintenance on Grid Legends @PJTierney please? Thanks.

It might just be the server(s) need rebooting or something to restart the service.

There has been no announcement about the game going offline that i am aware of.

I've been able to play fine the last few days. Then again, I never did multiplayer.

I haven’t heard of any announcement so it’s probably an error or expired certificate.

Based on the thread below, it looks to be specific to Xbox only (which might explain why you are able to login @GTvsForza
Someone has asked Xbox help and they say it is a EA specific issue @PJTierney
Hopefully it gets resolved.

The irony is I reinstalled Grid Legends because Project Cars 3 online ended last month, and found I couldn't get online on that either

Just as an update on this, it is still impossible to get online on Grid Legends on Xbox.

This has now been going on for at least 3 weeks :(
Just to advise further, this seems to be an Xbox only issue and ONLY on Grid Legends (other EA games can login without issue).

There is a forum thread ongoing on the official EA forum (link below) - the latest post from the Community Manager EA_Groguet from 4 days ago, reads as follows:

"Hey there!
We understand this is a frustrating situation. Our team is still working on the root of the issue. As soon as we have more information we will update you here.
-Groguet"

EA are clearly aware of the issue and trying to resolve it.

(as an aside, I guess @PJTierney might know Groguet?)

I don’t work on the games anymore but Groguet is the go-to guy, yes :) He’s the forum community manager for all racing games.

I played a little bit the other day. I had played in awhile. It was fun and I plan on trying to finish career mode. I started on the Ravenwest DLC and I was making headway until I got to the drifting portion. I find drifting in this game difficult for me at least.

The Story Mode drift events were a bit challenging, but I find the Career ones more tolerable. I'm currently almost halfway through the Pro group with the race length at 3x (because I want to).

The issue making it impossible to connect online on Xbox is now 2 MONTHS and 3 days old.

The last post from Groguet was over a month ago! Someone should post an update on the forum thread. Users are (rightly) getting frustrated/annoyed about this.

Fix the xbox issue or just shut down online on it and other platforms?

EA gonna EA.

Probably hard to fix an issue with there’s no development team working on the game anymore (and hasn’t been since 2023) :(
Online hasn't worked on Xbox since February.
But the game has remained on sale throughout that entire time AND IS STILL ADVERTISED TODAY ON XBOX as having all these multiplayer features that haven't existed since February and will now never exist...

"Hop into live multiplayer games" - impossible since February 2026.
"Defeat your friends again and again" - impossible since February 2026.
"Play together with up to 21 friends" - nope
"Use the race creator to ... tear up with your friends" - nada....

A pity that this game has to end with such a sour taste in the mouth as it is actually a lot of fun and well worth playing (offline as you can't do anything else).

It doesn't matter whether there is a team or not, if you are selling a product that does not work as advertised you are breaking the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, misselling the product and EA or Xbox have a legal duty to fix it!

This happens all the time and is illegal in the UK every single time it happens. Just because no-one does anything about it, doesn't make it legal to do it?
