Grip to drift convert [I'm a newb once again...]

Afternoon. As you've probably guessed I'm a convert to drifting now. So I am once more a noob. Arse. Used to love all the circuit racing [I think you American's call it grip racing], but having seen a round of the UKD1 series [I'm a Brit] and having a chance to have a ride in the Option UK Magazine NSX I am in awe. The fact I can't get insured for a decent rear wheel drive car yet [I have another 3 years to wait] I thought I'd get some done on GT3. So, after a long winded intro... Hi

There is no need to convert. Converting means that you would leave what you were doing behind infavor of something new or better. Drifting is something you can add to your current list of skills.

hey man, drifting can only make you a better gripper. Because through drifting you will gain a better understanding of weight shifting. The goals and techniques required to be successfull in in one only strengthens the other. Knowing at what point the tires will break traction on the car during a line at certian speeds... breaking...raceline... blah blah.. its all self explanitory.
