He signed for two years with the Blue Oval team. I think its great!
Now it's Loeb, Duval and Markko to get a seat for next year... looks like Loeb will drive for a privateer Citroen team.
Now, who will be Ford's nº1? Toni (i think he'll stay) or Marcus??

Read more on: www.wrc.com , www.rally-live.com

I hope Toni stays, he's a good driver (and a nice guy, I've met him once) and they'd make an excellent duo, not least because they are Finnish :p

I can't see Loeb going with a private team unless they've got funding on par with at least the works teams, if not more. The Xsara is by far the best car at the moment, but will it be without the factory backing?

Who do you think should be number 1?

Marcus Gronholm: 2 time world champ with 18 WRC victories

Toni Gardemeister: no WRC victories, steady points finisher.

I have heard rumours that Ford are unimpressed with Toni. But he would be a reasonable number 2; he usually finishes in the points.

Right... i just asked cuz now Toni is the number 1... then Gronholm comes and he becomes second... should be kinda strange for drivers, thats how I feel... but you are right. Gronholm it is.
Well, the OMV team it's backed by the Citroen. No idea how, but it showed potential a few rallies ago finishing second. If Loeb really jumps in a privateer car, should be interesting to see whats the performance of one of those machines with a top class driver.
Damn rally is cool even off the "tracks" hehehe

just an off here: the Xsaras aren't really 4wd are they? The only "true" rally cars at moment are the Impreza and the Lancer right? I'm not sure...

Do you mean: does Citroen produce a 4WD turbo ROAD car? The answer is no.

But the relationship between the Subaru and Mitsubishi WRC and their road going versions is very small. Apart from the fact they both have 2 litre turbo engines and 4WD.

there were rumorers in auto sport that citroen had already signed gronholm for their super team.

Anyway Marko should go back to Ford, he rocked their!

But then it might bring back memories of Beef :(

Beef R.I.P

They were rumors, yes, but then someone told them that they couldn't drive their own cars so that was it. Damn those stupid rules! :banghead:
