Has anyone else realized the potential this car offers for exciting races. Last night I went on a shopping spree and loaded one of mine with everything but a turbo. Then I went and entered a racefrom the all japan gt championship. Raced with full blown race cars like skylines, nsx's, etc. It was a fairly close race so the excitement factor was there and I received 200 a-spec points for winning. The race was at Suzuka so through the tight stuff I was faster but on the straights the whole pack would catch back up. Overall this is a really fun car to drive and if you haven't checked it out yet go take a few laps around some tracks you won't be disappointed.

What the hell is a gsxr 4?

And more importantly, have you done a fast lap on the nurburgring, i mean like, under 6 and a half minutes, and then watched the replay on twice the speed?

The car circuits the track in under 40 seconds!!!!

Its eye bleeding stuff.

6 minutes... twice the speed... 40 seconds...

Hmmm...

Something doesn't quite add up?!?!

Suzuki GSXR-4

Anybody familiar with Suzuki Motorcycles should find the model name a bit familiar. It is familiar because the engine in the GSXR-4 is the 1300cc engine from Suzuki's Hayabusa motorcycle, that produces around 180HP. This is a very fun and capable car, and I've been told that there are racing series for them in Japan.

Actually I did the exact same thing last night. I used it with just a wing to win the Japan '90s cup and then tuned it up a little and ran the Laguna Seca round of the All Japan Championship. I was so impressed I made a psuedo-ad for it and put it in the photo-galleries ad thread.

It's my new favorite car in GT4, totally makes up for not being able to race the Caterham, as the two seem very similar in my eyes. Small, light, low, great handing.

Trust you to pick on me when im so excited about playing GT4 and finding new elements to the game that i make a blunder!

Ok so, let me explain: Have you tried a fast lap of the nurburgring, like 6 and a half minutes or something, and then watched the replay on fast forward? (15.875 times the speed)

The car laps the circuit in under 40 seconds!!

Thanx yeti.

Wasn't aware of that car.. Those hayabusa engines can reach 500hp with a turbo.

I'm asuming the Catterham 7 is also using a motorcycle engine, due to its high redline.

Yes its an exciting project, but HOW CAN I WIN IT with this suzuki concept s@@t?And i mean by racing in the concept suzuki race.Is there another way to get it?

And only and idiot or some one with no will to live would ride a 500HP street bike.

Anyone know off the top of their head where you get this one from? I did a quick search and just turned up this thread...You guys have got me intrigued, I wanna try it out too..

You are correct, the Caterham FireBlade 7 uses the Honda's FireBlade motorcycle engine.

It is a prize car for the mfg. Its the reward for the Suzuki concept races. It is well worth the effort.

Yeap the fireblade has a bike engine. Most other caterhams or other replicas use car engines. Often ford (x-flow,zetec,etc.) or land rover k-series engines.

You have to win the Suzuki K race first to win the Concept S to use in the Concept race. but the Concept S can not beat the GSX-R/4 in stock form so you'll have to juice it up and use racing tires(cheating i know :)). but after that you can use the GSX-R/4 to win more colors.

Really? I've seen quite a few that use miata engines and also toyota's.

Just a little side note here.

I read an article in the February '05 issue of Sport Compact Car, that there is a company by the name of Radical Sports Cars in Peterborough, UK and they are trying to put 2 Hayabusa engines into a car. But not two seperate engines, they are developing the Powertec RPA V8.
That's right, meshing two 'busa engines into one bad-ass V8.

As of the writing of the article, the Powertec V8 is making 383 HP @ 10,000 and 207 ft/lbs at 6800. All acheived with stock Hayabusa parts.

And finally, it's said that the engine can fit in a 2x2 foot box only 18 inches deep and weighs only 204 lbs.

Interesting.

When I first saw the GSX-R/4 in GT4, I was hoping that it would have this engine in her.

Belive it or not there is a guy on http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/ that had one with 685hp. They were going for 700. It wasn't meant to be "rideable" for say, more of an experiment, pushing the limits sort of thing. I belive it was in what would be cnsidered a "street bike" as in it still had lights and turn signals etc.

Crazy. As for the guy with the 500hp bike. You guys are more than likely refering to Ghost Rider, He is a lunatic for sure, fun to watch though.

I loveee this car.

Fully tuned, it is very fast. I can use it around costa amalfi(with nos, R4 tires) as fast as my CLK-gtr(no nos, R3 tires).
