Gt 2.12 update help!!!

When i put in GT 5 it requires this update...i click yes and nothing happens then the system reloads....if i click no the game starts to load then it quits after warning screen. HELP THIS IS TERRIBLE

Can someone help me? I borrowed GT5 from a friend to see if i wanna buy it. When i put it in it says update 2.12 is required i click ok and it just restarts my system nothing happens. If i click cancel/no for the update the game starts to load then after the Warning screen noothing else comes up. please help me i wanna play

The only thing updating does is give you dlc cars (which need to be purchased to use anyway) and will allow you to play online. Don't update it and play the game without updating 1st. Then after you decide to get the game, make sure you get the GT5 XL edition as it will come with $20 worth of dlc and will have updates up to 2.00 installed already, thus making your update time only around an hour or less. I have a feeling you will end up buying it

I would for the time being play it offline. Since your test driving not buying, think that'll bypass the updates but the game itself has to load on to your PS3s HDD on statup, if I remember correctly.

An hour? Mine took like 10 hours and that's with the XL edition.

Ouch! Mine normally takes me about an hour and i have 16 Mbps download with a wired connection.

I don't know what's happening. Have you tried to play offline? I think then it doesn't happen anything weird... Unless your PS3 is quite old.

Ummm try
1. copying your GT5 save data to a USB flash drive.
2. Then delete your save data off of your PS3.
3. Start GT5 and try the update again.
Let me know if it loads

You've asked this same question in two different threads and others have already tried to help you. Are you by chance trying to load your friends gamesave onto yours? Do you even have a gamesave or are you starting fresh? You really need to give a bit more information about your problem and what you are working with.

This would help out too. Many people would be able to help you better if you can provide more information.

Otherwise it may result in numerous trial and errors

If your borrowing your friends GT5 disc but playing on your own PS3, just play it offline. 💡 No updates to worry about, but GT5 has to load on to your systems HDD first. No need to actually be connected online to do this, but as Cargo_Rat and L2L said more details. You can't load your buddys save file though, if you borrowed that too.
