Good luck everyone, especially Tidgney who's vid helped me a great deal. Ive only manage a 2:19.714 and puts me 348th at the moment.

I've been trying to connect all day, I can access PSN but not the gt5 server, I keep getting an error ID 1:531. I even opened all the ports on my router and turned firewall completely off :(

Done a 50 lap session earlier and finally got the time that I was aiming for, not bad considering I haven't run it properly over the last month (only maybe an hour a week). Still think I've got a few more tenths in the bag, but not sure if I'll have the time to get it. Hopefully that's me qualified, now I need to be able to run quicker than high 18's on the wheel....

Saw your lap earlier Well played Spud! :), Ye getting used to the wheel is rather annoying to begin with hopefully you'll pick it up quick :).

Cheers, glad the video has helped you out! :).

O no! :(, hope you can get on tomorrow Privatejoker!

I seriously messed up a lap earlier I dropped .9 in the last sector and got a 17.3. I equaled Ti-tech to T2, but that last sector is like a do or die when your heart starts to race at 1 thousand beats a minute lol.

This is why I just do my own thing from the start to the end, anyone lurking can easily get caught out on the final day and giving it a break just means you lose the on-going development or risk getting caught out on laptime predictions.
I'm really at a loss as to where Bruno (meagainstyou) went, he's a friend of mine and he is quicker than me, capable of 2'16.4 or 5. I hope he's not leaving it until the final day. What happened to Ian (GTP_rpm) also ?

I didnt really leave it to the last minute, I was absolutly swamped with college projects and such. Still am, Just looking to have one last go. Ive played with the pad a few times to keep the track in my head. Fingers crossed I can connect tomorrow ;)

I really have no clue why I cant connect to server, Im on PSN just fine, browsing web fine, all ports open

It's well within the rules, but I think it's a bit un-sportsman like to leave it until the last day. Ti-tech85 did it last year and set the world record on the final day.

Here is a pic of the table on Day1. Notice a few names that are missing or that haven't set a time in a while:

Here's the table from March 11th.

Also, watch out for my3id_Dave who is currently 20th. He recently finished 3rd in the iRacing GP Series World Championships in Germany. I had the pleasure of doing a few races with him online 2 weeks ago. He is well capable of getting faster on the final day too.

Best of luck to everyone else, provided you don't knock me out :)

I wonder if tariq_gamil will put in a time tomorrow :? Im pretty sure he is leprekaun from last years gt academy(1st in Ireland), and he only appeared towards the end.

He has only posted one time, a 2:18.791 hes in 165th as i write

:O

I just changed my dns from my isp's to google's! and im connecting again :)

Ah surely you'll be able to set a new time if you were able to do that one so early on 👍

I really don't know how many people are trying their luck on such a big event as this, like tidgney how is it even possible that with a track so big as this, the times can be so close as they are now?
very impressive, and good luck to all of you who are trying to get their passage to the next round.
Tomorrow is going to be a really stressful and racing day.

I really dont know, it would probably take me a day to get back into it again. :nervous:

Fun fun will be cracking on after gran prix, literally a 0.075 improvement would move me about 7 places! 16 hours to go

The Chinese Grand Prix was amazing. Best race I've seen in a long, long time.

Best of luck 👍

Finally an improvement but still only 22nd. It's those last 2 right-handers!! .253 down on Eddskill in the last split. How many ineligibles are there again??

As far as I can see right now only PotassiumK is the guaranteed inelgible, so just one currently.

Remember there will possibly be folks who can't get the exact date of the finals off work, may not have a driving licence, mayh be under 18. There are a number of names I don't recognise in the 20.

100% eligible are:

1. EDDSKILL (there last year)
3. davissi (there last year)
4. GTP_Rutter200 (there last year)
5. Vibralux
6. banksy05 (there last year)
7. GMDLONDON (there last year)
9. GTLeague_Tidgney
10. Spud_Skills
12. GTP_Dessy
14. Dantastic
16. alexpez (there last year)
19. markyboy (there last year)

I don't know about the rest. As always your best bet is to push to make the top 20 for sure, like I did last year. I knew there were 3 ineligibles above me but I still ran until the deadline (look out for the ominous "Time Remaining" in the corner of your screen!) to make the 20 just to be comfortable.

All the best
Maz

I don't think there will be any time remaining notification this time so I'm going to just make sure I exit out of the track before 1am (current UK BST) when it finishes.

What happens with the seasonal's normally if you exit out past the time when its ended ?

Good luck to all you guys who kept at it... I did intend to have a few weeks off and start running the TT again for the last 2 weeks.. but never did. Last time I ran it was 11th of March.

Just wasn't hungry to make it to the final like I was last year. Impressive times at the top, have fun and play nice :D 👍

I think I just guaranteed my place (Hopefully), improved with the wheel on my time!! :D 2:16.827

Had just been practicing with active steering it helps improve consistency a bit more with me pushing so hard I lost the back end some times without it on as I was hitting my limits (Matching Ti-tech upto and including the T2 split, but trying to go above that also). Used Mild rather than strong though as I do like the back end to move.

Congrats tidgney! A few minutes ago I've set 2.17.053..I think I guaranteed my place in italy...it would be good to manage a 2.16.9xx with the pad, but I'm very happy! =)

Nice one pippo keep at it on the pad! :), get a 16.8 with it and become the fastest EU :D!

1 hour to go, about 3 hours practice today, failed to improve pretty disapointed, was consistantly dong low .9s T1 then poor middle and great T4, quite a contrast to a few weeks ago were i struggled alot more at the end espically, now doing a T1&T4 sector capable of aprox a 16.8.
Just looked im 20th (net 19th) should be ok anyway... well hopefully, sick of the track and ive hardly touched it this month, will looked again in about 30 mins to see if anybody else has passed me, will decide then to make a last effort of not i think.
Very close sort of 10th down, to be expected i spose, less time to lose on a track like Eifel as oposed to a track like suzuka, probably 50 drivers capable of a low 2.17 or better with enough practice (UK).

Bart said the NL Academy has a counter as expected, as we had last year. Has the UK one not got this then?

All the best
Maz

Still on the pace here at the moment threatening 16.5's more likely 6's but I its proving to be a difficult labour and it might need to be induced ! :dunce:

Edit: Yes the counter has appeared ! :)

Ive spent all day on this and now have a massive blister on my thumb off the G25 lol. only managed to improve by .100 today currently 26th in uk so thats me out unless by a miracle 6 people drop out. Its been fun but god ive done so many laps i dont want to see that track ever again!!

Well that's that! Kinda disappointed I couldn't get a 16, but one way or another my goal was to be in the top 20 and make it to the national finals so deep down I'm delighted :D

Well done to everyone else who made it, and bad luck to privatejoker and nismo-dave. It would have been nice to head to England with a fellow Irish competitor.

Also, as much as I am sick of the track, I think it is fantastic and I really hope it is made available for everyone to use with any car sometime in the near future.

Congratulations to all who qualified!! :D

Personally got the fastest pad time in EU with a 16.977 and came 4th (Net 3rd) in the UK all together with a 16.827! Not a bad months work and god knows how many laps!

edit: @ Dessy I really hope the track is made available I may have done thousands of laps but its still enjoyable!

Tense! It was getting a bit tight there at the end!

I never thought id say it, but I'm going to miss driving that track.

Today was a thrilling day. In the NL competition things got really close. The whole top 20 is covered by 3 tenths. I started today on #21 with a 2'17.727. I knew this wasn't going to cut it, so I made a big effort to get some times in. Last friday I had been at it for 4 hours and didn't manage to improve one bit. And oddly enough, today I started to get into a groove. The hundreds flew off. I've seen .66, .62, .550, .501, .461, .441, .393 and finally got a .317 and thrid place which I'm quite pleased with :) Well done fellow GT academy runners! Congratulations to all who qualified 👍
