In the event description box of the last event (8-5), the text says:

To progress to the "GT Academy 2012" Final Event, you must be registered on the official website gran-turismo (http://www.gran-turismo.com/) BEFORE all rounds are closed. For more details please check our website.

I opened said website in my browser and chose Australia as my location and continued to the Australian home page.

When I realised there wasn't a link to the GT Academy 2012 (lots of news about the previous ones though) on the site, I went back and chose UK. There I was able to find the GT Academy link in the main menu bar.
So when I clicked on the link and entered my PSN details as requested, I was disappointed when I got the response saying "Sorry ... the country my PSN account is registered in doesn't match the current country's page". (The current country being UK of course.)

I don't want to be excluded from the event due to an administrative matter as I've invested quite a considerable amount of time in it.

I only have a PSN account. Is that enough, or do I still need to register? If so, how do I do it?

Cheers,

Says who?
There are quite a number of Australians participating, and we've been listed in the categories, and allocated to a region.

I consider this a technical issue rather than a political one.

Would be surprised if this hasn't already been covered in another thread. But I guess that it's a legislation problem considering this kind of competitions for Australia.
It's like the Finns that are entering, the are listed in the rankings but when the time trail ends, it ends for them, no chance for them to progress further.
The reason you can enter and are listed in the rankings is just because they allowed people from the non eligible countries to get the cars that are used in the academy.

Nothing like asking a question and then questioning the correct answer. Why even ask?

Whilst the answer might be correct, it didn't provide any backup. Considering the time I've spent, and I've just signed up to the site, it wasn't the answer I was looking for.

I searched the forum b4 I posted and couldn't find anything relating to the final event. Personally, I would like some supporting evidence. A link would be terrific if someone can provide one.

The eligible countries are:-

Europe:

Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg
France
Italy
Spain and Portugal
Switzerland
Austria and Poland
UK and Ireland

The United States of America
Russia
Germany

Taken from here

It may not be the answer you're looking for, but it is the correct one. GT Academy 2012 is not available in Australia.

And you can lose the attitude. Thanks.
