A Really Simple thread
If you can choose...
Do you prefer having "the mini game" GT Academy or a new patch/DLC/more content to GT5?

:::EDIT:::

I created this thread not another wihlist, not another bash, discussion post. I made it mainly to know what do users prefer, according to their locations or wathever reason they have.

If you could choose wich one would you prefer. That why i made this post....
If someone has been hurt as a result of this thread, sorry. Not intended.

GT Academy is for a limited time only.

I'll choose Update even though this isn't exactly the best of polls.

Just a poll for this "special" time. There was no DLC/Patch, some may wanted a DLC on March other and glad to see a new version of GT A....

Just to see the overall opinion for Pd decision.

It's not PD's decision really, it's Sony's and Nissan's

As much as I love that PD, Sony and Nissan gives their consumers the chance of a lifetime, it just isn't that great when your country isn't on the list of participants.

I wouldn't mind another DLC. I just wish PD would give us some freakin news on the matter. Just a little update, stating future plans for updates/DLC. Is it really to much to ask that a company keeps their consumers updated?

At being more communicative with the fans, recolect more opinions, who knows maybe with all the brainstorming that in the forums occur could inspire PD... just dreaming for now...

I don't really care. I'm just glad PD gave us some form of new content.

What I believe what Kaz and PD would do. If the people can't participate in the event, I think PD would release the DLC/Update on the same day when the event starts. Remember, I said "I think" they would, I'm not sure. We'll just have to wait and see. I hope I helped. :)

I fail to see the "Canadian GTAcademy" option :grumpy:.

That said, from a marketing point of view, renewing GTAcademy makes the most sense. And it's not outside the realm of possibility that more DLC could be showing up after, or even during...

Maybe the marketing division really FAIL... with just targeting few countries instead of a wider audience, giving also a DLC #4.

Or just guessing, GT Academy could be hidding something more, new cars. Maybe a new nissan GT Academy 2012 Special Edition.

I hope they have some good news regarding GT... for the non "available countries. :indiff:

EDIT: Anyway, congrats for those who can archieve their racing dreams!👍

I'm with Slip here..

You assume it's up to the marketing division to make those decisions. Just "including" a country isn't as easy as it sounds.

Technically, if we get prize cars that switch to GT5, wouldn't that be DLC?

+1 on the Canadian GT Academy. Hello... uh, Greg Moore, anyone?

If GT academy was available to everyone world wide to enter I would have voted for it but I'm from Australia so I voted for DLC because we are not able to compete.

My thoughts exactly. 👍

I voted for the patch (don´t care about DLC really)...because GT Academy is coming now so no reason to discuss that.

Hopefully PD is working in some cool additions and cool free upgraded stuff, like they did with NASCAR cars and those free cars as Toyota GT86 + the concept, and with some luck we´ll get the Acura NSX concept. And of course bug fixes and improvements.
More like the Spec 3.0. (of course we don´t know anything about that and not even if we are going to see it happening in the future...pure speculation but if it happens will be fantastic)

I much prefer the GT Academy demo/mini-game. It's actually something relatively new and should provide some decent entertainment, as well as giving some prizes that can be transferred to GT5.

DLC isn't important, I don't mind waiting a couple more months for that. A patch is always welcome though.

I like GT Academy and I look forward to the new challenges...however.. I still want DLC..
(I am one of the people who was actually content with GT5 when it came out, I would have played it DLC or not)... The mere fact that they gave me the option to get some new add ons was great... I love a game that can be continually updated so naturally I want some newer tracks and cars...

Neither.

The little demo-thing is fine - especially since those who play GT5 get "special gifts".

But I DO want a patch. And the DLC that was once promised every two months that is now back to "whenever we feel like it". So yeah, all of it :D.

Bit of a useless thread, we get GT academy.
If you like it or not.

And if you don't want it, don't download it.

Patch + DLC !
But you havnt got this as an option...

But i think they wont add many more features to GT5 as time is going on now and they're not making money on updating the game, on the other hand with DLC they do.

Love how people don't care about GT Academy, which whilst not fully-fledged DLC doe introduce something new to GT5 for free.

I'd love more DLC but I won't turn my nose up at this. Any way to expand on GT5 is good.

Personally, I hate DLC. I would rather PD put their time into making GT6 instead of putting more things into GT5. I will probably get flamed for this but I don't really want another patch. I like GT5 the way it is and would rather they made GT6 the best game they possibly can.

You shouldn't! Less GT5 DLC = more GT6 content for free (unless they hold back for GT6 DLC). But knowing PD, they won't hold much back.

So, while it's quiet right now, we understand cars/tracks are being produced. Whether or not some arrive as GT5 DLC or not, we do know we'll see them as GT6 content.

I still maintain a (November) 2013 release.

That was my reasoning. Also a late 2013 release date just seems too early for PD. Plus GT6 looks likely to be released on the PS4.

Chance to get a fully-paid route in professional motorsport for free..

or..

Pay for some content for a game which is 1.5 years old..

Are people seriously thinking this is a choice? I take the chance to get a fully-paid motorsports drive! Why on earth would you rather have some more content to buy instead of a free chance to win an amazing opportunity?

GT Academy is the dream - and it creates well over half of Gran Turismo's worldwide publicity. I'm pretty damn sure we wouldn't get licenses such as Ferrari or Lamborghini if Sony/PD/Nissan were not organising things like GT Academy. The whole image of Gran Turismo is greatly enhanced by GT Academy, especially when one (or even all!) of the graduates do well. It gives GT a kind of authenticity and a link to motorsport success. If you want manufacturers to include licenses or even bend over backwards putting their models in old or new, this is the kind of thing that must go on.

I'm not surprised that once again people are mis-understanding a piece of software as equivelant work on something else. Creating the GT Academy software does not mean we are losing a DLC pack. Just as creating 10 Nissan Skylines does not mean we are losing 10 Ferraris. GT Academy is good for everybody.
