hi guys.. i was looking at the terms and conditions and i found this:

2.5. During the National Final, Qualifying Entrants will be required to complete various in-Game time trials. Each National Final may include additional wildcard entrants who will have qualified through a separate entry mechanism.

anyone know something else about this?

The possibility of returning entrants who made it to last years final who showed potential, even if they don't enter this round and/or fail to qualify in the top 20 of their country.

Erm... Guys who just lost out in getting to the second round, but through the various web communities made their name as a big GT fan and all round driving enthusiast (i.e. people who give so much for the fan community. Jordan maybe? :P Don't know how skilled a driver he is though)

It will be when they have stands set up at various events.

Example: Le Mans 2008 had a GT Academy stand where (something like) the fastest time would qualify for the national final.

if thats the case... thats not really fair at all.. because we are putting a strong effort together and a person who can make 10 clean laps on that type of events will have the same chances to be at silverstone.. hummm :ouch:

Maybe, but they're hardly going to make it through the top 20 by being lucky. If they're good then it's fair competition. If they suck then you'll smash them and it's one less legitimate competitor you have to face. Honestly, who would you rather face, number 21 on the hotlap board or Random Joe Beer-Swiller from yon local race?

'Participants can also enter at the GT Academy Stand (number 19150) at the AUTOSPORT International Racing Car Show, held at the NEC from 14th - 17th January 2010'

Looks like if you set the fastest time over the three days there you get an entry place!

thanks for the info 👍

another thing is that

"2.7. The winners of each National Final shall be those who record the fastest in-Game time trials and win the head to head challenges (“National Final Winners”). There will be 2 National Final Winners selected from each of the following National Finals: the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain, and one National Final Winner selected from each of the following National Finals: Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, the Nordic territory (which is Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden), New Zealand and Australia. The National Final Winners will win the opportunity to participate in the Event described below."

I apologise now for being so cynical (due to past top flight competition unfairness), but I would hazzard a guess that France will have more than 20 drivers going onto their national final.

I believe they had up to 24 drivers who attended the last GT Academy instead of the widely published 20 limit, which was possibly down to special events taking place elsewhere. Strange that the same old faces tend to be aware of these events, whilst others don't.

I think I've said enough. :nervous:

Oh, one more thing:

Remember that it will be highly likely that a 21st stand-in driver would attend each National Final in case of a DQ or a no-show.
