Well after miles of racing I decided to bring my GT-ONE to GT auto for an oil change and stuff. After changing my oil I noticed my paint looked a little faded. I decided to wash it to see what would happen. To my surprise the paint restored to it's full, colourful glory and I could continue racing:sly:

Sorry about the title I forgot to write wash
I searched and found stuff like "is there any point to car wash", "Car wash?" but no proper awnser

I am still convinced the car wash is completely psychological. I can never tell the difference even after long enduros and nobody has been able to produce any photo evidence.

I just don't get why PD won't replace the guys washing your car into women in GT Auto branded bikinis while washing our cars...as well as each other...

+1 👍

However, we'd end up with an entire generation of GT players who just sat there washing cars all day and then we'd be getting threads like 'don't you hate having to race again just so you can go back and wash your car?' LOL

The car wash does work.

After running the b-spec 9 hour endurance my Formula GT, while not dirty, does lose it's shine.

Quick car wash, and it's shiny again.

If that thread ever pops up, I'd reply:

"Don't you hate complaining on the internet over something tiny that may have no effect on your life as well as our lives?":odd:

I always wash my car after every race for some reason. I just like the feeling of taking care of my cars...albeit they are fake.

My Furai gets weird white blurry lines on some parts and especially on the sides of the rear wing. Car wash fixes this... but I have no idea what it is.

Probably a rating issue, you don't want GT5 to turn from Everyone to Teen. I know I don't.

Sadly that would be applicable to a lot of threads here already.

In older GTs you could sell your car for a few more credits after having it washed. Haven't tried it in GT5 though.

It used to do pretty much exactly the same thing in GT4: car starts to look dull, wash it & it's nice & shiny again, yawn.

I think it'd be cooler to do a car wash drive through, one of those big thorough ones that you'd have to get out and watch it through the windows in the guest area, and then at the end the GT guys/womans would detail the interior. Would be so awesome...

ooo ooo maybe different kind of washes too at different costs.

Quick rinse - 500 cr.
Standard Wash and Wax - 1000 cr.
Premium Wash and Detail - 2000 cr.

That'd liven things up a bit.

It seems that driving in the rain brings back the shine on your car too.

How was that possible? The hole interior will get wet :dopey:

I hope you realise you've just added a year to the development time of GT6! :p

This is what my car looked like nearing the end of the 4 hour Nurburgring endurance race (quick cell phone pic).. when I got back to my garage or GT Auto, the damage and dirt was all gone without doing anything. It looked slightly dull before car wash (which coulda been my imagination), a bit shinier afterward. What I can conclude is that dirt does not stay on a car in this game..

DING DING DING!!! I keep saying it. Others keep saying it. The car wash does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! After the race ends, cars clean themselves. I'm guessing a future patch will address this but for right now...this thread should be closed or the OP should change it.

Like I wrote earlier... It raises the resale value of your car by a few credits... Just like in the real world.

Dirt should accumlate more and more. And then hand prints should start to appear in the dirt on the boot handle.

Just like in real life.

Case closed. Car wash only gets rid of dullness and increases sale value, apparently 👍
Mods can close this

It has never been proven that a wash even gets rid of dullness or makes the car shiny again.
So it's more like, case closed car wash doesn't do anything except maybe possibly increasing sale value apparently
Mods can close this thread now
