GT Championship car recommendations....

Hey all,
I'm in the process of grinding away to save up money to get some sort of Le Mans car so I can have a hope of wining the races. What cars have you guys used to do that series of races? Anything I need to do or should do, so I can win the races?

You can enter those races in the RedBull Jr... I used the Audi S1 (it's a price car but you have to collect all the stars in the S series)... if you like an easy win you can detune a FormulaGT.. but in the end any group C or LMP car will do the job just fine(put some turbo on it if you'r too slow)..

I used the Chapparal 2J with a stage 3 turbo and set to 286mph. Won easily but I already had the car from IB level...4.5M is a lot for one car

McLaren F1 GTR (long wheel base) comes close, need to fiddle with aero setting and suspension when at Silverstone or Nurburgring. Makes it fun.

I was thinkin' about the Toyota Minolta 88c or the Nissan R92. I had both of those cars in GT5 and loved em'. I got the Minolta upto just over 1000 hp and the Nissan was just about the same.

How'd you get the car from the IB level? Also, someone else mentioned that car cost 4.5 mil, but when I go to the dealership (single player races, not online) the car is 15 mil....what gives? Why is mine so freakin' expensive?

I used the Minolta and won it on the first try. Golded all races except silver in Nurburgring.

As strella said, if you want easy mode just enter it in the RedBull Jr car and all opponents will be the same. As long as you tune the transmission correctly for each course you'll easily beat them.

Is your game 1.03? I ask as I think it got a price reduction sometime after release...beyond that, no idea why yours is 15

As to how I got it, when I started my new save (a month ago) I did all the seasonals first so had over 12M credits...bought the 2J a couple of days later

The Minolta is VERY fast. I used that for a few of the "endurance" races in Super.

Yep, mine is 1.03. I don't play online so I can't get any updates when they come out. What are these seasonals you're talking about? Online, I'm guessing.....I have to grind in order to get any money...kinda sux.

Seasonal events. Available from your home screen if you connect to the network and log into PSN.
Very nice rewards for easy driving missions. And you get a BMW M4 for free :)

Yeah, you need to be online to do them. As @mr_lab_rat (cool name!!) said, they are extra events for extra money. At the moment, GT6 has some time trials (S2000@Tsukuba, Scirocco@Deep Forest to name 2), a couple which give free cars for getting bronze (the new BMW M4, Mario Andretti's Hudson....though both can be got from the dealerships anyway). They had 6 seasonal bonus events over the Christmas period which paid out 12Million credits (with the 200% log-in bonus) for golding them. They had them in GT5 too, but they also had repeatable events for a lot of credits (some events with the log in bonus paid up to 1.5 to 2M credits per race as there was a PP sliding scale....the lower you went, the more you got) and we are hoping they come to GT6 at some point.

Well, we still have to grind as the events so far have been time trials so only pay once. I normally grind the Like The Wind for credits if I only feel like a quick race, else I do the Red Bull Junior Championship for 1.2M credits for half an hours work when combined with the log-in bonus...which I guess you don't get either as you don't use online? Mind you, the RB Jr event would still be 600k for 25 or so minutes...not that bad and they are fun to drive

I used the Toyota 7 but for some reason its headlamps dont work, so for Nurburgring, you'll have to turn the racing line on, blindly follow it and hope for the best!
