Well I was driving down a dirt road when I came up on a corner. I slowed down and as I was taking the turn a girl in a neon took the same turn at a high speed and slid. I slammed the brakes, lost control, and I met a tree. She didn't stop and I was more worried about my friend next to me. So well my bumper is shot, the ground fxs are cracked, the fog light is broke, is misaligned, and the tranny got messed when I was trying to get it out of the ditch. I'll take some pictures and post em.

As for me I'm cut up pretty good, brusied, and really sore. I just need to take it easy for a few days. But I'm going to be broke for a while since I gotta repair the truck. I'm not even going to turn it into the insurence.

so the girl in the neon was in the lane next to you, facing the same direction, and started sliding toward you?

or was she in the opposing lane of traffic, driving towards you, when she slid?

it was just a dirt road and she skidded on the dirt since it had been raining. She was going south bound and I was going north bound. It was either hit the tree or hit her. I would have hurt her bad since she was sideways. I would have got the door. I think she hit the brakes hard and it just skidded. I'm not sure it happened fast.

Man, that sucks.
Glad you are ok.
I didnt get a chance to race this weekend at all. Sorry no times for me. :banghead:
Street, hope things go well with you.
Oh, to lighten things up, me and the car club got to see a sneak preview of the new Jim Carre movie coming out. It didnt cost a thing thanks to Lance, one of the club members with inside pull.
The movie was so funny. I havent laughed that hard in years in a movie. I even had a tear there toward the end, it was that good.
See it when it comes out, its one of Jim Carre's best.

Well with the release of GT4 right around the corner I thought I would bring this dead thread back to life.

I don't know who still lurks around the forums. I know Gil does but for the rest of the guys I don't know, I think I've seen Misnblu around.

We need to get the team back on its feet with some new members.

Still lurkin' and interested.
How about more of an experimentation focus this time round as none of us will really know GT4?

Sounds good. What do you have in mind we do? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

We are going to need more team members though.

Me personally I can't wait to get my hands on the trucks. What do you think the Dodge Ram will run the Nurburging Ring in?

I'm not sure what we could/should do.
I want to see how the game is formatted first.
I will likely go straight to licenses this time.
Or to the arcade mode, to get a preliminary handle on handling and to familiarize with the tracks before it "counts".

Well we will start looking around for some members and try to get back on our feet before we start any competitions.

Oh ya I got bored....

Well, looks like we got the crew together again. 👍
What's up ppl.
I'm still around, lurking in the depths of the Planet. :dopey:
I don't know if I'm up for any racing right now though.
Paintballs got me hooked, line, sinker, wallet, life, time, and you get the picture.
You guys thinking about racing again??
Let me know, I may find the time to join in.
Misnblu

Ya we are thinking about starting back up and I know how it goes with time, my truck has me the same way right now.

I got GT4 a day early! Wahoo! There are so many cars that I just can't wait to drive them all. This time our racing series is going to be sweet with the amount of everything!!!!

Oh yes I need to wish a Happy Birthday to one of great team members...GIL!!!! Happy Birthday man I hope you have a good one.

Thanks,
Got an XMODS 350Z, and a bunch of books.
GT4 alas, did not release in this neck of the woods yet.👎

The GT Grandmasters are looking for talented racers who are willing to commit to racing series with the new GT4 game. There really aren't any rules, just as long as you keep your times honest and you stay some what committed. Your good to go!

Happy Birthday Gil.
I'm interested in this but must practice and buy the game.
When is all of this going to start?
I've got a big paintball tournament this weekend but will be taking 3 weeks off for rest and taking care of some bills. I should have the time to get the game and get rid of the rust. :dopey: *Wipes dust off of the game console along with cobwebs*
Let me know something.
Misnblu

I don't think it will start till we all get a hang of the game, I know for one I need a lot more practice considering I haven't busted out GT3 in a while...let alone any other racing games. I'll let you know though.

I really need to recruit people!

Thanks.
I'll keep posted to this thread or if you have more information on another thread, PM me and I'll respond.
I can't always get on the forums, stay too busy but am interested in this racing.
Big paintball tourney in two days. :dopey:
21 teams coming from 4 states, should be a good one.
Wish me luck. 👍

Keep your head down, shoot only at the bad guys, and remember the three rules of shooting:
Front sight,
Front sight
Front sight.
Good luck.

Thanks Gil and even though this is a bit off topic, must mention as we are on cloud 9.
We came in 8th out of 20 teams that arrived. They had to turn away 4 teams for this tournament and was the best we have ever had as a team.
We dominated the Prelims and garnered 620 points out of 900 for a spot into the finals.
I finally got to play the front man position and had many kills. Not bad for a 45 year old playing a game of 16-25 year old players. I was also the oldest player participating and you couldn't tell it by the way I played or the team.
We finally got the recognition we've been deserving for our paintball team and our team name is making a name for itself in our region. 👍
We rolled the competition but in the finals, ran out of steam. It was mostly me that ran out of steam as I was not in the condition for playing the frontman position. I've always played back man which is much easier to play. Front, you have to run, shoot, dive, run, shoot, dive some more and make aggressive moves to make your kills. If you're not in shape, you'll pay for it in the end if you want to be at the podium.
No biggie though, I'll be ready for my new roll on the team and be in the best shape of my life for the next tournament. 👍 I loved that position and is what I do best in paintball, play aggressive and like there is no tomorrow.
We didn't win but beat teams that were fully sponsored and had more years of experience than us so that made up for the lack of the top 3. Playing Novice/ Am teams was great, especially when you're only a first year team playing Rookie division.
Thought I'd post about it and will be some time before I get off of this cloud.

Hmmm, not sure and will have to wait for someone to confirm you.
I did get the GT4 game and love it.
$50 bucks seemed a bit much but have it now and can't get away from it.

That's in america in englnad it's 39.99pound wich is about 50 bucks so that's about right

Damn, it's a bit dusty in here.
Seen a lot of Joey in other forums.
Haven't seem much Misnblu.
Does Saleen ever come to the boards at all anymore?

I'm still here.
Nice to see you Gil and glad you've not departed from the GTPlanet ways.
Yeah, it's a bit dusty here and geez, 2005 is a long time. lol

I'm still playing GT4 and am 80 percent finished. WIth the advent of the GT5 coming out, I'll have to invest in the PS3 machine.

Plus, I've been working on my own, real life, soon to be race car/ time attack car of my own.
I should have it finished in about 2 more years and have invested about 10 grand into her so far. When it's said and done, should have another 15-20 grand into her for a car that noone would ever expect to be a track day car with time attack ambitions. ;)

Good to see you man. :D

Good to see you too.
Last I remember you wer paint-ballin' up a storm:lol:
Hope the car goes together well, and easily.
Good luck.

Actually I was.
My teams last tournament was May of 2007. I then had to quit for work related reasons and a screwy work schedule.
I quit that job after 6 months and am now working for Northrop Grumman Ship Systems as a radar tech. Great work and have a 4 day work schedule with a 3 day weekend.
So I'm getting ready for more paintball in March or April and may start a new team this season.
Since I couldn't play paintball, decided to do some work on the car and it's now had a complete makeover since I've started to work on it.
I've finally set my plans on what I want to do with it. :dopey:

Anyway, don't count me out yet.
I'll always be here as long as there is a GTPlanet. :D 👍

Wow I just noticed that there was posting going on in here. Good to see you guys back. Maybe once GT5 hits we can think about a revival since we will be able to race online? I don't know your PS3 situation though Gil, I wouldn't want to leave a founding member behind.

Heh, I need to still purchase a PS3. I'm waiting for the GT5 game to come out before I buy.
But when it does, I'll be PS3ing it all the way.

But yeah, it would be fun to play online in some competitions. :D

Currently no PS3.
Truthfully, I've played very little PS2 in the last few months.
It is a fair DVD player though.
I've spent 3 of the last four Saturdays looking at cars.
Thankfully, we've bought the cars and now I'm chilling.
OF course today, I was at the dealer for an oil change...
I truly don't know when there will be a PS3 in my future.
I Haven't seen any games that really blew my skirt up, so I've not been that interested...
