Well lets see how good you guys are. Lets have just a friendly race and see if you guys still got it.

Lets say 40,000 cr and the car has to be FWD. The track lets say Deep Forest. The times will be submitted by the end of the week. This is not part of the comp just a warm up.

Looks like I gotta drive a honda :D

I see a lightweight Honda in my future.
Is the Spoon Civic Eligible? or is it over the cost limit?

Im in.
Friday is the deadline then??
Misnblu

not sure on the Spoon Civic. I don't have one so I'm not sure on th e cost.

Friday deadline.

Good Luck

So it won't be an issue, I won't use it. I'm sure that there is something out there that will "do the job".:D

Here were the cars I decided I'd try. I based this decision on the power to weight ratio of each car and nothing more in particular.

MazdaRx7 RZ $39,980 dollars.
Power/ Weight= 4.379
Best time=1:29.832

Mustang CobraR $31,150 dollars.
Power/ Weight= 4.448
Best time= 1:32.421

Civic TypeR $19,980 dollars
Options to make the cr limit.
Power/ Weight=5.83 before mods
Best time= 1:35.279

These are only preliminary times and hope to better them. Its a tough track.
Good luck all.

the RX7 and the Cobra aren't FWD. Only FWD in this warm up.

Oops, never mind. lol
Misnblu
Dang. *shoots self*

Someone say my name? ;)

I've done some testing with the good cars eligible for this and have run into some suprises.
I could cut some more time if I had enough for tranny, and good tires.
All of the cars, I'm running I've set up for a healthy dose of "lift-throttle" oversteer. I've two more to test before I pick an outright winning time to post. But I humbly put forth the ITR as the best car for this, even though it's the most expensive.

I have yet to run the Celica and the Civic type R. Though the normal Civic is pretty fast, as it's cheep and only weighs 950 Kg.
List of cars mods and results later today or maybe tommorow.

I've got to start all over then. :banghead: :(
Ill keep the information on the Civic but will test some other cars too.
Will post soon on the times.

What car had you been running?
I've narrowed it down to five cars.
They are:
Honda ITR. at $25,160 with a P/W ratio of 5.482.
Honda Civic Type R. at 19,980 with P/W ratio of 5.833
Mitsu FTO GP-R at 21,600 P/W ratio of 5.867
Celica (New) at 19,700 P/W ratio of 6.162
Fiat Turbo Coupe Plus at 21,030 P/W ratio of 6.273

So far the top performers are the FTO, and the Integra Type-R.
The FTO took me right to the $40,000.

Each of these ladies, was shod with Sport Tires, I also ran a race flywheel in each car.
For S & G I ran the Civic SiR II as my first car and I ran a best time of 1'30.556.

I'll be running the Celica, and the Civic Type-R after I finish watching "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."
I needed a break.

I'll also have to rebuild all my cars, as I forgot to save.:grumpy:
I did save all my best runs though.:D

after I finish watching "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."
Ah yes, my favorite movies, tha Potter series.
What entertainment for all ages. ;)
Sorry for the offtopic, but the Potter movies like the Matrix movies and Lord of the Rings movies are my favorites. Not to mention the Blade series, X-men series, etc.

Well I just did a test run with a Fiat Coupe and ran a 1'31.658, I need to look around more and I just got a few minutes to do it.

I did another run with the civc SiR and I wasn't impress with the times I was turning. My girlfriend was better then me in that car. She ran a 1'32.923 and I only could manage a 1'35.512. I'll never live this down.

I ran a few from the pack of FFs. When are times due?

Joey said the end of the week. I'm sure he'd hook us up with an extension if we asked.
I'll post mine now so Saleen can come and kick me to the curb.
Of all the cars I ran the only two I could'nt get under 1'30 were the Civic type-R and the Civic SiR II.

The fastest in the stable was the Integra Type R (J). I ran it at 237 HP. My best lap was 1'28.828.
Next was my FTO with 219 HP. It pulled a 1'29.825.

My strategy was to get the "shoes", semi-race suspension, race flywheel, from there I bought all the power I could afford. (see list of cars in last post)

With the ITR I just slapped sports suspension on and called it a day. It is a stable, fast little car.:D

Good times Gil, as usual.
Well, I know what I've got to do.
Gil, you're the man to beat right now.
Street, shame on you, letting a girl beat you. :banghead:
Misnblu

I'm only the guy to beat till Saleen jumps into the fray. He is sure to find another second out there that I missed.
One of the 'secrets' is to get the nose down and the tail up on these cars. With the ITR I believe that I just "tightened things up" a bit.
Also, on Deep Forest with a FF car, letting off the gas will induce some oversteer without having to use the brakes to scrub off too much speed.

*edit*
Had a go in the RSX for "fairness" I guess. It's comparable to the Civics. Too much weight for real speed. Ran High 1'31's in it.

Times due friday if thats not possible let me know.

I ran some more times this morning with the Civic Type R and got 1'28.923. I need to keep at this!!!!

I can't let Katie beat me again! Ashame on me :( Oh well I love her.

Friday is cool with me. Gil, i also found the Integra Type R to be the quickest of the pack. After running about 7-10 laps, i got a time of 1:28.055 I'm going to try some other tuning options, and see if i can better my time.

God I was at Katie's house tonight and we were doing what we do a lot...play GT3. And yet again she beat me in another race she pulled a 1'28.134 and I got a 1'28.943 in the Type R Civic. Seeesshhh Katie is better then me. I knew I loved her for some reason. :D

Did the Civic Type R adhere to the 40k limit, or were you just racig for fun? and were talking Deep Forest, right?

it was with in the 40k I think I need to reprice it out I might be over by 200-300 credits

Limit

and then there's me, keeping track of Oil Changes and everything. :)

If I'm within a second of you, one of two things has happened.
1. You have slowed down. (not likely)
2. I have gotten faster. (perhaps).
I'm pumped:D
I've never been this close. I'll have to run a few more laps to see if I can beat Joe's girlfriend.

Joe, We could make her our fifth member. She can definitely drive.:D

I couldn't get those kind of times out of the Civic. Put the girl in the Integra and see what she can do.

Hmmm, I doubt I'll make the Friday deadline with my times.
How about an extension for Sunday??

Since you're here, can we assume that you are alive and well, and that the insurance company and the body shop have a lot to talk about?
