GT Kart 125 "SPL" (?)

What does SPL mean? Is this a shifter kart? From one of the photos released before the 2.02 update/DLC, it kinda looks like there is a shift knob on the right side of the column.

Could it be true? Can this be? Has one of my top 5 wishes come true? I love racing karts because they are much fun, and even. I like racing others on an equal playing field.

Plus I'm damn fast, so if you see me out there, bring it.

I can't wait to find out, so I'm asking you. If you've satisfied the requirements and tried the GT 125 SPL kart, lemme know what you think. That means you will have bought at least one DLC pack from October, and you will have installed the 2.02 update.
 
SPL stands for Shiny Pink Lady.
 
Same hp and weight as the stock 125 and 1 gear as well. I ddint see any difference side by side in my garage. Mine is green as well.
 
Special paint?

Mine is an orange chrome.
 
No difference in performance to the normal Kart 125, just a special chrome paintjob. I think it has a slightly different black accenting as well, but it may just be the lighting.

Oh, and it's tradeable ;)
 
Just a small wind shield on the front it looks like ? Not pretty :crazy:
 
so if its the same then what was the point in this new kart?

It has no headlight in the front, unlike the other 3 DLC karts.

There is one big difference with this Kart, suprised on one has posted it yet. Try changing the tire compound>>>>💡

Yea I noticed this too. I wonder if this was intentional or a missed detail?

What does it have now?? I think the others are sport softs. Did they put racing tires on it?

Mine is Black btw. Just gloss black

You can buy any road tires for this Kart (from the tuning shop only).


EDIT: makes sure to only buy the tires you want since you'll get stuck with the last tires you buy, you cant change tires once you buy them.

SECOND EDIT: You actually can change your tires in the pits online, maybe offlione too but I didnt test it out.

I was checking out the options on it partly to see if it had a gearbox 👎 and found out I could change the tires. I added racing softs and found it understeered like crazy but a slightly harder compound on the back and softs on the front might make it grip quite a bit better and still be able to turn. :scared:

I have read that the FT86 Concept II '11 that folks are getting for buying multiple DLC packs is indeed tradeable, but again, I am only reading what others are writing. I haven't tested it yet, but it looks like they are already trading it in the Marketplace. 👍

Good to know and just to confirm, you are talking about the new Kart that came with V2.02, right?

Or were you referring to the Concept II?
 
Actually, the 125 SPL has 2 Headlight's rather than one...just noticed that while driving it through Kart Space.

There are two headlights on the front, just to let you know.

Now others are saying you can't and can trade this kart, any idea if you can?
 
I'm not even from Missouri, but "Show Me" comes to mind. I'll have to test when I get home, because I'm seeing conflicting information, too. 👍
 
After testing the 125 spl handles better imo with or without a tire change.

Oha and it looks good.
 
it is true that RS tires make it understeer badly. so, to the drawing board...
