JR98 GAMING
I'm enjoying GT Legends and have just given the GTR-2 demo a bash, and love em both, in fact I loved doing a 30 min endurance race in the 575 Maranello GT on Catalunya on AI at 100% and all assists off, it was very fun. So this is sort of a place to talk about the games GT Legends, GTR, GTR 2, Race 07 and GTR Evolution all by Simbin who now make the rather disapointing Raceroom.

I love GT Legends and have put many hours into it (steam says 5 Minutes, but really its like 5-10 hours. My favourite car/track combo is the RX-7 GR2 on the fictional Durley Test Track and Skid Pan track. I get up to 250KMH on there (300KMH in the GTO version), and the sound is just amazing on that car. For GTR-2 Demo I'm stuck with Catalunya, but on the full thing I'd love to take a GTS Viper or C6R Vette around Road America (If it's in game, if not I'm sure someone has modded it in). For Race 07 I'd love to take a fast BTCC car around silverstone. As for GTR EVO, I'd love to take a grid of GT cars (With me in an M3 GTR), around the ring. All great games and are all incredibly cheap. So let the discussions of Simbins greatest sims commence

Dont buy GTR2 via Steam thats a terrible choice, look for a boxed version. There are so many mods for gtr2 its not possible to list them all. Some of the better mods are getting harder to find but the modding community is still there. GTR2 stock content is only Fia GT 03-04 but if you look hard enough you can compile FIA GT 1997 - 2013 and thats including the Blancpain series.

Why would I not buy the Steam version? anyway I tried the GTR EVO demo and found it to be just as good, plus I know how many mods are available, on GT Legends I have an RX-7, Mustang BOSS 302, SHELBY GT500, Datsun 240Z, Nissan SKYLINE GT-R and a few nice tracks like DAYTONA, LE MANS, SILVERSTONE and AINTREE. I'll probably get GTR EVO, as it as stock has WTCC 2006, WTCC 2007. WTCC 1980's, a few GT RACING series, CCX Series, Viper Series, Apollo Series, Radicals, F3. Before mods and its the same price as GTR2, but next time I get some money onto Steam I'll buy GTR EVO, although whats so bad about GTR2 on Steam that I shouldn't buy it? I'll look for a boxed version, but I haven't seen one where I am, I heard that the Steam version just removes the liveries of the Ferrari's and Porsches, which is a bit annoying but I prefer the Corvettes and Vipers anyway, is there anything else the steam version does?

I'll join in with the praising of GT Legends and GTR2, and throw in rFactor :D

Believe it or not (given those games ages), I've only in the last few weeks upgraded my pc
so that I can finally play the above with any kind of acceptable visuals and frame rate

So yes, agree with the OP

ps. and the amount of mods and tracks available for them is epic
