Posted this earlier in the GTR thread
Saw some picture on another forum and must say, wow, nice, very nice:

I tried to translate this German text. Correct me if I didn't translated some parts correctly (especially our German members, who can do a better job than me)

Developer ====> 10tacles/simbin

Genre =====> racing

Release =====> Q4 2005 PC (international)
=====> Xbox, PS2 (still planning)

Based on the awarded GTR, GT Legends not only makes the hearts of timeless race cars enthusiasts,go faster. Car legends of the 50, 60, 70, like the, for instance, GT40, Corvette or the AC Cobra, make childhood dreams come true.
While the excellent technique (engineering) and the physics (driving), secures the authentic car handling, GT Legends offers, unskilled players, with it’s basic and easy (arcade mode), a thrilling championship and a lot of joy.
In modern retro charme GT Legends knows how to inspire young and old to compete in championships between man and machine.

GT Legends will be developed with Gmotor2-engine, with some Simbin tweaks. Don't know what that is but has something to do with ISI and rfactor.

Wow that looks really great! That Escort and Capri look perfect, I can't wait to take these sports for a spin. I hope the 250GTO appears in the game....

Looks cool! Appeals to me more than the cars in GTR, although they are godly fast and make ace noises. I hope the engine sound is as good in this game :)

And yay a Ford Capri, although I'm still waiting for a game to have a stock mk3 (or whatever mk is it that has 2 lights) one.

The graphics look mouthwatering.........unfortunately you would probably not be able to get that quality on console.............looks amazing, can't wait to see a vid! :)

its just another mod, a dif series on same old isi engine.
its deved as a mod just like gtr was deved as a mod (on top of a known base that existed already)
its sold as one piece, a standalone game as u call it, but its still a mod+oldbase=1 new product.
i dont like buying the same old physics engine over and over again but thats what happens when you buy, f1c, nascar thunder, gtr or now this.

I think it is not just a mod. I read on another forum (a simbin member attends this forum) and he said that GT Legends is based on a new engine. ==> Gmotor2-engine with some typical simbin tweaks. GTR was based on that F1 thing engine.

gtr is gmotor engine also.
the 2 refers to the gfx upgrade for dx9 mostly.
still same old engine. feels like it too.
if u like nascar thunder, nascar sim racing, f1c, f1 2002, gtr and rfactor then u will surely like this one also.
i didnt like those so i prolly wont like this one either.
they pump a new mod every 3/4 months.

Ah, okay :)
Now I am all confused. Don't know what to believe anymore. I think the most important thing is, that I hope I am going to like this one as well. I must admit though I am a hugh fan of GTR (because it is pretty realistic but can be improved), I don't really like the graphics (background, track etc...). Cars are pretty nice though. Graphics look old and out dated, but like I said, I really like GTR 👍 Don't like nascar, F1,...

Kidcodea, you seem to know more about these, so called, engines. This is a little bit off topic but can you tell me what kind of engine they use to program GT4???

gt series afaik uses their own. no idea on details but thru its generations has been described as a dumbed down sim engine in arcade disguise. even enthusia has a better engine for console market now. physicswise gt4 is quite poor for nowadays standards.
i wish kazunori played live for speed and n2003 for 2 weeks online and then made gt5. but thats a dream...

Are you moronic?

Simbin is known for making a full blown sim and it pretty obvious that Simbin will make this mod a great sim.

E3 review
http://www.simhq.com/_technology/technology_052e.html

Read carefully, lots of fearture in GT Legends that a lot of sim racers are going to like, quote taken directly form review:
Motorsports by Chunx
As in GTR, all the race tracks are faithfully and painstakingly reproduced using satellite and GPS mapping techniques that model "every bump" in order to provide the best possible representation of the real racing environment. Dynamic and changing track conditions are also modeled in GTL, such as the gradual build-up of rubber debris and dust off of the racing line, which makes the track even more treacherous as a race progresses.

Racing Season starts player off driving the Mini (a relatively easy car to drive, allowing the player to master the physics model and various tracks before moving up to higher performance models). The goal is to prevent newbies from selecting the most demanding cars to drive and then becoming quickly discouraged with the game.

In the current vintage racecar series, the FIA specifies that all cars must be prepped to their era's standard. As such, the vintage cars use the state-of-the art technology from the '60s, such hard compound, bias ply tires, etc. Rod noted that the slippery tires translate well into the sim world, and make for a more visceral and exciting sim experience as much as they do for the real vintage drivers as they drift and oversteer their way around the track.

...dynamic lighting models providing the proper lighting condition from dawn to dusk, and into the night. Players can also set an accelerated time-of-day feature that can force day/night racing transitions at rates of up to 16x real time, allowing you to conduct LeMans style racing even when on a time budget that might not allow for a full 24 hours in front of your PC.

The headlights on the car were really spectacular, truly a revolutionary leap forward in presentation that reminded me a lot of the flashlight rendering in Half Life 2. Equally impressive were the trackside lights and how they lit up only portions of the track surface, then faded out in intensity around the edges.

...game audio remains a critical yet under-rated aspect of simulation titles. Sound not only adds immersion but aids in conveying the performance status of the car while braking or cornering. The 10Tacle team didn't underestimate the importance of sound in GTL, and took the time and budge to wire the real life cars modeled in the game with sensitive microphones at locations on the car the corresponded to the various view angles provided in the game and replay engine.

...As the game neared completion
...
huh?? :confused: Why Q4 2005??? :ouch:

today I saw the GTL cars in real life. Tomorrow I am going to watch them train and at the weekend they race!!!!

It looks more like 78 in that screen to me.
Nope, sorry over 90 cars in GT-legends
click

Went back today to Zolder where the GTL cars were practicing and qualifying.
When I arrived, I heard cars doing (over 100dB). I was surprised to see that the F1 from the 70's were free racing.
Took 24 photo's (with a very old camera and a film that is older than one year :scared: )
Going back tomorrow with a friend and he has a digital camera :dopey: .
Seeing the cars from the GTL site (simbin) in RL is, mmmm, nice

I am back from Zolder. Incredible. Most impressive: the F1 cars from the 70's and there was one GPL car. Nice, very nice looking car. My friend took a lot of photo's 👍
