I'm going to run a '99 MRS because I'd love to see how the Spirits MR-S from the best motoring Touge 200 Class would stack up.

Didn't that end up being stolen? :sly: I remember it got a mention on Hot Version JDM Racers. Afterwards they used another MR-S with the engine from the TRD Celica you can buy in game swapped into it :P

Anyways, man I haven't been here in ages! I'll see if I can get some times, but I'm not the best ring driver in the world :( In all honesty I had a crack at the Skyline Nur last night, and haven't got a clean lap out of it :dunce: Then again, I've only tried about 6 times, so I'll keep on trying. Maybe I'll pick a car that hasn't been used yet *shrugs*

That's a great observation I over looked "gin."
m. pedigras,
Did you follow the directions of the race? ;)
Obviously not if you encountered tire wear.

Please switch to Sports Soft tires (as they will give you the best results and happen to be the most gripping tires allowed in this challenge).
Then try again and have fun! Good luck. 👍

Now for me... :D

Sweet car... Is it actually on the 'Ring in the picture? On what event?

I'm running the MG TF160, fully modded right now - sweet car.

Actually, that's from the Gan Sai Touge course (I think that's the name "gan sai").
Any way, it's from the Touge Showdown Part 2 and participated as a 200 class car. It does have the 190hp engine of a Celica and a widebody kit.
That MRS also ran in the NA vs Turbo 2L battle as well as a NA Tsukuba battle. In each of them it impressed me but on Ebisu against the Amuse R1 and two different 300+ turbo Silvias... That's where the MRS amazed me. It started with the pole position and steadily held it until the Driver literally let off the gas and gave the lead away (to follow in 2nd and show the difference between lightweight NA and high hp turbo). :irked: Appreciated the example but would have loved to see a complete hard-driven race from the MR. :(

Getting it translated into GT4 as the '02 MRS...
Probably one of my favorite cars in the game as of the last week or so. I use the '02 model because the '99 only has a 5-speed with full custom transmission. However, either one of these cars can be amazing. At weight reduction stage 3 (890kg?) and NA stage 3, this thing seems to be a perfect touge 280 racer. Not suprisingly, the NA stage 1 will bring you to almost 190hp and makes for a really nice low power MR.
Oh, and the '99 has a black rag top where as the '02 is tan. 👎 I would love to see a hard top in white. ;)

Gotta leave for class right now but I should be back in about 2 hours.
Until then,
-
(can't wait to get home and race!)

Nice to see you have good taste, Kent 👍

It'd be really nice if we got some proper touge to race on, but unfortunately we're limited to picking out sections of certain tracks... meh :ouch:

I had an excellent time taking a stock Galant VR-4 (lol) around Costa di Amalfi reverse before, second half of the track (the downhill part, it's uphill and not as fun if you do the track normal) is really good fun :P

I mentioned this a long time ago, but I'd like to see linear stretches of interesting road included in GT5, with the option of reverse and normal (uphill/downhill? also call me and ID fan but I'd like a night/day option too..). They wouldn't be included in any races, just there to have fun on and master to keep the game interesting for longer :P

Anyway, that was horribly OT, sorry :scared: I'll definately choose my car and get some laps done later tonight, I promise :P

PS. (OT again, sorry) Speaking of engine swaps, please PD, include them in GT5 somehow! We need more things to do! ..Something tells me they're not listening.

Havent seen this car since my 300mph runs:

Toyota Supra RZ /315hp 7'41. 481/ opendriver

Not bad for a stock supra, might have a go with a mildly tunned one, hope to break into the high 6's:tup:

Sorry, I guess I misrepresented myself. There was no wear, however the car gets real squirly and I find myself over correcting it. If I find more time this week I'll try softs again but, I doubt (without significant practice) I can get them working for me. (Time restricts me from "significant practice" mind you.)

And just to confirm, I didn't read the directions I just picked up the gist of them and went racing.

Since you mentioned runningthe MR2 I've downtuned the ASL Garaiya I've been running to 224BHP (figure taken from garage stats).

So far managed a 7'31.548 which is still slightly dirty so don't put it on the board yet. Hoping to get somewhere in the low 7'20 range when I clean it up.

Darren.

I screwed around with some monsters for a while earlier, managed a 6:26 something in the Viper SRT-10, with 930HP and a lazy 6:31 something in the Z06, with 733HP, which I'll improve.
I'll be back with exact details of the cars, and replays soon as I can.

newly built r34 skyline n1 - 803(?)bhp... no setup .... first lap 6:32, second lap 6:30.. i think a 6:25-27 is possible.
