Okay, me hash a problem:

I have a Toyota GT-One road car, which obviously is a dream to drive (just have to get a 787b now! :p ). HOWEVER, when driving the GT1, I constantly hear a "thwack!" noise, which gets on my nerves after a few laps.

Also, I've noticed this isn't just a prob with my GT1. Last night, after participating in a GT World Championship race, I watched my replay, and thought that just for fun, I would "watch" the race from the Toyota GT-One's point of view (i was driving in my ZZII). To my surprise, I kept hearing the "thwack"ing noise from its point of view too!

It seems like the only way to remedy this is to go in 3rd person view, which I hate. I've tried modifying my suspension, and it seems to only get worse when i do so.

So, does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Does it occur after a gear shift? I noticed a strange noise too when ever the GT1 shifted gear so I assumed it was from that. It could also be that the suspension is bottoming out(too low to the ground and the wheels are hitting the wheel housing) dunno what to tell you, but i would try raising the suspension a few mm. its probably apart of the engine sound though.

I think you're probably hearing the noice of the turbocharger in the GT-one, which is fairly loud and frequent in that car. Watch the turbo gage and see if it's shooting up when you hear the sound.

That noise you're hearing would be the BOV(Blow Off Valve). The BOV makes a loud sharp *wish* noise.

It activates the implanted chip in your head. Do as the voices command.

Josh is right it's the F*U*C*K*E*N Blow of value - it's athingy to do with the turbos and stuff, the escudo has it as well

It's also known as the 'waste-gate' - releases excess pressure when you come off the throttle, so the engine slows immediately and not when the turbo runs out of boost.

ther is nothin to fix. Its the turbo charger. The car naturally sounds like that. If you've ever driven a stick turbocharged car you will her basically the same noise.
