My card came with this device that accepts the inputs...its a small purple box. Is yours a TV-card too, because thats what I think you need. My ATI is an All in wonder TV Capture card. So I can watch TV on my monitor.

Yeah, I have the small purple input device too. Mine is a capture card/vid card, same as yours. I am just wondering what program do you play it through to get it full screen? I am not sure how to get it full screen, that's all. I would appreciate it if you could help me figure this out, so I can start drifting with the wheel ASAP. ;)

In TV mode selected, double click the screen and it should go full screen. If that doesn't work, try Ctrl+F
for full screen.

TV mode? I haven't really messed with TV mode yet. Maybe I should do that. Thanks breaker, I will try that and get back to you. ;)
Edit: Did you actually hook your cable (tv) to the computer? When I go to TV mode, it makes me go through the process of setting up the channels and all that stuff. Did you do this, or just say screw the channels, and move on from there?;)

You can just hit Alt-2 for video input. Plug your ps2 into the purple box. If you have s video then use Alt-3
Check your pm's. ;)

Sounds overcomplicated. Get any video editing software and it will have "Capture mode." Plug the PS2 into your little input box, switch to capture mode. Done! Usually, hit record to start recording, hit stop to stop, etc. Pretty intuitive, like a VCR.

Oh, and yes, I recommend the wheel for anyone who wants to try drifting. I didn't even bother drifting until I got a wheel, it's like racing your mountain bike on a trail with training wheels on. It can be done effectively but is silly to think about, and ultimately pointless. It doesn't even need to be the Driving Force Pro, any wheel will do but make sure it has force feedback.

Once it's setup, your right, it is intuitive. It just takes some time, and some cables to set it up correctly. I bought the cables, so I am now going to hook it up, go through the setup process, and then start drifting, hopefully. ;)

You guys tihnk I should get the wheel now or wait until GT4 comes out? I got the GT3 wheel now and I don't even use it. I'd use the GT4 wheel though if I could use the 900 degree mode. Anybody try that yet? Does it actually work?

I went through the same question, get is NOW or get it Later. I knew that I would eventually get it later, so why delay it. If you know that you will eventually want to have it for GT4, there is no reason to wait if you have the funds. That was my reasoning, and I'm glad I got it now, because I have time to get used to it and be prepared for GT4.

I got the funds, but I'm not sure if I wanna spend $150 on a new wheel when I don't even use the one I have now. Plus this money is gonna have to last me a while.

After getting the GT4 Pro wheel, I lend my old Driving Force to my gf's brother and from trying to teach him, he was able to drive better with my GT4 Pro wheel than the Driving Force. When I got back on the old wheel, man I had forgotten how soft the feedback was and flimsy the wheel is compared to the GT4 Pro wheel. I think that if you did get the Pro wheel, you'd definately use it because it is more sturdy and the pedals won't slide on the carpet.

Yea, you can onlock for any game that the wheel works on. I've described the effects of it in this thread. Check the other posts.

Battle_Stage:

Maybe the reason you're not usign the wheel much is because you haven't gotten a nice setup to make it comfortable. The driving force wheel is pretty good, I used it to death until I got the new one.

Here is how I set up my wheel in my living room.

2 stools turned upside down, a book shelf, a worn tire, and a 30 dollar game chair I got from Wal-Mart.

I got a good setup.

I take a cushion off the couch to lower my seating position, then I got this table I mount the wheel to and it's the perfect height.

It's not that it's not comfortable or I suck at it. I can drift just fine with the wheel. I'm just too lazy to set it up every time.

I just picked this wheel up today..

I am wondering if something is wrong with this particular wheel

It has a nice loose feeling but when i turn the wheel either way once it hits roughly 10-30% of a turn either side,It feels WAY too stiff/hard to turn...I dunno,Maybe its just me but i figure it was going to have a loose feeling,Not feel like i was driving a 30 year old bus.

Wondering if i should bring it back for a new one...I mean,It really gets hard to turn, specially at about 90 degrees.Does this thing need to break in or what?Think something is wrong with this one?

thanks

lol

I had said that to myself

I just watched his video again,I can't even move mine that fast,Something is definitly up with this one. When i took it out of the box and turned the wheel i figured when i turned the game on it would losen up and kick in the ways its suppose too.Its harder to turn that a real car,That doesn't sound right does it?

I have to almost use 2 hands to turn the wheel 360,Not a midget either heh,I can turn it with 1 hand but something has got to be up.

What wheel do you have? Maybe if we knew what wheel you had, we could help you more. ;)

I figured people would know,I said i got This wheel today,Meaning subject of this thread,I also refered to watching the video that was posted showing the wheel

Some weird things happening with this,If i get into a game, and yank the cord from the power supply,The wheel losens up and feels to me like it should feel,Then i plug it right back in and it gets near impossible to turn,Like it feels when its turned off and no game is going.

I've let a few people feel it,They all thought it seemed way too stiff and near impossible to play with..

I think it is defective

The wheel has a stronger force feedback response than any of the older wheels. In the manual, it says it is 2 times the strength of the old wheels. To compensate for this, they have two mode of feedback, you can toggle them by pressing SELECT + R3 + LEFT PADDLE SHIFTER, and the left led will blink to let you know it has been recognized.

It has nothing to do with force feedback,I turn force feedback off in the game and the wheel is still stiff as hell and way too hard to turn.

To make this simple.

When it is sitting in your lap/desk,not connected to anything..no game on,The wheel feels very stiff and hard to turn right?Does it feel that stiff when you are playing the game?Mine does,When i pull out the AC adapter(even if force feedback is OFF in the game)all of a sudden the wheels losens up and moves easy.

Thats the best i can explain it.

another question that would get me a answer,If your playing, car is just sitting there idling,Can you move the wheel 360 degrees with just 2 fingers?I have to grab the whole thing and put some force into it once it gets past 90 degrees on each side.alot more force than it takes for my actual real car.

thanks for your reply btw

and nice drifting =]

my wheel is too stiff and i can't move it fast enough to get good drifts,Unless i pull out the AC adapter for some reason,

It seems like the oposite of what should be happening is happening,I pull the AC adapter out and the wheel feels loose,Like its turned on and not off,Then i plug it back in,And it feels exactly like it does when the wheel is off and not connected to anything.

Your wheel feels loser when its turned on and you are playing in a game right?

Everythin u describe is normal...the wheel is stiff. When unplugged it feels stiff, when playing and then unplug..yes its loose, and yes you need more than two fingers to turn it. Its normal man, you have to be more aggressive you won't break it.

The wheel is so worth it... I just got it yesterday.

I just have on question. It seams like Drifting is easy with it. I mean NFS: Underground easy. The wheel moves itself right to the countersteer point. Is this normal? Does the steering assist in options change this? I think I want to change it.
